cant argue with that.. JVC made a winner with these.. to bad the newer Kabooms are trash.. if you want a more up to date boomer check out the Sharp GX-BT9X.. bass right up there with the JVC..
I’m there with you, got mine back in 98 so I could take it skating….well I sucked on a skateboard to begin with, trying to lug this beast on one was a no go 🤣 Just dug mine out, going to clean and out ‘er back into service. Also just turned 40🤣 Cheers🍻
I just bought a JVC RV-NB10W from facebook for $90. i guess it was an ok deal. it says it has wireless mp3 not really sure what that is maybe they sold a mp3 player with it? I didn't get the remote or the strap with it.
great deal at $90.. the wireless feature was on the FM band if i recall.. it required a dongle.. im sure there are pictures of it online.. it's not the same as Bluetooth.. i never owned the NB10.. but the "wireless" feature felt more like a novelty than a truly cool thing to me..
I have the exact same JVC RV-NB20, I bought it new many years ago, I have original remote control that came with it (which is RM-SRVNB20A) the Bluetooth Mod is what I'm interested in, it's near mint, and any paint and cosmetic issues I can handle no problem. I really want more details on the Bluetooth mod. Curious why you moved the remote sensor from where it was originally but that's just curiosity. warmest regards -M
i didnt move the remote sensor.. the hole i put in on the bottom was for the remote sensor for the Bluetooth module.. i no longer have the boombox.. gave it to a close friend.. he loves it.. i have made allot of advances since i posted this.. like using a latch switching circuit instead of a physical on/off switch.. plus i plan on incorporating Lithium Ion batteries in the near future to these awesome classics.. cool that you bought the JVC new.. it's the last of the quality RV-NB series Kabooms.. in your case you can just use a Bluetooth dongle from Amazon to achieve what i did without needing to do electrical modding.. just buy one of these.. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B4JTKF6T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 good luck!
Hello, I have the same tape recorder and I am also very pleased with the sound quality, I don’t want to change it! I also plan to add bluetooth, could you tell in more detail about the slots 13 ... 14 ... and what model of bluetooth did you use for earlier thanks!
Hey man, I have the same speaker at home and would love to add bluetooth. Did you follow a guide and if so could you post the link or please elaborate on how you did it and what parts you used :) Subbed!
yea.. i wish i could just point it out.. but i did this mod last summer.. so remembering what goes where is a no go sorry.. you can get the service manual for free online.. just search JVC-RV-NB20.. wish i could be of more help.. the pin out of the connector from the IPOD/AUX IN board to the main board is where you need to be fixated on though.. you need to jump pin 13 to pin 14 if i remember correctly.. this make the unit "think" it has a AUX jack connected in the AUX IN port.. good luck!

in the video i explain the difference.. yours comes with the cassette deck and it has FM wireless microphone capability i think.. the NB20 in this video replaces the cassette mech with the IPOD connector.. otherwise they are the same internally..
I got mine in 98 and still have it to this day .i just turned 40. Its absolutely a prized possession of mine

When adding BT mod, I find it cleaner to go directly to preamp chip inputs.
Nothing wrong with that if that works for you..

Download the free service manual for this model.. I'll explain more later..

Hey Mate, would you share the BT module you used and that remote setup? I've got an RV-B90 i've had for 25 years or so. appreciate your time.

Hi! I just got a JVC RV-NB10B. What's the difference between yours and mine? Is my model any good? What do these model numbers mean anyway?
in the video i explain the difference.. yours comes with the cassette deck and it has FM wireless microphone capability i think.. the NB20 in this video replaces the cassette mech with the IPOD connector.. otherwise they are the same internally..
@@kyfeam thanks!
this. is cool
glad you like it! still have it.. painted it Red White and Blue.. looks even cooler now..
