I got a Lewalani AF, 2024. The fit is comfortable and a good replacement to my previous aviators. In 2023, I got a 2nd reef. The problem with the 2nd reef was, in a few months of use, there was a gap btw the lens and the frame.
Nearly 30 years ago I bought my 1st pair of Maui Jim’s. They were slightly bubble domed semi wraparound. Wore at work everyday and hundreds of golf round. One day I missed a very expensive two footer and threw my head back whining. Off came the MJ’s, landed at an odd angle and the temple broke at the hinge. Screw it, used black duct tape for almost a year of daily use. Finally retired them for approximately 5 years at the bottom of a drawer. Then I found out about the lifetime warranty. MJ informed me they no longer produce that model, but offered me $200.00 toward another pair. Went thru the catalog and chose the MatchDay model. I paid the difference and they were promptly delivered when promised. Man, these are the coolest, comfortable to wear and stylish sunglasses on planet earth. The Manchester United references add to the wearing experience. The Rayband’s are getting lonely.
If i talk about my favorite pair in 2024, i would say still old Black Coral is my first choice. I like StG of Maui Jim and thats too in very stirty metal frame in 8 base wrap. If we talk about other pair, Banyans, Light House, Nuulanding are still relevant those i am currently rocking. I still want Maui Jim produce some good metal frames other than Aviator style with 6 base curve to match Oakley OX3249 Extender with rose lens. on the other hand, all models of Maui are not available in rose STG lens, at least my favorite are not. for having best rose lens, i had to look to Oakley Hi Pink, Dark Golf, Prizm Road Trail options. i wish Maui Jim work upon their rose lenses
Hi can you suggest màu jim for mountaineering and, like with air ventilation through but also should be a wrap frame! I’ve shortlisted 2 on my mind as of now 1️⃣ is amberjack but feels like might be too big and 2️⃣is Alenhuihaha.
For sure! The Amberjack might edge out the Alenhuihaha for use on the mtn. Great coverage & ventilation plus a few other key features to assist you on the climb. Namely, the slot holes for leash attachment, the extended rubber along the temples, and the broader side shields for xtra sun blockage. 👉 www.sportrx.com/maui-jim-amberjack.html 🔥
The Honokalani is very similar in size to the Red Sands. It's relative width is 140mm compared to the Red Sand's 138mm. 👉 www.sportrx.com/maui-jim-honokalani.html 🔥 👉 www.sportrx.com/maui-jim-red-sands.html 🔥
Would the Red Sands or Honokalani models be too large for me? I currently own a pair of Serengeti Aitkin sunglasses with a hinge-to-hinge width of 135 mm, which fit me perfectly.
They might feel a bit oversized compared to your Aitkins, but you shouldn't experience issues such as the frame sliding/falling down the face or cheek crash since you can adjust the nosepad placement to extend the front of the frame away from the face. Try it out and if you don't like the fit, simply return or exchange them for a different model 👉 www.sportrx.com/maui-jim-honokalani.html 🔥 👉 www.sportrx.com/maui-jim-red-sands.html 🔥
Hello, i use Oakley OX3249 Extender with my prescription glasses. Lens size of this frame is 58 but its smaller as per my fit. Could you recommend any bigger eye frame like 60 or 62 with similar looking style? As Oakley Extender 3249 is very clean and fit for office use in metal frames in 6 base curve. I am looking similar frames in little bigger size, mean hight of lens and wid of the lens shuld be comparatively larger than OX 3249. Oakley has made only two sizes for this frames, 58 And 56.... So not for me
I have Light House with HT lenses, but to my surprise these are as dark as Neutral Grey?? I was thinking that I would be able to rock HT lenses in low light or at night too, but i was wrong, these HT lenses can not be used during night. I am still in search of a pair of Maui Jim that would work in night too!! For the time being I am using Oakley Low Light lenses for night, also Pprizm Trail and Hi Pink are also usable to certain extent
Hello! Maui HT has a higher vlt percentage over neutral grey making it a great option for overcast & medium light conditions, but there's currently no Maui Jim lens tailored for true low light and night time conditions. The approximate vlt range for the HT is between 18% & 22%. The Prizm low light's vlt rating by comparison is 76%.
The only practical lenses for low light conditions are the yellow tinted lenses. They can also be used while working on your phone or computer as they are also excellent in blocking the blue light. You can choose any frame to your liking and custom fit them with crizal or zeiss yellow lenses. As you can see in my profile pic, I've got them fitted on my Persol 3347, 53mm eyeglasses.
I'm really careful with my Oakley brand shades 😎 224 I think i got lucky i found them. I'm a person with disabilities so I only get some money to spend on things that I need and want so finding the pair I did was a swagger blessing 🙏 all my other 💰 go to rent tv and internet
OMG...WHATS WITH tj always playing with his hat brim...i thought maybe it was only in his vids me authors but it seems he does it all the time like a nervous tick thing

I got Amberjack after watching your video and I really love it..👍
Amberjacks are great. The extra wrap helps on those beach days. Super glad I got these.
Yes they are!
Mine is not a 2024 . But have a Kaiwi Channel Dark Brown Stripe , Bronze Lens. The view is so chill . Bought it this year and love it!

No The Flats? They are my favorite frame
Is the Honokalani as wide as the Red Sands? It has smaller lens size but classified as large on Maui Jim website vs medium for Red Sands. Thanks.
The Honokalani is very similar in size to the Red Sands. It's relative width is 140mm compared to the Red Sand's 138mm.

I had the MJ sports for about 9 to 7 years until I broke the frame.
