Fishing action up in the mountains is what it’s all about. Nothing better. I’ve never seen trout jump out of the water for a lute like that before and the trout swimming in circles had me dying 😂. Lastly, Cassidy out cooked you and it wasn’t even close 🤭
The trout in this lake were some of the craziest fish I've ever encountered for sure! I think the fish in this lake had frickin brain worms or something haha It was a fitting end to an otherwise tough backpacking fishing season. Yeah Cassidy's "Indiana Taco" was looking pretty damn good. I FORGOT MY CHEESE!!! I'll try not to disappoint you again 😂😆
That 10" jumping toward that lure (that's what she said) - was insane. I've never seen anything like that. That tale is going to be told around a fire one night and everyone is going to call BS - great adventure.
A lake where fish actually jump out of the water to bite a lure you are dangling over the water....if it wasn't on video, it would be a fish story ha ha ! Amazing trip.
Excellent point! I don't know if anyone would believe me if I tried to explain what happened. Thank you, it was a pretty amazing trip. Very difficult to get into there so it's doubtful I'll be back to see those lakes/fish again.. but who knows!
Oh nooooo! I've already lied to you then! It's actually Pendleton haha I keep it in that Jim Beam bottle cuz it's light weight and durable and Pendleton comes in a heavy glass bottle that's no good for backpacking. I didn't think it was worth mentioning in the video. Unsubscribe! 🤣😂
Yeah that was wild! Never seen a fish do that before. The fishing at this lake was out of control. It was weird if you didn't catch a fish every cast! Haha Thanks for watching
Yeah I've been using barbless hooks for years. It's the only way to go! When I see people using triple hooks, I cringe big time. It's so destructive to the fish. Thanks for watching!
Holy smokes! What an epic day of fishing, too bad the rain moved in like that. Pretty cool that you captured two of the weirdest fishing things I've ever seen. 1 the fish jumping out of the water multiple times to smack the lure and 2 the only fish nascar fan on the planet, only taking left turns like that.... Wild!! Peak refuel are the only meals I buy anymore, they're the best out there in my opinion. Haven't tried the coconut chicken curry one yet but I'll give it a shot. Chicken pesto is my go to, it's F'n awesome! I think I found these lakes and possibly the trail that you took to get up there but I'm not sure. Looks like the trail stops quite a bit short of the lakes and you had to blaze your own, is that right? I'm hella interested in this spot if that's the case. Would you be willing to share which trailhead you started at? You can send it through messenger if so. As far as I know I'm the only person named Justin Pennick. I have some info that I can share as well if you're interested. I fully understand if not, it's hard to find these places. Thanks for another great video, love the content.
Not a new camera. I have been experimenting with different combos of my existing gear to figure out which is the lightest setup I can carry into the mountains but still get good footage.. sounds like maybe it's this combo haha Uhmmm... Coleman is dead to me! Just because he has "kids" and a "job" and has to "pay the rent," he can't take 3 days in the middle of the week and wander off into the mountains with me!? And yeah.. Cassidy is on that Indiana Taco!
THANK YOU FOR WATCHING!

Just rewatched on this cold, grey rainy day. Thanks for the trip into the mountains that are surely buried in snow today.
Thanks for rewatching. That glacier is probably growing right now! Dunno if I'll ever walk under that thing again. Yikes
Thanks for taking me on that trip! Awesome
Heck yeah! That was a wild ride. Such a beautiful spot but so hard to get to! Fitting :)

@@CascadeBackcountry - with the trout action you got, I'd say you're back within 5 years.
