So the passenger side head you start with the two dots facing eachother like you said makes the set 180° out of time. So then when you turn the cam 180° so that the 1 dots line up and the cam pin is straight up that means you have some valves open, is it normal for those valves to be open while in top dead center ?
I just realized that having the cam pin up and the single dots lining up on the passenger side head the valves that are open are from cylinder 3 and 5 so valves lined up with cylinder / piston 1 won’t collide with piston number 1 at TDC So it’s making sense .
If your talking about Head Gasket it is definitely a Job to do. I have Videos basically of the whole process. They are long Videos But will help you I will leave links to those Videos below Give me a sec it will take a minute to paste them here Part One Diagnosis and Teardown ruclips.net/video/bDzso-o47IQ/видео.html Reassembly ruclips.net/video/7JkjPRjgv8k/видео.html Final Assembly and Startup ruclips.net/video/YgwuHBcd5-Q/видео.html

Yes as the Cylinders with the Valves Open will Not be Firing at that time. Only the Cylinders at TDC
