In the traditional teachings the Holy People have their favorite. Their children. The five-fingered being. The humankind.
Everything was made for them. Everything shows gratitude to the Holy People. But it seems the creation that has the most difficult time showing gratitude is the Five-Fingered being.
In this video... Navajo Historian Wally Brown shares the traditional teachings around gratitude and the importance of it.

My mother, whom was Hispanic Apache/Navajo, used to say, "always gives thanks for everything in this life. Life itself is a gift and should be treated as such, same as the ground you walk on and the food you eat. Always be thankful for life itself is a rarity on this planet." Thanks Mom, I miss you.🥰🥰😥

Is life a rarity though...? Consciousness itself is infinite, and every life form ties into consciousness, and it's own universe. Reincarnation is a thing too, the Ouroboros. Death is said to be an illusion.

I understand to be thankful for things but is life really a gift? Some people are born horribly deformed and I've seen handicap people that don't even know they exist. If life is a gift it should be equal for everyone when there born.

    • @53adonis
      @53adonis 10 месяцев назад +10

Many old masters teach that those who are suffering deformity or depravity or even those who are extremely bad are all there for us to respond to and we grow in that way. Apparently we human beings need to experience pain and suffering and loss etc. in order to experience growth toward the fullness that we will be one day.

I Love the way He speaks, He does not speck of us but the way of Life. I'm a Christian and I believe in Jesus Christ. But this man is special of God and His ancestors.
The one thing I remember is when you hunt, and kill your game. Take the time to cut out the heart and bury it in the ground and then give thanks to our brother who gave his life, not by his choice but for the people.
Bury His heart and say thanks for his sacrifice!
The way of the Navajo Nation and others are true to their rights. Their way is the life blood of the way.

Some get lost in the day to day activities and take for granted the things they have around them and lose the idea of what has value and what does not . Suddenly when those things are gone then the we realize what we had and did not take notice of it when we did have it . Some things will not always be and fall away but the things that are necessary for life , not a game boy or that big screen TV , are the things of value and giving thanks for those things daily and realize they are gifts keep the spirit whole and brighten the eyes. Respect for the ground and the trees and all the creatures that crawl on the earth , the place we call home , is most needed . Some are guiding this world into deeper and deeper peril but we do not have to be caught up in the steam it offers . I am not Navajo but I am Cherokee and the teachings of these things are the same throughout the nations . This elder who speaks in this video spreads the ideas that are needed for life . I was wondering what the red meant on your locking stick in between the colors of the four worlds. Now I know. Makes sense actually. I have always heard it said “to walk the red road “so now I am thinking this also is linked to walking in beauty.

@@john454ful yes, I remember. Once upon a time when I was younger, there were some people who took time out of their lives to teach me some things which have stayed with me. I rented a room out of a house, the owner followed the red road. Unfortunately, a few years later, he passed away from a terminal illness. In the meantime, though, he opened up my mind to new possibilities and ways of looking at the world. He gifted a red tail hawk feather to me and said to me that he hoped the feather and what was behind, it would teach me something. Ever since then. Without being able to explain it, a lot of things have happened to me over the years, which have continued to teach me. I still have the feather.

I came to this channel some time ago to learn about some REAL history of the Diné, the Anasazi, the cliff dwelling peoples, and some truth about the Anglo American history I was lied to about in school.
Yet, now I have come to understand so, so much more! The wisdom I have gained from NTT is amazing and [almost] completely unexpected!!!
Thank you for this channel, this knowledge, and for teaching me TRUE GRATITUDE!
'Tis why I now want a Tibetan funeral common to many monks: wrap my body in simple white sheets and carry it up to a high mountain ridge so my flesh can be food for the birdies and their chicks!

I am young man still; only 71, for a few more days. I still have much to learn. I marvel every day, that I have been handed such a beautiful day! God is so good to us, and we're incredibly ungrateful as a species. We have air to breathe, water to drink...even mosquitoes, as annoying and sometimes dangerous as they are, have a place in the greater scheme of things as food for bats. I've learned much from you. Thanks!

I was raised with Spanish, French and English. Yes, English is limited in words with deeper meanings, hard to express my self as it is my third language. But, gratitude is the key and praying for continued spiritual, emotional and mental a strength! May the Spirit of Love, Joy, Health and Abundance be poured upon us all.

I am a polyglot as well. Fluent in American English, Spanish, Japanese and my Indigenous Tribal language.
American English is actually a much larger , more descriptive, language if one is fully educated in English.
For instance, there are more words for various types of squash and pumpkins in American English but in Spanish pumpkin, squash and butternut squash are generically called calabasa.
There are numerous other examples I can give.
When I taught English Second Language classes for over a decade the Latin American students whom came from Latin American countries found English to be extremely difficult because there's so many more words for the same things, so many more descriptive words, as well as so many dialects, accents and forms of slang throughout the USA.
In my tribal language our words are sometimes more descriptive than American English or Spanish but lack the sheer volume of vocabulary that exists in the American English language.
So my tribal language isn't as specific as one can get speaking American English. Nor does Spanish get as specific.
That's the one thing I've found from being fluent in three languages and conversational in several other languages, is that American English can be so specific.
Of course, the younger generations are willfully losing their communication skills, language skills, in every culture that I associate with, much to the sorrow of their grandparents, because they're obsessed with slang or with shortening their languages which reduces the descriptive meaning in some cases.
I use to dislike English language, cause it was forced upon my ancestors, but becoming more educated and having taught languages over the years really opened my eyes to how much more specific the American English language is compared to other languages.
My melodic tribal language is more beautiful to the ear than English . Spanish is much easier on the throat than American English, since the words are less guttural.
But American English is the most specific language with much more words than any other language I speak.
Also, the exertion of speaking the more guttural American English requires more deep breathing than the other languages I speak, so I find that while serving in the Army the American English speakers had better cardio than other Soldiers from Non-English speaking cultures.
I'm not fluent in Navajo but can converse in Dine' and Apache, due to some of my family being from those ethnicities , enrolled w/those nations/tribes and fluent in their tribal language. . .And those languages also are less specific, such as categorizing all winged bugs as one word, all fish as one word, etc albeit American English has specific words for each kind of bug, fish, etc.

I'm not a linguist but I have some contact with Sanskrit. When Chief speaks the language of ancestors, many words remind me of Sanskrit. The language also sounds very similar. Of course, they probably have a different meaning. perhaps in times before colonization, people had more in common than now described in books. We had our own complex cultures whose richness rivals those that are known. It's great that you can listen to your elders and learn. Great idea to use the internet to spread wisdom. Thank you 😊❤🙏

Podejrzewam że były podobne do Waszych dlatego słucham Was z zaciekawieniem.

Much love, years ago my father got a fever. He went into a spirit world. And recovered. He quit smoking and drinking. A few years later, I discovered a documentary. ( the peyote way. ) Doctors and scientists where trying to understand how addicted people. Stop being addicted. ( you will never find this documentary. ) the debate was , sweat lodge or both, the peyote was a factor to prevent brain failure.
