Kull and Solomon Kane are my favorites. Whenever I grow bored with modern media I always turn back to Robert E Howard. His stories are timeless.

Thanks for sharing, Ben. That was an insightful interview with Mr. Finn. I read some of Howard's ringside stories years ago, and will have to re-read them to appreciate his humour.
Kull and Dark Agnes are my favourite heros.

Its wonderful to hear you speak of Howard in the way you do. Growing up I loved reading Conan comics, then fell in love with the man behind him. If i had ever made my dreamed of journey to Texas, it would have been to visit Cross Plains. Alas, I then discovered that Howard was dead, and how strange I mourned his passing decades after he had died, because if not for reading his work my love of reading would not have been egnited. So, thank you Mark for your great work in keeping the cherished memory of Robert. E. Howard alive. 😍🤗🤝👍🏽💕💖

Great interview! I've read Blood And Thunder and it's probably the best bio out there about Robert E. Howard. It's great to hear the author sort of give life to one of Texas' greatest authors. I hope to one day make it down for Howard Days. Most of my family live in Texas while I'm stuck in the great white north. One of these days though. Thanks for sharing the video.

    GREAT stuff, Ben!
Your videos give those of us who can't make it to Howard Days a chance to see what we missed. Makes me wish there were DVDs of all these for sale.

Robert Howard himself intrests me even more than the characters he created. Turning ones inward self outward through writing is incredibly liberating....

While I understand Conan became an industrial cash cow, the original writings hold true to being some of the best pulp fiction I have ever read....

@1701Tex Thanks so much! I assume from your name that you are from Texas? You should do your best to make it to Howard Days one day. It's incredible for Howard fans. If I can get enough folks interested I would certainly seriously consider putting all this videos to DVD and selling them to help Project Pride and the Howard house.

Every time I read Howard, I want to open up whatever story I'm working on and punch up my prose a bit. Every time I read Lovecraft, I grow restless.

Too many adjectives in Lovecraft; paid by the word?

THE IRON MAN was the first hardcover Howard book that I bought, and it's a great boxing book. The Conan stories are the least interesting of his writing to me, but they're entertaining too.

At 0.21: Solomon Kane was a British puritan of the late 16th century, and not from New England. 🇬🇧🇺🇸

"You cant make somebody care about something that isnt a part of their life" - sad that such intellectual, emotional and communal parochialism continues to blinker us from others and from much of what the world can offer us.
