This feels like a really nice "bridging the gap" suit between the older movie suits and the 85. I still like the 85 more due to it resembling the classic comic Iron Man armors but this one is a top tier suit as well.

The honeycomb grill pieces throughout the suit serve to allow breathing room for the actor who is in the suit from the parks (unless I am mistaken). I think it’s a neat aspect, not only for the little detail and meaning behind it, but aesthetically.

I've been off the Iron Man train for a while but this is a MUST GET.
Worth it!
Fun fact: the designer of this suit, Andy Park, noted that with the mark 85 being based off of the classic model 4 iron man armour in its colouring and "muscular" appearance.
This suit to bridge the more modern predominantly red suits to the more gold 85 he based it off of the neo-classic armour from the 80s in the colouring (the red shoulders, gold arms and sides of the torso).
Especially as it's quite bulkier in areas it helped translate this more nanotech looking suit into a practical suit as it's more a blend of nanotech and bulkier mechanical sections
Also my own perception here, the legs where it's all red with a small gold panel reminds me of the modular armour as the neoclassic armour was basically like the classic legs just big Megaman bulky boots. So it's like a hybrid of the next two primary looks for him to bridge the gap (it's evolving backwards for real) while also being its own thing.

Excellent description. As soon as I saw this armor, it reminded me of the late 80's comic book armor you mention (although I didn't know it was called neo-classic).
I never knew this armor existed but now I'm glad it does because the gold on the torso and red shoulder pads give me big Modular armor vibes and I love imagining what that suit would look like if it was ever adapted for the MCU.

Torn on this one. I am an Iron Man collector and this is a new numbered armor. But it didn't appear in live action so I think I could be ok with passing on this. But I'm glad to see that it wasn't just a lazy repaint. They actually changed up some things

I’m really happy with this EXCEPT for the lack of vents to the sides of the mouth. It’s a big aspect of the 80 design and would differentiate the head more from the 85.

I'd love an Avengers Campus Captain America. It's a modified version of the AOU suit. I love the brighter reds and blues, with the white biceps and the longer gauntlets. I do hope we get a First Avenger or Golden Age 2.0 soon as well.

Nice review. It does look good. I am one of those who bought the custom panels for the mark 85. The custom inner thigh panels not only bridge the gap between the crotch and the notch on the leg but it also beefs it up. Once you see the difference there’s no going back. Wish Hot Toys would’ve beefed it up as well so his legs don’t look like sticks. Other than that he look great.

This is fundamentally a new suit, not a repaint or re-release. Based on the new designs, slightly taller and bulkier size I actually prefer this aesthetically over the M85, although M85 being the more legendary of the two.
If it weren't for your video wouldn't have known this was a thing. I immediately created an account at the Disney website, and ordered it seconds after it was launched. Surprisingly it has not soldout yet, And I'm thinking about picking up a 2nd.

I doubt it's possible, but I feel like having 85s legs on the 80 would be the perfect layout of red and gold for me. The gold boost on the sides is great, and those 'vent' bits. Most of these Disneyland designs are a really nice compromise of practicality and style.

Out of curiosity, and mostly because I’ve not been to the Avengers Campus before, are there really any other characters they would make? I mean, from what I’ve seen online, it seems like a majority of the face characters, and even some of the masked characters, have identical costumes to their movie counterparts. In the case of this Iron Man and the Spider-Man, I’m proven wrong, but I wanted to know your thoughts on who else they might make in the future?
I'd like to see Cap perhaps, or even that King Thanos they just showed!
I dont mind iron man figures. I personally only have one and dont need anymore. But they are too good looking for hot toys to just stop making them. I feel like he is their signature figure.

So what’s the difference between this mark 80 and the one currently available on sideshow, cause it looks like it has different accessories including a holographic style spider bot instead and no shawarma, I’m also a bit apprehensive of it cause it says that it’s limited to 2,000 but is still available after it came out where as with other limited editions like Scorch were gone in less than 45min of its pre order release, is there something wrong with it or do people just not like the suit or think it’s too similar to the mark 85 or are only interested in screen appearances of his suit?

I really want to get the Deadpool and Wolverine from (funnily enough😂) Deadpool and Wolverine, but I’d really like to extend that with more figures. Do you have any suggestions of where to start/ go from there? (I’m a really hardcore marvel fan, with Star Wars coming in a close second)

Hey man, from time to time, I like watching your videos. I'm not an avid collector of Hot Toys myself. I do own two, 1978 Christopher Reeve Superman and the Mandalorian Boba Fett Repaint. I'm mostly a G1 MP Transformers collector. I just like seeing what lovely stuff Hot Toys brings out through your videos but what I find funny is every time I watch one of your videos, you are always complaining about the stand they come with. Maybe not always, maybe just the ones I've seen to be fair. LOL! I've watched your videos enough over the years to know you are a thorough guy when it comes to these things so I know I'm definitely missing something. But anyway, what gives?
