The Soviet Union had a monopoly on all the rock salt, so we were forced to come up with other ways to make ice cream. It was actually considered quite patriotic to have a bowl of ice cream soup after the 1973 Olympics.

The EZ Tracer is officially called a Pantograph, it's used by engineering and architecture students for enlarging drawings and drafts. It's a nifty tool to have if you draw with precise measurements.
The E-Z Tracer is actually an archetype of a tool that was used in history for the same purpose. Without the catchy name, it really is just a pantograph, which was used beginning in the 17th century. They’re really handy devices, if you get your hands on a well built one!
