I've been listening to this song since I was a young girl. Now, I'm 56 and I listen to it with the same emotions and joy!!! I feel as I was . Thank you Eddie!
Such a beautiful human being. Powerful, brought so many people together with music. Just like we're here in the comments together still enjoying it years later. I may not know any of you, but I love you all the same. Im happy you're here. Pearl jam, thank you. Eddie, your purpose has touched millions and we love you for it.
I hadn’t seen this version till now but I didn’t think he could get much more emotional than the Pinkpop 92 performance. Even Stone had to come over and check on him.
I’m currently 19 years old, Got into this from my father when he would put this on in the car, fell in love with Rock and Roll, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Audioslave. Loved the experience listen to it all the time wish I could listen to it for the first time all over again.
go to one of their concerts and leave your mobile at home... believe me! that's the big difference between the 90s and now... back then we took emotional pictures and carry them in our hearts - not digital photos of events! (not saying your generation is not able to... just saying these damn mobiles are so distracting)

I was born in 93 and one of the first birthday gifts I remember getting was Pearl Jam Ten. From my mother when I was maybe 5 or 6. For years I listened to that album in my room. The bar was set so high so early that music these days just doesn’t do a thing for me. These songs connected. Even as a child I could sit fully immersed in these songs and visualize every word and feel every emotion that I’d hardly had a chance to even experience in my own life yet. But I could feel it like I had been there before. I find it sad growing older that my expectations for music were set so high that I took these songs for granted, and have only been let down by 90% of the crap I’ve heard in my 30 years. Forever searching for this or awaiting it’s return.
So many people infrpnt of him, who loves him. But his true love left and he is so sad. Left the stage to support the grief, maybe. This makes me love still more.

Eddie's deep and buttery vocals have dominated the majority of my adult life. And they defined and have become the voice of multiple generations. I highly respect him! PJ and Eddie V are rock 'n roll greatness!!!
Having Been divorced twice, I can fully relate to this song on so many levels. Thank god I have have found a beautiful woman who understands me and my world has come together. No more spinning...
Eddie Vedder is originally from Evanstan, Illinois Chicago. So close to home for me. "I know some people have a beautiful life" is such a true line. Eddie is very talented with his voice and guitar 🎸. Glad they've made it into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Congratulations Pearl Jam.
You go back and see Eddie perform this song back in 2000 and it was, and always will be, amazing. But then fast forward 17 years to when Chris died and see Eddie perform the song again in tribute to him. Still beautiful, but now haunting, and rightly so. Thank you Eddie for this gift to all us, and God Speed Chris, we love you, and we miss you.

My brother is 9 years older than me. I remember when their 1st album came out. My brother played it over and over even getting my mom to help him figure out all the words to every song. I was 8 when I started listening to them in 1991 and have loved them ever since. Eddie's voice is magical. They are the best.
He looks so sad..walks off after performance. Go easy on him peeps, remember this is the year he got divorced in after 16 yrs together...song most likely took on a new meaning. Love went bad...he is a human not just a star...
Discordo.

Merci, Eddie.
EXACTLY. I sat there and just watched as my wife burned our 14 year marriage to the ground. 6 months later I wish with everything that I have in my soul I would have done Something, made ONE last ditch effort to stop her. It wouldn't have worked but at least maybe I could sleep at night knowing that I TRIED SOMETHING, ANYTHING.
@@miked51 hey. How's Illinois doing? I used to live in Chicago and Schaumburg, now living in Florida. I never thought I'd miss the cold weather but I actually do. Florida is too freaking hot, with no seasons..😁
@@prettyyoungthingpyt5015 Illinois is lost. The politics. Chicago is beautiful but is not perfect. Funny, I have lived many places and always return to my city. We can experience three seasons in one day. Peace and Love.
You saved my life last week when my world was turned to Black for 5 days because I was spinning. This is all I sang and thought of your beauty on that stage to keep me from going insane. But it wasn't the same as hearing your voice. They wouldn't let me hear your voice. So as soon as I was cut loose I watched this and cried. I finally heard your voice and saw your beauty again. Thank you Eddie. I love you.

I grew up on this music I'll be 40 years old in February. Thinking back if I had a penny for every time I listen to this I'd be a millionaire. It never gets old and he'll always be a hunk
I first heard this song at the age of 39 (2022 year). And I saw that I missed so immense part of the music, of d life, but I'm glad that I have heard it, thanks for my 14 y.o. son, big fan of Eddie.
Being an 70/80's rocker i felt my ship was drifting as metal gave into commercialism (ie;Creed, etc) and the new "Grunge." HA! But then I tuned into Nirvana, PJ, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains etc and it blew my doors! Music truly moves the soul!
Who’s still watching this amazing performance in 2024?? Eddie Vedder’s voice hasn’t changed all these years later! Health and happiness all!
Funny how everything else on our bodies ages and changes but our voice.
What? HUGE difference between 1992 and 2024.

This song is absolute heart wrenching perfection. Raw emotion on a stick.
THIS
Hey, oh
Sheets of empty canvas
Untouched sheets of clay
Were laid spread out before me
As her body once did
All five horizons
Revolved around her soul
As the earth to the sun
Now the air I tasted and breathed
Has taken a turn
Oh and all I taught her was everything
Oh I know she gave me all that she wore
And now my bitter hands
Chafe beneath the clouds
Of what was everything
Oh the pictures have
All been washed in black
Tattooed everything
I take a walk outside
I'm surrounded by
Some kids at play
I can feel their laughter
So why do I sear
Oh, and twisted thoughts that spin
Round my head
I'm spinning
Oh, I'm spinning
How quick the sun can, drop away
And now my bitter hands
Cradle broken glass
Of what was everything
All the pictures have
All been washed in black
Tattooed everything
All the love gone bad
Turned my world to black
Tattooed all I see
All that I am
All that I'll be, yeah
Uh huh, uh huh, oh
I know someday you'll have a beautiful life
I know you'll be a star
In somebody else's sky
But why
Why
Why can't it be
Oh can't it be mine

Maravilhoso e linda música e sua voz e sem igual
i love watching him and chris cornell so much and now that we've lost chris , Eddie is the most important person in the whole world now.
Dave Grohl also
I agree
What a difference 8 years can make. he looks so different from Pinkpop in 92 but still awesome as ever!
He looks the same ..only with shorter hair..we all age and its normal and a good thing ..God bless
I'm surprised about how much he looks the same !
I actually think he looks better here
@@cedericocosantorini8013 He's only 36 here, Jesus Christ
I happen to love long hair on sexy men, (so yummy), but his face pretty much looks the same. And he's still aging like fine wine even today. :-)
I’m older and still jam to it brings back memories I can’t get back he passed away sadly will always love my love ❤
Merci, Eddie.
Agreed. He is very good looking and l love the unusual cadence he speaks with. He keeps his lips tense when he speaks.

Such a sad song. All the emotions of what could have and would have been in a relationship gone sour. If only you could pay attention to your partner.
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
@@gilbag meh. Nothing you could have done brother. Some people just don't any better. Peace. Bill
Never ruin a great song by a lousy memory...must be the opportunity for a better time...my thoughts on music in general...
this really isn't about "not paying attention to your partner" its more about having a breakup because despite all you do, they don't want you ..
WHAT A VOICE
Best song ever written! ❤️❤️❤️
Sim
He’s like a fine wine 😍
He was born in Evanston, Il. St. Francis hospital. Same as me and yes we age well.

Gold, best song ever. Happy 50th Birthday to me, I am sipping a tequila with a beer chaser, this song has so many memories 💙
Happy birthday!!! 🎉❤
This song is everything.
Eddie was one of the most powerful voices in rock then and still til this day
You saved my life last week when my world was turned to Black for 5 days because I was spinning.
I love you.
Music has a way of changing one's way of life and of being in the world. These guys do it. So glad they've helped you regain a balance in life.
@@walterinpv8499 Thanks Walter. The 5 day hold was brutal. I begged the Nurses to give me my phone so I could watch this. Yes, because of music, I'm still here.
@@Eddievedder3156 Hey "fake" Eddie. LOL. He doesn't have the southern twang. But you're welcome anyway. It's nice meeting you here too.
Music back then is totally different from now I miss those days.......thank you Eddie and the rest of the band...
So right Maria. Music has changed so much is such a short time. I can and do listen to this every time I get. Thanks to RUclips!
@@walterinpv8499 I agree , Thanks RUclips!

I grew up on this music I'll be 40 years old in February. Thinking back if I had a penny for every time I listen to this I'd be a millionaire. It never gets old and he'll always be a hunk
😭❤✌
Es Orfeo 😪😪😪😪
I first heard this song when I was 3. I'm now 68. It never gets old. Agreed like fine wine.
I first heard this song at the age of 39 (2022 year). And I saw that I missed so immense part of the music, of d life, but I'm glad that I have heard it, thanks for my 14 y.o. son, big fan of Eddie.
Your math must be off.
Me faz volta a minha adolescência, recordar é viver e matar a saudade vem Pearl Jam
that song really destroys me but it's a pleasure to feel its intensity ...
indeed~ music and certain songs so cathartic like this one~ so intense to go deep to the bone marrow...no words but what each feels. peace & blessings
