this video is such a breath of fresh air for me as a vanilla andy lmao. You're the only content creator who has dropped a phase 4 video that seems genuine or has any touch in what makes vanilla vanilla. Great video.
Sod will have the same outcome as d4. It will be unplayable or unfinished for so long the spark will die off. Even if it ends well... stringing the populus that long will inevitably cause its downfall.
I strongly disagree with the idea that if the next phase takes until the end of July, the players' recovery will be worse. Everything, in my opinion, will be defined by the quality of the content. If it's good, it will attract all the content creators and, as a result, a lot of players.

People complained because phase 3 was buggy, had no content and wasnt ready.
We got a PTR for testing and they are taking some time to add things we still dont know everything thats going add when it releases
@@kittan5450 Yes, I think the criticism of this phase is valid, but if we stop to think about it, it's an intermediate phase and if the content of the endgame is well developed, this delay and moment where content is lacking is something normal. Even more so when we stop to think that this is an experiment that is basically being used as a test to develop a classic+. In the end, when there is no content, the best content in wow is complaining, it pays off a lot with the community.
Likewise... They have already waited so long, might as well max out development time for quality. SoD has absolutely bottomed out, and will unlikely bleed many more players out this phase... But the potential gains by nailing phase 4 will be magnitudes higher than that % loss anyways

I think that you are right however that is also heavily dependent on how good War Within is. If War Within takes the playerbase, and KEEPS the playerbase, SOD essentially has to knock it out of the park to get players back. I don't think most WoW players are the no life 18 hours a day p[layers these days. The majority of players are going to pick one thing, if anything, to focus on.
I wont touch SOD after I found out we wouldnt have any new content. rip classic + we wait for another 3 years.

Nothing will recapture the glory of classic launch. Man that whole time period was goated. Amazing memories, amazing fun. Even the rage inducing wpvp
Nostalrius was goat nothing in classic was goated by anyone, only clueless zoomers.
The issue with world bosses wasn't just imbalanced factions. The issue was top tier guilds going out and consistently tagging the bosses so that they can get the gear for their raiders (this makes sense because some of that gear was either BIS forever or BIS until Naxx). Not being able to do that content wasn't a matter of skill level necessarily. It was a matter of not having enough raiders on at any given time and camping an area trying to get a mob tagged. This isn't fun or engaging content for most players.
Now, do I feel like dumbing everything down to 20 players makes sense? No. And making it doable by 40 players makes even less sense somehow. But turning the world bosses into an instanced scenario and giving everyone equal access to it doesn't seem bad to me. Imagine if there were raids where the prerequisite was that you needed 60 people in your guild online to be allowed to enter. Would we be calling that good game design? I think not. Nor is it good game design to have raiders transferring to another low pop server to be able to get a shot at these tags (which people were very much doing).
If you must, think of this like the wotlk version of Naxx. People really did enjoy that, and the sole reason they "brought it back" was so that more people could experience the content. Comparing this to rank 14 in pvp is beyond ridiculous, in my eyes. Rank 14 didn't predicate you have 40+ players ready to tag a world boss.
I've given up on SoD and moved on to Cata Classic for now and have been toying with the idea quitting WoW again, at least till winter comes.

@@danielgomes8538 Nope. I was feeling this way before Cata :-) Like many, I've played WoW since it released or shortly after release. That is a LONG time with a game.
We will never see a proper classic+ from blizzard. Just copy project epoch...its not that hard.

I never cleared, nor plan to step foot inside ST raid, think most of my buddies avoid it as well. So for many of is the content atm is even less than for others.
Why though? It's a pretty fun raid. A bit too much trash but doable. Imagine gatekeeping yourself from content and then complaining there is nothing to do 😂🤡

Most casual players see the raid being 20 man as obstacle number 1... Regardless if it takes that much longer to fill or not, that's just a truth.. many casuals may will not participate in a 20 man raid, but would do two 10 man raids gladly
As well, the raid is a lot longer.
So you spend end up spending 3 hours filling the raid, getting everyone to the raid, and completing the raid.
Just the 'getting' everyone to the raid is so much more annoying with 20 people versus 10.
Me, as a casual who also raid leads for PUGs... I get it.
Sounds like a personal issue for sure. I don't need nothing and clear it every week to play with my guild it's chill fun.
@@brandonmcmaster1181 I don't like forcing myself into doing things I don't like. The gear is not worth it either. Would rather spend extra time in Strat/Scholo to make up for gear next phase.
@@H41030v3rki110ny0u You make a very valid point, however that's not the reason for me since I'm used to raid leading and filling 40 men raids. I just dislike ST and avoid it. Already forced myself into doing Gnomeregan and I'm not better for it.
Sad that it has got this bad, it was such fun playing SOD but if there's nothing to do in the game why would people play it lol
This verson is dead and has been a major letdown zero new content other the pvp events like they really just took dungeons and made them raids, may just be me but i think we all wanted whole new RAIDs not reworked dungeons

What you said about the changes to the world bosses = removal of content, and them not understanding the necessity of them and how it affects the world, is 100% true and one of my biggest issues with this take on 'classic'.
World bosses werent content for the average player only for the a few tryhard guilds on each server camping the spots 24/7 adding the world bosses as Instances is like getting more onyxia raids for everyone.
Its the right move to do keep in mind that a great part of the playerbase dont wanna camp a Boss for hours, everyone speaks like they LOVE World PvP but cry on the forums and quit
