Sterling and I have been playing this one together for about 25 years, and the song itself is over 60 years old(!). That makes this the oldest song I've ever covered on my channel. But there's a reason Simon & Garfunkel kept covering the Everly Brothers. Those early harmonies were very influential to a lot of those 60's bands. I've always liked this song. I was interested to know that the Everly Brothers didn't write it, but that it was written by a married couple, Felice and Boudleaux Bryant. They also wrote "Bye Bye Love", "All I Have to Do Is Dream" and even "Love Hurts". Oh, and "Rocky Top". :)

This is one of my dad's favorite songs. I played this with my cover band for my parents 40th anniversary party, blew everyone's mind. A great song. Maybe mix in a drum track with brushes for dynamics, kinda like when Ringo George and Paul did during their last acoustic gathering for Anthology before Harrison's passing. Great energy great spirit and hope. Luv it.
