    Acne? Gods you’re a blessing. I sure as hell don’t draw my acne when I do a self portrait so I think you’re some sort of magical. Have a good day.

      thank you so much Prisca I'm touched knowing that my videos help you to destress. I work really hard to make my videos relaxing; I would never want someone see art as something scary or out of reach, so It makes me so so happy that you've started your own channel! ❤️ I'm having a hard time expressing my feelings on here but I hope you know how much i appreciate this comment

    People often think that all they need to create good art is the technique but you need to know the fundamentals of how you can draw attention to certain parts of the piece etc to bring the paintings full potential

    This is incredible! I absolutely love your technique 💜 and I love how truthful this is; the way you painted in all your imperfections gives this painting a sense of vulnerability that’s very revealing. I know for myself that showing a self portrait like this one on the internet would be difficult mentally and emotionally. Watching this feels like hearing your life story, and all of a sudden it’s like I know you better now. Thank you so much for sharing this! 😊

    I really really love this drawing. I can tell what this girl is feeling. I felt she was really sad, she wants to talk but she can't. there is something black keeping her scared, and butting her in a bad mood and she wants to cry but she doesn't cry, she kept it inside her. Wow really love it. Please if what I felt is right, let me know. Thank you so much for sharing this art with us. So much love from Saudi Arabia.

    • @fartbutt5440
      @fartbutt5440 5 лет назад

      do you clean your brush before you pick a new color? do you mix the colors as you go or do you make your own palette of the colors?

    • @xrainey
      @xrainey  5 лет назад +1

      Thank you i'll work on that! Ive started doing it on a few of my watercolor videos as well :)
      I clean my brush only when using dramatically different colors black to white, blue to red, etc; but you can do every time if you want. I mix as I go, from the colors in/on my palette, unless I need a lot of a certain color then I'll mix a lot a head of time like for the background.

    Also how far in advance do you plan your videos.?

    • @xrainey
      @xrainey  6 лет назад +4

      thanks didi!! I think both Reeves and Arteza are both good options to start out with (they're cheap so you don't have to feel guilty about wasting paint). Reeves is better in a palette and Arteza is better straight out of the tube. they both cost about the same, but I have noticed the Arteza is a bit more lightfast. no matter what you get I would recommend getting a bigger tube of better quality white. I used up what came with my sets very quickly and the better quality improves how your paints feel since white is mixed with almost everything in gouache. When I have the extra money I plan on upgrading to Holbein or DaVinci but ill probably continue to use these for studies and sketchbook work :) good luck I hope you find something thats perfect for you! ❤️

    • @elliekennedyy
      @elliekennedyy 4 года назад

      i would also suggest starting with a monochromatic color palette (like black, white and grey) to learn the values and stuff and then it gets easier once you actually apply like real colors. i’m no expert tho lol

    • @regg5902
