TOEI sent my 2nd channel 40 strikes for reacting to Dragon Ball Z abridged I fought them and won and an month later they sent me 45 more most of them were vids I already fought and won.
That's totally fucked :/ they should be focusing on the quality of their own shit instead of going after content creators that more or less advertise for them.

to combat this, it seems like thes ebig RUclipsrs will need to send their videos to alt tech platforms that are viable subs for RUclips. Maybe SubscribeStar or Bitchute perhaps? This will keep happening to creators, big or small, unless people start migrating to better platforms

He said he did the math and it would take 37 years to follow the RUclips rules on the number of videos you can get reviewed at a time to have all 150 reviewed and reapproved.
I mean.. When the biggest RUclipsr in the world himself acknowledges how fucked up this is, it says everything. This needs to be sorted out, and quickly too.

It's disgusting watching how large companies can destroy these small individual content creators. Copyright is 50 years out of date and needs to be updated. It only upsets fans who want more information before about the series they love.
Yea its definitely not disgusting that youtube "CreAtOrZ" can leach off famous IPs, barely give an opinion about them and make more hours of "ComTeNt" then the actual show they are covering. I´ve been following Mark for quite some time and I am shocked, disgusted an appauled because of what happened to him, it still feels surreal.. I don´t know if we actualy can make a difference but you don´t know unless you try.. Thank you for having his back, as well as countless other content creaters, this bs can´t go on anymore.

I'm glad that the YT sphere is rallying behind this but to be honest I don't see any changes coming of it since it's been going on for so long, I guess you can say I'm a bit pessimistic about it.

Mark doesnt deserve this whatsoever, he reviews one piece and dragonball, and even shows insight on those anime, mainly dragonball since he has many videos made just for dragonball characters, and this actually helps promote dragonball and one piece, because it shows people how good these anime are
I hadn't read the moro arc yet. Like to be able to binge an arc so I was avoiding his moro video and said screw it the other day and it disappeared while I was watching it.

I've been a Dragonball fan since it first started airing on Toonami back in the 90s. I've been a fan of yours, and of Mark's, for years. What Toei is doing here is unacceptable. Personally, I am ready to boycott all things Toei until this situation is resolved.
I have uploaded arrangements that I reproduced from scratch, where I've sat down and analyzed the music and stuff. Using instrumentation that's unique, adding in little solo bits, adding in countermelodies and maybe some visiual to make it unique or transformative-adding my voice to the piece.
And their automated system still finds me in this little corner of the internet. It's definitely not malicious, but it is abuse of a broken system.
Those videos that got blocked where some of my favourite videos on RUclips, they taught me a lot, and inspired me, it's fucking tragic what's happened

It's clear that Japan needs fair use properly added to its copyright laws. We're not talking about early 2000's or 90's anymore, time and use of copyrighted material in videos has moved forward and evolved since then

Not only Toei itself, companies like Disney, Amazon and social media companies like Facebook and much more other not matter what part of the world are, are abusing their power like that are making huge mistakes with their product's fans. They should change for the better.

TOEI owns Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, PreCure, One Piece,... just avoid those shows, don't watch them. Only read the manga or hope the mangaka change animation company like A-1 or Kyoto Animation or david production,...
Well it's not a bad Idea but changing the animation studio might lead to the change in animation style...
And don't forget Digimon as well. That is also one of Toei Animation's titles.
I won't judge anyone who does but until something is done about this, I won't be watching anything Dragonball related, I won't be buying any Dragonball or anything Toei related and I won't be supporting Toei at all.
I love Toriyama and Oda and their works but I can't in good faith support a company that bullies the little guy and around Christmas at that.
And again, no hate to anybody that continues to watch and support them even if I highly advise against it, but I can't support them.
I'd argue you can still consume Dragon Ball and One Piece related stuff...but in a way that doesn't support Toei ☠⚔⛵

the manga isn't owned by toei at all, so I feel as though on that end supporting their work is still possible without supporting toei.

As an attorney myself, I hope that RUclips can create a better system which is more favourable toward content creators.
I'm a huge fan of Mark and it breaks my heart that he's enduring this right now. It's never fun to deal with. Hopefully he gets his videos back ASAP.
That actually really bothered me. Mark used one of my tracks for a couple of my videos which helped me get quite a bit more subs than I had before. I really hope that this blows over because Mark's one hell of a content creator.
There are so many problems with this platform.
Like these rules change on a whim or are applicable when the higher-ups or companies feel like it. And ironically some of these rules aren't applicable on the advertisers.

If I go to Mexico for example, I expected to be be held to Mexican laws. I would not be held to US laws just because that is my place of origin. See what I mean?

I remember the copyright strike period. Got a small group channel and we got a strike from Sony Music for using a song of theirs while we talked over it for an anime review and we couldn't upload anything over 15 minutes for months
Its sad to see this happen to him, he makes some really good videos, especially his character analyses videos.
content creators should go together and file a complaint against youtube, kind of similar to a "class action" complaint to get somewhere with this stupidity.
Thank you for putting this video out, I value your knowledge and insight on this greatly. I guess to share my experiences with people, It's interesting you say that 99% of the time the strikes go away. I wish this were the case for my as I've received strikes from "Dam Inspectors" (legit, this is the truth, an actual dam inspector) on a video and my counter claim was denied, and as well with many other of my strikes over the, I'll say 7 years doing anime content consistently. It's so bad for me that I used to be one of the original ReZero Content Creators and Kadokawa last year destroyed many channels to the point where I had to stop doing ReZero stuff. I think out of the nearly 100 or strikes I've gotten a majority of them have went away, but when they don't it's extremely frustrating. I recorded a video about Mark's situation recently and as soon as I hit the red button to stop recording, I went to my Dashboard and I got a strike from SME Japan on an Eighty Six video I recently had done. It's a constant barrage, and typically happens to me every December/January too, which is the worst part - I can brace myself for this stuff to happen every December for me.
I'm rambling a little bit, but none the less, thank you for putting this out and speaking on it and for helping out Mark and the others that you do. It inspires me to be as giving and inspiring as you are.
The fact Pewdie-Pie and Philip Defranco made a video on this just shows you how big of a problem this is. I don’t watch his videos, but his influence speaks for itself.
This saddens me that the once beloved site has now become the thing that the former creators hate, and I can no longer support youtube any longer. Who will stand with me and geekdom.

No offense but this is why is always bad to try to make youtube your only source of income, when things like this happen you are basically screwed. Always consider being a youtuber as a hobby on the side, get a regular job as the main source of income cuz you know its always consistent. Also japan doesnt have fair use laws so they can strike any content of theirs being used by other people, there is little youtube can do about that like it or not.
Sony Japan is guilty of this too. I do parody dubs and this happens all the time. Sometimes I even do just enough to make a video transformative but my videos still gets blocked

Toei is too corrupted I rmm seeing something like this years ago when abridged was still going on back in 2015 and all their videos were blocked or copyrighted can’t remember. TFS did what they had to and fought for their videos so yeah you’re right to be optimistic

Idk what’s been going on recently but a lot of RUclipsrs dealing with anime content have started getting flags, like 5 of my favorites have either gotten flagged or blocked their channel within the last 3 months

It's far cheaper for RUclips to kick creators to the curb than litigate endless claims by big companies. Until that changes RUclips will continue to do this.
The problem with saying they lose the right to claim after abuses, is that then the companies will sue YT for not providing a way to stop infringement.

Wow. Wouldn't think Geekdom's audience would be the first one have multiple dummies actually on Toei's side, but here we are I guess. When Scare's audience is more understanding, it's definitely saying a lot. Guys, Mark isn't stealing anything. Hes been entertaining the majority of us for years. Support him. It has nothing to do with stealing and more to do with how his content in the eyes of a Japanese company doesn’t fall under fair use. Toei basically owns the IP’s and they can do what they want with it. I don’t agree with it, but it’s how it is. The way they see it is that Mark is profiting off of their IP’s and they’re not ok with it, RUclips can’t do shit because first they’re a Japanese company and there is no such thing as fair use in Japan and another thing fair use only protects Americans, which last I checked Mark isn’t.
@@Anon9729X RUclips is based in California, they are not a Japanese company. There is also no international copyright law where a company in one country can issue their laws in other countries. Toei would have jurisdiction to block the videos only in Japan, not the whole world.

1. Toei needs to fire that intern.
2. Screw culture differences - the respect the old suits in Japan want isn't even reciprocated in the least towards the love these creators give their product and the advertising they're getting out of them which saves them millions because we tune in and they keep the flame lit whereas Toei doesn't even know what it wants it should do with its own franchise.
3. Mark did what he did and it shook some pillars with so I'm glad the he did things different than you would've brother, because back screen pleading to a shallow and uncaring system is why this is still going on to this day.

The only way a corporation will be held to the standard the rest of us are held to, is if they are sued for their behavior, who cares who they target, the fact remains Toei, ect, should not be able to use their countries strict laws on copyrighted content in a American website, the fact is they should be handling it through their American office that way they can be held to account when found into the wrong.

Well it doesn't really matter if you win because the company or individual striking you still takes whatever money you would have gotten from the time they strike you, until the time the strike is lifted. You never get those funds back. That's the most fucked up part of the copyright system. I had some random guy strike one of my bigger videos and the second I appealed it and made legal threats the random dude fucked off. He tried to claim me for using NASA space footage (and he definitely wasn't with NASA) in a video he uploaded like 2 years after mine. The copyright system is fucked.
I haven't been subbed for a minute since some of the uploads spoil me for if and when the animation comes back. Glad to see you're still doing well and you support him through this. I'm done with this show the taste of bully will ruin anything new I watch.
It’s cases like this that RUclips should revoke the instant copyright claims for companies like Toei. They’ve shown clear abuse of the policy and from this point, any claims must be manually reviewed from RUclips before it’s approved as a strike. That’s bullshit
