I think I'm going to watch this movie, well mainly because of Ida Nerina and that guy who is going to portray Tunku Abdul Rahman. Seriously I am not going to see a movie where the casts aren't that good, no matter local or not. Anyway trailer-wise ... woohoo local trailers have improved a lot!
finally a true malaysian movie .this is the kind of movie that we need not stupid gedik,mat motor,minah rempit,lawak bodoh. sorry guys, im a direct person. :D. My suggestion for the next malaysian movie would be a movie of our history way way back. "Parasmeswara" , "Malacca",. lets see whether they can pull it off or not.

It's just that people like SHUMI who was way off better in the days of SELUBONG and LAYAR LARA has evolved into a kind of director who came up wtih WARIS JARI HANTU! Come on people!
I am an absolute PROUD malay! Pontianak script is much better? Are you kidding me? My goodness! Is there any normal malay people who actually speaks with that kind of dialogue! PLEASE!!! I'm no fool. I know quality when i see one.

why shame? just because everything is local we hafto support it? america churns out trash and high quality films as their main export. but do we see them backing everyone one of it? sad. i'd support our sports team wholehearted regardless of their achievement but shumi has disappointed one too many times. of all the things im proud of, being malaysian ranks high up.
I will absolutely watch this movie for sure but i have predicted earlier on how i would feel about the movie afterwards and its not a nice feeling. Been dissapointed once, twice and three times. I can see a pattern here developing. Hopefully this breaks it all.

I USED to be a fan of SHUMI. And yes i agree with you that LAYAR LARA was one of her best work ever. But as for pontianak and the others that came after is just absolutely strong. If your a big fan of SHUMI im sure you would of notice how her screenplay and dialogue of LAYAR LARA and PONTIANAK is absolutely soooo different that the direction she is going with the dialogue is absolutely not acceptable to me. She is not a good story teller as she once was!

You absolute don't get it do u! The story was SUPPOSEDLY to be about that so called SAKA but it turned out that the main plot was the acceptance of the transgender in a family! It absolutely derailed the audience from what they were expecting to watch. FYI i am one of the judges for FFM!
Brainwashing? The conditions were set forth so that the Chinese could go on living in Malaysia. It was that option, or leave for mainland China or Singapore, if they would received more Chinese at that time. What would you have preferred at that time? Accept what was at hand, or pack up and leave?

2 major powerful elements that deceived it MAJOR PLOT! It made its sub plot the MAJOR PLOT where supposedly the MAJOR PLOT was to be the main issue of the film! Me as an audience i would of felt to be made a fool to believe that i would be expecting a story more towards the SAKA itself but not about a TRANSEXUAL! It mislead its viewers. ANd that is never a good thing!
