General comment here: When football season started back up I was really missing the old podcast. Saw Dan & Marc on Rich Eisen and (thankfully!) I found out about the new HTC show. I'm grateful the format is similar and my favorite football peeps are back together. Corny as it sounds, I missed everyone! I live overseas and can only follow the RUclips channel here. I'm always looking forward to new videos, especially the wrap-ups. Thank You for the show, and keep up the GREAT work!

Nevermind keeping the hook n ladder alive, the Lions, and every team should be working those plays into their playbooks and gameplans more. It's such an obvious way to wrong-foot opponents I cannot believe teams don't use it more often in big spots

Dan - by noting that both Bin Laden and Tucker are now 'He gone' you are, in fact, correlating (sic) the two men.
Man, these poor young QB's. It shows - backups with experience are playing far better than these 1st and 2nd year starters. We'll be looking back in 5 years saying the Falcon's did it right. I can see a world where Penix is better than any other QB in his draft class. Many of the great QB's in the past 30 years had a year of sitting and learning before touching NFL grass.
Couldn’t agree more. Everyone was shitting on Jordan Love in the few games he played during his first 2 years, look at him now. There’s so many examples at this point

I’m not sure why you’re calling that play in the Lions game a blown call. The play was blown dead. It wasn’t like they got together after the play and decided they didn’t get the snap off. Just watch the o-line’s reaction. Why do you think Goff got pressured so fast?…because the o-line reacted to the whistle. Without that whistle it doesn’t play out the way it did anyway.

@@tyrellbattle2455 they’ve said the stadium clock and the tv clock weren’t synched up right, but even so, that doesn’t matter. When half of the Lions players react to a whistle, you can’t assume the play would have had the same result. Magically that happened to be 1 of a couple plays Arizona got immediate pressure on Goff. That doesn’t even happen if they aren’t reacting to the whistle, even if it should not have been blown.
Today I finally noticed a moment where the show felt lacking something. Rams 49ers recap and it wasn’t explained how the 9ers lost - down, distance and plays (for me it was the big play to Atwell when the Rams got the ball back down a TD with 2:43 to go - how can you fall for play action there?) Felt like something the other guy would have added and would have been good to discuss. Love the show though.
Zero concerns as a Niner fan. They aren’t winning the Super Bowl because nobody does after losing the Super Bowl. All we need to get out of this year is a yes/no on Purdy. 300 yards and 3tds w/o CMC, Deebo, Kittle is a huge win for the Niners. Pay Purdy, keep it rolling into the future with Purdy/Shanahan.
The Cards pick six being taken away was the right call, they showed the official clock and it had expired before the ball was snapped. The replay Graver is referring to was showing the networks game clock which was slightly off. Also play was whistled dead so even if it was a bad call, lots of Lions players stopped playing when they heard the whistle.
absolutely they whistled the play dead before anything happened and players stopped. everything that happened after that is moot - the play never began
not like when they stop forward progress too early or whsitle somebody down when they aren’t which is annoying!

Brady was NOT fine. The dude said the phrase "A+" at least 790 times in this game. He has no personality, a monotone voice and starts every sentence with the last thing the guy before him said.... He's been shoehorned voice lines by Belichick and a team for his entire career.... He has no personality, no charisma, the 2 things that you need in the role that he's trying to fill. He just sounds dumb, like he has no clue at all what's going on.
Might be the worst commentator in the entire league. Frankly, Schlereth is better and that's saying a whole lot.

out maybe a little biased, but I would say that lion's play at the half was correct, though unfortunate they synced it up, it was still it 2 and he hadn't hiked it.
Mike McDaniel should trade for Will Levis and see if he can make a good player out of him.

No loop hole in the rulebook. I know this is late, and I did not watch the game, but was the Dak Prescott illegal touching pass ruled not a safety by rule because the foul technically did not occur is the end zone? AKA the throw is not illegal so it doesn’t matter where it happens, only that the illegal touching itself does not occur in the end zone therefore mo safety. Had the lineman been in the end zone, then it would have been a safety.

Tom Brady is absolutely horrible. It's very very hard to make it through a game listening to him. I never know if he's done w/a sentence or is just pausing for an uncomfortable 5 seconds to continue a bad opinion and it doesnt help that his voice is weak and nerdy. Really bad decision by Fox for hiring him.
