I had something similar back in the day, I think mine looked a little different, but the same design and by JVC. Was great for keeping around the pool. Ah, the good ol days!!
Yes nice sound,,and powerful bass,, the JVC made a lot of similar design boomboxes,, they look almost identical but...are totally different inside ,more or less power, main deck ,iPod,cassette player, Bluetooth ,i just finished mesuring the decibels..JVC RV-Nb50 .final score 96.2 Db..just finished filming now Sharp vs JVC ,stay tuned for more videos,, thank you very much..
I’ve got the original kaboom box from 1998, cassette/CD that’s it. Might have an aux port I don’t remember. Volume doesn’t work, going to tear apart, clean and use again. Loved it in high school, it’s literally the only thing I wanted one Christmas
This one with ipod on the main board has printed aux in ,but nothing is connected,so rv nb 50 no aux in ...JVC made so many similar models but all are different
Do you know how to remove the mesh from where the drivers are seated (front and side)? I want to repaint mine, but the plastic next to the front facing drivers is impossible to reach like that.
The nets in front of the speaker's are fused solid from factory they can't be removed, you have to try to repair Whit out remove them, the metal nets are easy to bend..try pushing them from inside gently with your fingers.
Just pushing doesnt work, I probably need to hammer them out. I wonder if heating it up would help get it loose. It doesnt seem to be glued in, but maybe the expansion and added elasicity of the plastic may help. I'll update when i tried it.
The bounding between metal and plastic is done at the factory with ultrasound ..the plastic is melted 2 mm and rapidly the nets is put into place ,,,i tried on a HITACHI to heat up around the net whit a lot of heated soldering 100w irons ..and the plastic heated so much i manged to damage the case but the nets won't come out..and i burned ,i was so mad i pulled so hard to break them loose i fractured the case. At this point i was angry with my self,,i cut the nets Whit mini flex,...the video is on my Chanel. Look for HITACHI,,so .....be careful..and good luck with your repair

Before getting to the nets you have to remove the black plastic covers over the speaker's and remove the speaker's..
Good luck with your repair
