I traction rolled mine outta the box, run 1 lol.. had to hit the ebay for a nee a arm and upper link. Remove all the shock spacers and just run the 4 medium ones in the package, it drops the CoG and dramatically changes handling for the better.
Man, brings me back to ‘04 when I could build and test out the Tamiya version of this model for a Dutch RC magazines. Car was given back to the magazine 🙁 but I got to keep the pictures and videos😁 Great Hooning!
Ya these cars are awesome I have ken block car did you know he helped design it that's way it handles the way it doze there bonkers on 3s for sure but awesome though 🤘😎👍
Try the ken block tyres they last for ages. They are a harder compound then the rally tyres but they dont wear out mine have lasted for ages now and still going strong
You keep repeating yourself Richie? 😀I thought you would catch that on the edit.. You mentioned the 17tooth pinion and about the recommendation of 19t for 60mph quite a few times 🤣
Despite being listed as 1/8th scale, the WR8 is actually a little smaller than the Fiesta (1/10th scale). WR8 Length: 485mm (19") Width: 227mm (8.9") Fiesta Length: 535 mm (21") Width: 281 mm (11")
Mad how you say a bout Richard Burns I'm a big fan of the wrc and loved colin mcrae love all drives but fact Burns has won more rallys than mcrae but doesn't have the same respect as him it's mad but I think it was just the way colin was behind the wheel witch I think one all the fans he still has to day rip Burns and mcrae 🙏🙏🙏
@@DriftomaniacsRC I keep toying with the idea of getting a 420R as my daily driver but then whenever I'm driving in the rain I realise it's probably not a smart move, lol.
Man, I really want this car but 1.) I know I'd break it...I like to take jumps. Not "to the moon", just the ones at my local 1/8th-scale offroad tracks and 2.) Parts support...HPI is running on fumes, unfortunately
Don’t be a stranger Rich, we need more videos from you!
I’m also lovin this HPi WR8 Scooby, seriously now considering buying another as i have new genuine Ken block Fiesta shells & wheels to match 🚙 😍💯
HPI has a hit on their hands for sure with this one! 👍🏻🍻
They did 10 years ago…. And they dropped the ball on it. Hopefully this time they take notice and keep making parts and bodies this time.
Had mine on 7200mah 3S and it was uncontrollably ridiculously awesome lol. Needless to say it’s gonna stay on 2S.
Oh I love it! Something to aspire to. The price point is a little rich. the allure is strong… Cheers!
It's a little hooligan for sure! I can't believe it took some of those hits and kept on going!

Oh man, Richie, you lucked out! Gotta get me one of these now.
Add in a Dumbo TX with gyro and I'm golden.
Thanks for the videos always!

I want a wr8 but need to fix my other cars first 🤣
Cool RC car but not as cool as that Lotus Seven variant in the car park!
Agreed! And it's fantastic to drive (My Caterham 7 that is!) wheen it's not raining!
