I like this style of video, it’s just a real conversation just like your traditional videos! It’s a cool glance into two people connecting about experiences in interesting places. Cool stories that aren’t always told through the lens! Please more of this.
Hey, Conner! Greetings from Brazil! I'm a big fan here from the south of this amazing country, and I've met your channel since last year and dont miss a single video ever since. Just a tip, if you really want to get to know the best of this country, you need to visit the state of Santa Catarina. There are many beautiful cities (for example, Balneário Camboriú, Florianópolis and Blumenau), rural areas, beaches, etc. It's a state heavily influenced by European culture due to significant immigration in the past, mainly Italians and Germans. I've lived in some other states here in Brazil, and by far, Santa Catarina is the best in terms of safety, good food, and has many tourist attractions to visit and various things to do. I would be happy to welcome you anytime here!
ive been living in rio for 10 years. its definitely an alright state but i gotta agree that SC is a paradise compared to Rio, even SP is. If i was connor i'd get informed about some states in brazil because unlike most countries, brazil is mostly safe, but it depends on where you are at. Like, certain avenue can be safe but 100m away from that place its a crazy place
As a brazilian I'd never go to these places in life lmao, Rio is really a hit or miss IMO, even for us brazilians it can be a nightmare of an experience if ur caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. Still a lot of really nice places to go here and also a lot of great people, but yea I think it's important to choose safety first unless you really wanna do the "true journalism" of documenting shit that happens in the favelas, even as a local I would never feel safe just being close to those places (tbh I feel like the gangs/etc are a lot friendlier to foreigners than to "outsider" locals lol). Also people from Rio are kinda known for taking advantage of you even if you are not a gringo hahah
I have lived in Brazil for over 10 years, and I have had a terrible experience. I have been mugged more than 3 times, my family has been kidnapped (they only stole money and didn't hurt anyone, fortunately). There was once a time when my colleague didn't return money that I lent them, and when I questioned them about it, they got angry. What's worse is that many criminals use their money to buy drugs. I heard of a case where an elderly man lost all his belongings, including his documents, because of the mugging and is now living on the streets. I became a RUclipsr to show the reality of Brazil to the poor immigrants who are arriving here.
This kind bad of things mostly only happens in Rio de Janeiro, unfortunately most of the time tourists only go to Rio and that's the view that Brazil gets from foreigners, when in reality Brazil is an extremely big and diverse country with thousands of places that are completely different from each other to see. So if you ever come to Brazil don't go directly to the most dangerous cities, go to a somewhat touristic city but with less attention from everyone, plan your trip well and you'll have an amazing experience. Every country have it's problems and Brazil is not Rio de Janeiro.
Exactly, you can't compare são paulo with ceará or acre for example because they're so different, even though they are in the same country. And it's mostly because brazil is so big and there's states that are so far away from each other that they kind of developed differently over the years both financially and culturally.
The dangers of Venezuela are greatly exaggerated and have been for a few years now, you could come to Venezuela and never get robbed, especially in CCS. Venezuelans almost worship foreigners.
I feel sad for u mate , I’m Brazilian from Bahia , shit is crazy in Brazil , I was laughing at the hole situation because I’m a local and I’m used to hear stuff like this but is sad as fuck sorry for your experience
Ive been to Brazil a bunch of times. Never had any problems and always have an amazing time. Dont let this scare you. Just dont hang out in Rio the whole time. Go to Florianópolis, go to Fortaleza.
Interesting how much Seal thinks abt making a video for the content, and where it leads him, compared to Connor making it for himself. Good conversation! Prolly will check out Seal now too!
Bruh first of all sorry about you getting robbed in Rio, I'm from Brazil, São Paulo I live in a countryside over here, and it's been much more sooth this part of the country, even the capital of São Paulo is more comfy to travel in when it's not dark like 02:00 am, a lot of Brazilian locals don't like anything about state of Rio because we know that shit like that used to happen in there, so the point is if you come here again, and I hope you do, come to São Paulo and try to avoid favelas as much as possible because it's not safe at all, we're still having some coolest places to chill out and good people to hang out.
my friends got drugged in Brazil at a bar one couldn't walk or talk for 3 days completely robbed of everything by taking a drink from a guy at a bar. Insane to do this, they know but it looked so legit they said. The guy that was shitfaced for 3 days looked like he was disabled (still can't imagine any drug that would do that unless it was an overdose of something?). Was terrible.. He got sick a few days later and they couldn't go to the hospital (the hotel manager said that they would ripp them off so bad they couldn't go there. Food poisoning in the hotel for 5 days ... great vacation.. NEVER GO THERE. It is too corrupt and facked.
Love you guys content and follow… the only thing I would love to add, as an American and Brazilian citizen… careful with statements like “is Brazil worth it for all that trouble?”, commenting on a single experience, at literally the most dangerous area in the whole continental Country, is very shortsighted. It literally sounds like you guys were saying: “is US worthy all the trouble”, talking about a white dude experience hanging around Queens gangs. Really, Brazil is so continental and has so much culture that reducing it to this single experience Puts in question your guys credibility as culture travel creators. I’m sorry that was the case, but really, being careful with these statements can go a long way in giving these Countries a fair chance in the spotlight.
bro, your homie def. has to amp up his game and read people better if he wants to survive vlogging in dangerious places. His decernment is way of. Red flags were already there from the beginning.
Reminds me of Morocco. Non stop hustlers all day. Super nice people but HUSTLIN’ HARD. I had a tour guide I couldn’t shake there and had to pay. Was so lame.
oh nah he kept getting finessed. i feel bad but he shouldve put a stop to it once he noticed.. it also sounds like he was making poor choices for content that enjoying the actual experience or seeing it for what it is and leaving.
That dude put his friends life in danger going past a wild elephant in Sri Lanka. He is just doing dangerous things for content then whining about it when it goes wrong.
Is not about a "North American standard", it is like someone travelling to the USA and going to South Side Chicago or going to Mardi Grass and walking alone at night in a shitty district. Even locals don't hang in fucking favelas or gang people.
the guest was kinda dumb but the host was good. walking around poor neighborhoods in 3rd world countries nothing he said should have surprised him. he was careless.
Most professional travel influencers struggle I think when riding this line (hospitality vs service). Surprisingly it was Seal to call out the situation in Iraq when small brained' should have figured out way earlier.

Any other cities in Brazil you'd recommend for people visiting?
two great channels! you introduced me to seal on tour so thanks for that :)

What's worse? Getting robbed in Rio or getting sucked off in Vietnam?

Dig the new hair Conner, love the interview and podcast man!
Drinking at 2-3am in the streets. Yeah no shit he got robbed. No excuse there.
Perdeu gringo !! 👻
My wife is from São Paulo and thankfully I have never had to pay the gringo price on anything when we go down there because she would throw hands.

Connor, adding imagines on the screen about the place or subject that u guys are talking would be very cool :P
Y'all gotta do more podcasts and trips together!!

@@smallbrainedpod Finally got to the end, nice cant wait

Wtf is that curtain for behind Nolan? 😂
he's talking about the dude with the glasses from Kurt's video right?
If you put the pieces together from what’s been mentioned I think is the guy from Timmy Karter favella video
Every time he says like take a shot of liquor
Seal should of listened to his intuition about that guy…
Reminds me of Morocco. Non stop hustlers all day. Super nice people but HUSTLIN’ HARD. I had a tour guide I couldn’t shake there and had to pay. Was so lame.
The gentle art of Brazilian extortion
I agree. Travel doesn't provide you with a baseline. I have been to Canada before. Wish I could go there again
Seal you are the best RUclips out there!!!!!! Your very funny and you are from my own city ❤❤
TIP, tie parachute cord around the buckle of your satchel or fanny pack.
This guy should’ve just stood up for himself and left. Instead he just kept buying them shit.
I've always felt "meh" about Brazil. All I ever hear is Rio, Carnival, etc.
You're hearing stereotypical brazil shit, that's the problem.
you are only learning the stereotype of the country. brazil is like many countries in one
Well this just means you don´t know the place lol

NOLAN
NOLAN
rio always makes brazil seems sketchy thats so sad
Went to Brazilian favelas and got robbed….shocking. Lucky that was it.
NO SHIT!? That's the dumbest thing to do and you paid for that. Deserved.
this is like going to the crazy hoods in the US and expect to not get robbed
*NOland* 😂😂😂
Carnaval is like LGBT vibe, bunch of drunk, and shame less.
Oh no Nolan. I haven't been robbed since the three times it happened in Mexico. Knock on wood.
Mate, even Brazilians are put off by Rio. And Carnaval os open season. On everybody!!!
That dude put his friends life in danger going past a wild elephant in Sri Lanka. He is just doing dangerous things for content then whining about it when it goes wrong.
So because something goes viral on social media it makes it real? Lol ..
😢 oh man , sorry. That Happened Nolan.. I hope it doesn't put a damper on touring?😢 I hope u continue touring and having Mad fun!!🎉😊 @SealOnTour
Yeah f that, Was planning on visiting Brazil in December for the month but honestly now my mind is made up. Mauritius it is 🤘🤙
That guy looks very robable. I want to go to Brazil. I’ve spent almost two years in Colombia over the last 3 years
lets goooo
I think SBA started to grow properly after his link up with Seal.
You should let me think he was still in Japan😡
Hellll yea boiiiieee…zzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Bro looks like he has money now. New RUclips checks got our man acting a lil’ different, huh? 😂
🔥
This guy hopefully learned something. Expecting these people to play by some kind of North American standard isn’t going to happen.
