Cape Heartache is my favorite: it takes me to happy places. I could wear it everyday. If you told me I would fall in love with a strawberry note I wouldn’t believe it, but coupled with the forest and fir I love it is, to me, it is genius. I love Bull’s Blood for a night out: it’s dirty and sexy and uniquely boozy and almost savage. The rose adds a noir elegance. I can’t stand City on Fire. It smells like after the fire, after a rain made the ash dank, with a strong note of the over the counter ointment you used on the burns.
OMG! City On Fire!!!! Is the first fragrance I tried from this line and I fell in love immediately! To my nose right away I got a scent of DRY PLUMS even though there is no plum there. But to me this is how it smells!
I just received Whiff of a Waffle Cone, City on Fire and Slow Explosions. They also sent me a sample of Telegrama... Wow they are all awesome. I can't stop sniffing myself, smiling and going "ohh my gosh that's AHHHHMAZING" It's incredible how they all really smell like a story/place not just a perfume. My mind is a little blown 😊
@@InsaniHubi Ohhh gosh, it's a really difficult one to explain. If you ever smelt the old version of lolita lempicka, it reminds me of that but more smokey. It's quite feminine to my nose being sweet and somewhat powdery. I enjoyed the sample but I personally wouldn't buy a full bottle because it's nice but not really my style. It's got the Imaginary Authors modern twist but it feels kind of vintage. Sorry, I'm not good at describing perfume. I would recommend a sample before blind buying a full bottle. I think it's probably one of those scents that could smell very different person to person.
My favorite is Every Storm a Serenade! I also enjoy Saint Julep and Memoirs of a Trespasser. City on Fire is the first scent I tried from Imaginary Authors and is the reason I bought their Short Story Collection. It's definitely a great scent! If I had to come up with a top three: 1. Every Storm a Serenade - I love the way it smells after a rain shower, this scent does that for me 2. Saint Julep - Minty sweetness 3. City on Fire - kind of like by the Fireplace, without the sweetness. Very unique scent.
I wore Saint Julep as my wedding perfume! The bottle looked lovely with all of the green I had in my detail shots, and the light, fresh scent was so perfect for a spring wedding. It still makes me smile every time I put it on! I wear Whiff of Waffle Cone in fall and winter because it’s a warmer fragrance, it can seem a little heavy, but the dry down is so good, even at the end of a long day. Another fun wedding tip, I gave each bridesmaid an imaginary authors sample that I thought fit their tastes and personality in their gift box
I've never smelled anything from this perfume house. But after hearing your reviews, I'd definitely put Slow Explosions as number 1 because I just love rich, rose fragrances!
I just got a sample pack and am wearing bulls blood right now. It's great and very strong! I get what I'd like to think is an iron smell much like blood. I know it's not actual iron but the combination of notes creates something similar to me. I like it for it's uniqueness.
BTW, great to see Bulls Blood get some attention. I hear some people don't like it, as well, but I really enjoy wearing that sometimes. It's a hidden gem to me from the house.
Yessss!! Great to see Slow Explosions so high up in the list. It's, personally, my number one from the house. It's so cool to see that our taste in the house sort of align! TERRIFIC terrific list Sebastian. I'll leave you alone and stop commenting now!😂 PS. Hope your enjoying Esxence!
Hi Great review as usual. Im very fan of this house. I have 4 of these! Love all of them. Really a niche fragance. Defenitely a must have. Very Strong, and concentrate juice. Amazing performance. My fav The cobra and the canary 2- A city on fire 3- Memoir of a trespasser. Id love to win. Miami Florida
I’ve tried over half the line and love the brand. Such a unique storytelling concept and a great example of the art of perfumery. My favorites so far are Cape Heartache and Slow Explosions and I’ve tried 10 of the current lineup. Appreciate the great review!
I literally just got a bunch of samples this morning from Imaginary Authors. They're running a special right now for $3 samples. I got 7 for like $25 including the shipping. They even including an 8th one for free. My favorites so far are St Julep, Falling into the Sea, Memoirs of a Trespasser and Yesterday Haze.
I own a full bottle of the soft lawn, I think it smells pleasant, wore it about a month ago and some people were moving away from me in public, only wore 4 sprays but some people are fragrance haters. My state is Arizona .
Bull’s Blood is my husband’s favorite fragrance on me, and City on Fire is one of his all time favorites for him. We moved from Portland a few years ago, so it was always cool going to smell this house at Fumerie.
Really enjoy this house. My fav is Bulls Blood and Soft Lawn for myself. I have to say that Falling into the Sea is really good as well. I may purchase that next. For my wife, I'd say Whispered Myths and Yesterdays Haze are our fav's. Such a rad perfume house AND they are from the United States.
I agree! It’s excellent! It reminds me of a nice garage with diesel and oil on the concrete floor but yet they are working on custom leather seats in a Ferrari.
I've only tried a sample of The Cobra And The Canary, but it absolutely blew me away! So I just ordered a sample of everything they have. After smelling that one, I know I must try them all.
I really haven't tried anything from this house, but I'm incredibly interested in trying the entire line, especially Slow Explosions. An excellent overview of the house Sebastian. Very much appreciated. NC.
My favorites were Saint julep, a city on fire, cape of heartache, memoirs of a trespasser, and o known for sure. But wasn’t a fan of whispered myths, the cobra and the canary, or slow explosions at all. And yesterday haze was ok to solid
I have only tried Memoirs of a Trespasser, which I enjoyed. I would love the opportunity to try some of their other scents, particularly City on Fire and Saint Julep. I'm in Idaho. Thanks for the great reviews.
Yes Sir, my number one is also A City on Fire. Smoky, sweet on the background and really sexy. I actually use this one during winter, but since I relate to the female in the imaginary story, I use this fragrance at night the other seasons of the year, too. Great list my friend.
All of the sound so fantastic! A city on fire and mint julep and at least 3 others that you have mentioned sound absolutely stunning! But those 2 in particular really pique my interest! I've really been wanting a city on fire and I may just say the heck with it and get it!
What a coincidence! My first entry on this channel and it turns out that my beloved City on fire perfumes are also your favorites. They are associated with an amazing tale "Imaginery Authors". When I went to NYC to see the place where my beloved David Bowie lived, somewhere between Nolita and Lower East Side I felt the smell and was speechless, I was following a man who smelled that smell, but he didn't I dared to ask about this fragrance. After arriving in Poland, about half a year of searching, questions from friends walking around perfumeries and buying samples online took me to find City on fire, I found it in a niche perfumery in Krakow, along the way I found my second love, Black Afgano by Nasomatto, I love also Memoirs of a Trespasser, but I just don't know many of these scents, I have a long way to go. Best regards, fantastic channel.
yes!!!!! city of fire is magnificent, got to smell it of my wrist once at a store nearby that carries it and initially had a reaction of wtf is this. but on the drive back it turned into something insanely beautiful and rare. memories of bornfire/tar. sadly it was my first and last experience with tit. state : GA
I love the Soft Lawn. After watching this I'm going to stop in at Spruce Apothecary in Portland to grab Mosaic before it disappears--I didn't realize it was so limited. Thanks for the heads up! And for the sweet giveaway.I live in Oregon.
Great list sebastian! I got a discovery set a few months ago from them and I love them all. My favorites are yesterday haze and every storm a serenade. I would love to try the last 3 or 4. This is a great house and I'm hoping to get a bottle soon. I'm in Arizona. Keep up the good work!
Oh my gosh I just got my first two samples a city on fire, and every storm a serenade. This is my new favorite house of all time I think I'm going to have to order a couple samplers and try every single fragrance they have.
I'd say my favorite is Cape Heartache because it's the only one I own. But I love Falling Into the Sea and Soft Lawn. Really interested in trying Whispered Myths. New York.
I don't know if the giveaway is still relevant, but I thought Cape Heartache was fabulous. That is until I smelled A City On Fire. Oh my word! That one is to die for. I see why you put it in the number one slot.
Excellent Review! I own a few of these but I am really getting into the brand. I have learned some things from this video that make me want some scents I was unfamiliar with. Happy Monday! Cheers 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I truly enjoy this fragrance house and would say that my favorites are O, Unknown, Saint Julep and Yesterday's Haze. Thanks for your take on the house :)

The only IA full bottle I own is Soft Lawn, which is quite nice and really does smell like a tennis 🎾 ball, or more accurately a tennis ball that’s been on freshly mowed grass. I’m looking forward to acquiring St Julep for the summer. -wet and rainy in Moraga, CA
Sadly I haven't had the chance to try out any of Imaginary Author's fragrances but I do believe that A City on Fire, Slow Explosions, and The Cobra and The Canary sound very very interesting. The scenario I imagine is like when people ask you what are you wearing, replying with either of the 3 is going to probably impress a few people, as it is not common for someone to reply with "I wear A City on Fire". All 3 have a nice beautiful colour and design. Greenville, South Carolina
I have three of them: Saint Julep, Cape Heartache, and Slow Explosions, and would rank them in that order. The remaining ones I think I would like based only on descriptions and in order of desire to check them out would be: The Cobra & The Canary, Memoirs of a Trespasser, The Soft Lawn, A City on Fire, O Unknown!, Yesterday's Haze, and Mosaic. California
Never tried any of this house, Sounds wonderful though. Sebastian, your tastes are great in fragrances. Slow Explosions, and City on Fire sounds different and really creative fragrances. So I’d have to go with Sebastian’s 1 and 2......thank you, Great video! Louisiana!!
Saint julip and cape heartache to me r the best and the only ones I’ve tried lol. I tried falling into the sea it smells nice but doesn’t last on me at all. Good review sir
Always hear good things about this House. Haven’t tried anything yet. Saint Julep, Slow Explosions and Cory on Fire sound really good. Hope to try one day. Thanks ✌🏻
A very good IA reference video! Never tried any from IA. Most interested in Cape Heartache and of course your no. 1 City on Fire. California. Thanks, Seb.
Fantastic review! Memoirs Of A Trespasser has to be the most talked about fragrance from the house. However, I will have to try "A City On Fire" sounds interesting. PA
I like too many to name a favorite. I couldn't do a Top 10 list, but you did and it was fantastic. I agree with Mr Sillage that Bull's Blood needs a little more attention. Thanks Sebastian! p.s. Have them all, except am missing An Air of Despair:(
Hi Sebastian i love city on fire and its number one for me this house is what you would call a Niche power house and the bottles design to the presentations are very indie
love your review on this Sebastian 😁, my top 3 is : 1- cape heartache 2-memoirs of a trespasser 3- cobra and the canary, these three i love it so much Sebastian, thanks for the giveaway and the oppurtunity again Sebastian, USA here 😀.
I haven't been able to try this house yet. They all sound great, but I'd love to try Every Storm a Serenade, Saint Jules, and Slow Explosions. I'm in Texas!
Great review! I have never tried this line, but that Saint Julep sounds intriguing. I would love to try these fragrances. I’m in California. Stay blessed!
I usually like Mugler, meaning creative combo fragrances, BUT I couldnt get on board with Aura. In your opinion, are any of these Imaginary frags just plain weird and polarizing like that? Thanks
Here in the rainy Eastbay, California. I like IA. Saint Julep was my first introduction which I enjoyed. Bull's Blood was a blind buy and no research. It is a love -hate relationship. It is divisive. I bought it bc of the name and with thought this has to be manly and it is. I thought of purchasing Repilca filters to either highlight or subdue certain elements of Bull's Blood
Whispered Myths is nice! Like Oud Minerale plus incense? Yesterday Haze seems more feminine to me-dusty fig, a little powdery. O, Unknown is nice but for some reason, now I get more moss and musk than tea (like I did when I first tried it). Would like to smell this on men. Violet Disguise is nice. They all do have the same DNA. Saint Julep will be worn a lot by me this summer. The Cobra and the Canary might be my favorite from the house. Haven’t tried The Soft Lawn or Slow Explosions or A City on Fire, but those are next for me to sample from them. CA
Thanks for great video , I like City on Fire like the smell , have not tried any of the others but they have been to my to do list , want to try Memoirs of a Trespasser and Saint Julep . North Carolina.

I just started getting into IA and I bought a short story collection and multiple fragrances smell like I was next to a campfire. Has anyone else experienced this? O,unknown and yesterday’s haze smell the best off my skin.
I'm here late but I am thinking of buying slow explosions and o unknown, how long do they stay on the skin and also I love sandalwood is it very prominent in o unknown.. lasting now I'm interesting in whispering myths, can you go more in depth with a review in that one.
If I had to rearrange these and choose my number one I’d have to put falling into the sea at the one spot. Great review of one of my favorite houses Sebastian. They all sound unique and interesting in their own right but if I had to choose my favorites they would be falling into the sea, every storm a serenade, violet disguise, O, Uknown! and cape heartache. New York. Thanks for the opportunity. Have a great weekend.
I’ve always wanted to get my nose on fragrances from this house ever since I heard of them... I really want to try Slow explosions but they all sound so interesting. TEXAS! 😁
Hi. Soft Lawn sounds pleasant. I have tried Slow Explosions, but find it doesn't last that long. It is okay for a short ride. Do you like/tried Bruno Acampora Musc Oil, Farmacia Ss Annunziata Patchouly Indonesia & Laurent Mazzone Patchouly Bohome ??? from your videos you may enjoy them all Thank you 🐚 California

Can you tell me how the telegrama smells like? I’m interested in buying one, but afraid it’s not my cup of tea
@@InsaniHubi Ohhh gosh, it's a really difficult one to explain. If you ever smelt the old version of lolita lempicka, it reminds me of that but more smokey. Hi Sebastian i love city on fire and its number one for me this house is what you would call a Niche power house and the bottles design to the presentations are very indie
I think Memoirs of a Tresspasser sounded the best. I've never smelled any of them, but I like Vanilla. Oklahoma
love your review on this Sebastian 😁, my top 3 is : 1- cape heartache 2-memoirs of a trespasser 3- cobra and the canary, these three i love it so much Sebastian, thanks for the giveaway and the oppurtunity again Sebastian, USA here 😀.
I haven't been able to try this house yet. They all sound great, but I'd love to try Every Storm a Serenade, Saint Jules, and Slow Explosions.
I'm in Texas!
Thanks for reviewing. Sharing this video now.
Great review! I have never tried this line, but that Saint Julep sounds intriguing. I would love to try these fragrances. I’m in California. Stay blessed!
Love IA! Just picked up sundrunk and a back up bottle of saint julep
Hello, My favorite IA fragrance is The cobra & the canary, also enjoy Memoirs...I'm from Indiana
Would like to finally try them out but it's difficult to get a hold of them here in Malaysia. Thanks for this overview, Sebastian!
A City on Fire definitely seems like it would be my favorite! I have never tried any of their fragrances! I'm in Texas :)
CA
Great video! I haven’t tried Imaginary Authors yet, but am very interested in Saint Julep. Illinois.
Thanks for great video , I like City on Fire like the smell , have not tried any of the others but they have been to my to do list , want to try Memoirs of a Trespasser and Saint Julep . North Carolina.
I really love Every Storm. It's a great scent with an even better name. Montana.

I just started getting into IA and I bought a short story collection and multiple fragrances smell like I was next to a campfire. Has anyone else experienced this? O,unknown and yesterday’s haze smell the best off my skin.
Beautiful work once again. I feel like I was smelling them right next to you. I have been dying to try all of them. I really want st Julep
Nice review!!! Unfortunstly I have never test any from this house. City in Fire sound very interesting.
I own and enjoy Every Storm a Serenade, but I find Memoirs of a Trespasser quite interesting in cold weather. I'm in Ohio.
I'm here late but I am thinking of buying slow explosions and o unknown, how long do they stay on the skin and also I love sandalwood is it very prominent in o unknown.. lasting now I'm interesting in whispering myths, can you go more in depth with a review in that one.
Great list I love many and I can't wait to try more of them.
Hey love the videos! I’m thinking about picking up a bottle of city on fire
Great review of a house I know nothing about. Would like to check out the samples.
Never tried this house. Would love to try it out seb.

I’ve always wanted to get my nose on fragrances from this house ever since I heard of them... I really want to try Slow explosions but they all sound so interesting. TEXAS! 😁
Really wanting to try this house!
Hi. Soft Lawn sounds pleasant. I have tried Slow Explosions, but find it doesn't last that long. It is okay for a short ride.
Do you like/tried
Bruno Acampora Musc Oil,
Farmacia Ss Annunziata Patchouly Indonesia
&
Laurent Mazzone Patchouly Bohome ???
from your videos you may enjoy them all
Thank you 🐚

Hello ,
I have not try any of this fragrances. I heard such a good things about them.
I have not been able to get into this house. Soft Lawn was my fave. I'm in Ohio. I need to try the ones that I haven't yet!
Would someone please tell me, of the 16 fragrances mentioned in this video, which ones have been discontinued.
