It is an insult to every person looking for a place to live.
Any place that does not have a place for a standard bed should not be called an apartment. Even if you like sleeping on a futon, if there is no space for a bed, there is no good space for laying out a futon. It really isn't a livable space. Someone will rent it out if desperation, but i feel very sorry for them.
Pikachu’s expression says it all. This “apartment” looks like a storage closet in an office building.
Most of these places are more like com-partments than a-partments, at least to these Angelino resident's eyes, lol. But that one had a cute vibe to it. and on the ground floor too with fire alarm!
I used to live in a studio apartment in London, I thought it was small until I begun to watch your videos, now it looks like a mansion.
I have figured out the solution, Usui-san! All you need to do is get an Egyptian mummy case and store it upright in that weird little entrance space. Then you can sleep in it standing up! 🤣
But this one is clearly a no anyways since it lacks the essential toilet paper storage. I also don't understand why they put a swinging door on the toilet when a sliding/folding door would block the usable room space much less. 🤔

If you don't plan on sleeping or having any food that needs to be kept cold, then this one is perfect. If not, then this is a definite no. There is small, and there is way too small. This one is the latter.
I think this is actually similar sq footage to his current apartment, just with a ridiculously terrible layout. The difference a good designer makes I guess.
It's no where near the ideal but you know what? I'm glad that there's a clean, safe place to live in that price range for those who need or want it. And the toilet room window was nice!
Also, you might use the windowsill to store some (not a lot, agreed) toilet paper.

Pikachu is worried. So am I. That bulkhead over the toilet is likely to bash a person's head if they stand up too quickly. This apartment looks nice but there is no space for actually living!
I would use the mysterious space beside the door as a closet and for shoe storage! A shelf on top of the washer would be helpful for storing cleaning supplies. Request a tiny fridge from the landlord to put under the kitchenette if it fits. Lastly, get a small foldable sofa bed and foldable table and chair.
It’s cheap rent compared to where I live!

This tiny triangle can be, uh, better than living on streets, I think. There's a bathroom (with walls! And doors!), and kitchenette, and maybe some closet solutions above the washing machine and in the shoe rack corner.
Maaaaybe will be okay for a young person who has to save every penny, as the price seems lower than other apartments you've shown us so far.

Awful space in this one, it's an off shape, but doesn't seem to really be very well set up for living in at all. Your current place is much nicer.

If I *had* to make this work I would build/assemble a wardrobe/open closet into the space you were thinking of puting a large shoe rack. Possibly negotiate with the landlord for a discount on the month's rent for improving the apartment by adding a closet space. Probably add a tension rack or shelving unit on of the top the washer to store detergent... and toilet paper!
Oi! 😮Ok... Let's look at the positives! The toilet area is nicely tucked away.. And it has a window! The entrance area space is perfect for a mini fridge and shoe storage above. Maybe a small desk and chair that can double as a lounge chair can be at the window by the kitchen... And I think that fd ld up futton bed from one of the previous episodes might work here! Use the washing machine area and storage and there you go! Make the best of it!! 😅But wow! Usi.. I am looking for another micro apartment

I think a shelf could go up in the laundry closet and a little stand could hold TP in the toilet room. A tall shoe rack and a coat rack could fit into the entrance nook. A small table and chair in front of the big window. The main problem is there is there's just not enough room to have a proper bed and store clothing, and it does look like there's no place for a fridge bigger than a micro fridge without giving up on a desk. That's a shame because the rent is reasonable.
This is why Spidey and Pikachu looked so disappointed.
Whoever designed this apartment should be ashamed of themselves.

No. There must be a hidden mezzanine - perhaps a secret lever somewhere? Like, it looks like a tiny cupboard for a tiny washing machine but its actually the entrance to the actual apartment where there is a desk and a bed! Maybe even a wardrobe!

Pikachu is so mad that someone could design a 9.5m space to be so completely useless. I am not sure that I would live here even if the rent was free.
You could hang up pressure bar in the space by the entrance, and hang up jackets and clothes there. And then put a small shoe rack at the bottom. But the rest of the space is unusable. It's pretty and doesn't feel cramped, but there's no way to put a bed and anything else at all

You need to be ok with sleeping on a futon to take this apt. Usui naturally shows a Japanese style futon but I might go with one that folds into a chair instead. IMO a cooktop is useless if you have no room for a refrigerator. I would have placed a sink and a small refrigerator at about the same height as the sink. Then, the tenant could choose to put one of those portable burners on top of the refrigerator. I would choose a coffee maker and tea kettle but other choices could be microwave or toaster. Besides the seeming Japanese obsession with having a personal washing machine despite questionable usefulness because of tiny drum size (Can’t wash bedding!) I also don’t get taking up precious space with built in cooktops either when there is no space for a refrigerator. If I was forced to try to live in this apt as is, I would put a dorm refrigerator in the laundry space (With the coffee maker and tea kettle.) I do appreciate the attempt to make this apt more psychologically attractive with the sky blue wall. 😂

침대는 이불 수납 공간을 생각하면 차라리 접이식 침대를 사용하고 사용하지 않을 때는 주방쪽 벽에 접어서 보관하는 것이 용이할 것 같습니다
하지만 전반적으로 모든 벽면에 문과 설비가 있어 가구를 배치하기 매우 불편할 뿐만 아니라 공간 자체가 삼각형 구조로 낭비되는 공간이 크네요
Room for the washing machine is new. I think its a nice tight fitted space. Good match on the monthly price with its space

I agreed with Pikachu, should have yellow walls but he also wants toilet paper storage! I would probably use this space for office or work area but not for a place to sleep.
Personally, for the toilets, I would have put a sliding door.
We would have gained more space to occupy
Otherwise, the apartment visit is always just as nice;
That would work with a Murphy bed. Maybe one that has a desk incorporated that folds up on the bottom of the bed.

Hi Usui, Pikachu looks a little disappointed. Like the blue accent wall and light floor. The rent is nice but the wall angles and lack of space is disappointing. Waiting for the next video.
By far the worst micro apartment configuration I’ve seen. Not functional at all.
the blue color is very nice. The room is sunny, and in the summer it’s cooler to sleep on the floor 😊There's just no need for a closet or shelves😅
Hi Usui. I'm from America. We need more micro-apartments here for single seniors & older individuals. It could solve homelessness & be a better alternative to renting a room in a boarding 🏠
I feel your room is the most efficient layout wise, but wonder if there is also someone else that living in such impractical room layout like this video? I’ve seen someone rent a room with “bathroom theme”, like it was just a room with bathtub and open space toilet 😭 I wonder if you can also capture the unique people who living in micro apartments, beside showing us empty apartments room.

I can't understand how someone can think a person can live in a hole like this, without the space for a table and a bed.
It's 3,600ish bucks a year in Tokyo, if you HAD to make it work...but your current apartment is obviously better. If I had to make it work I'd stick a reclining chair by the door in that gray nook and just sleep in that. Large fridge against the blue wall, microwave on top of the induction plate in the other socket. Computer desk facing the window and kitchenette and some sort of standing closet behind me there. It could afford you some dignity if you find the right appliances.
Really cheap rent but a definite no. The layout is just bizarre, has a storage/ closet but no place to put fridge that won’t be in way unless you get small one as use the top as table and desk lol.
I love this apartment! The low rent makes purchasing what is missing affordable. I would put a Murphey bed on the blue wall (paint it whatever color you like). For storing clothes , get a rack and shelf to fold and hang them above the washing machine. Buy a shelf for the bathroom for toilet paper,etc. Buy your own fridge. I love this place. If I lived alone in Japan I would live there. I don't lol so it is a dream that won't come true for me but for someone else, yay!

Somebody should explain to these landlords that there is no point in having a washing machine in your studio when there is zero storage space for clothes.

I think it should be a rule that the people who think up these configurations should be mandated to live in one for 6 months to 1 year just to see how utterly ridiculous some of these are. I'm sure they wouldn't like it one but. I understand it is to get as many apartments as possible in small spaces but some are just non-functional for the most part. Example: how many people would want to open a door and see a toilet right away? ( EP3 lol)

Hiya! I've got excited when I saw the thumbnail. Then my mind was blown away when I saw the floor plan 😮. That awkward space could be used as closet with a lot of tricks and creativity. But I can't wrap my head around where to put the fridge and the bed. We'll keep looking! 😊

I would prefer to live in the last apartment with the toilet directly at the kitchenette. There you have room for a normal bed. This apartment is the negative highlight! 😂
