This brought my beloved speaker back to life - it has been almost a year now!
They all wanted to charge me like $100 to replace the battery and whatnot but I refused, and all it needed was this minute long video.
    Thank you so much!

Thanks for the instructions on accessing the Bose app backdoor. As a UI/UX developer, it blows me away why Bose doesn't just go ahead and put in an "Advanced Settings" capability that is accessible with a button. Having a backdoor in the application for firmware reset, at this day-and-age, is ridiculous. Sincere thanks techTOP!

Even after changing the battery I still had the blinking red... Only after the ADV up/down trick and re-flashing 1.1.4 the speaker came to life again, THANK YOU! Now I wonder if the original battery was really bad at all, I only had the speaker for a couple of years.

This was my last option, Bose website doesn't tell you about advanced more or forcing an update. This worked to fix my Bose Soundlink Mini II. Would not operate at all on battery alone, would only flash red fast blinking light on electric plug. Bose website said my product was up to date. I did the forced install to install the 1.1.4 update again and my speaker works great again. Thank You so much for this video. Please keep up the awesome job.

Okay, what the damn hell? Most RUclips stuff usually never works but this actually worked... I was seriously about 5 minutes away from just tossing this thing in the trash too. A little note to others, after the update, my blinking red light turned solid red instead and I had to plug the USB into the speaker itself to charge. It still wouldn't charge on the dock. I had to charge all the way with the cable first and then dock charging worked again..Again, thanks a lot. I can't even imagine what I would have had to go through with Bose's customer support. Thanks for saving me the headache!

This fix is still going strong!! Thank you so very, very much!!
For me, the firmware was up to date so had to use ADV UP DOWN and was then given the option to "update" to the same version I already had. Let it run and voila! All done! Anyone struggling, make sure you have a cable that handles data and not just a charging cable.
    Thanks again!!

Aww snap! ITS ALIVE. Man you are the best. I have been burning my eyes on the Bose support page for 2 hours, seeing many unhappy customers with this exact issue and after the 36th page I was about to hang in the towel and bury my 2nd Soundlink Mini II (I have owned 3 including an original Soundlink Mini I) a few years back. Glad I checked RUclips for an anwser. Who the heck knew?! A D C up down. Anyone else getting flashbacks of playing Contra for the NES in the late 80's?

Tried so many things prior to this video and nothing worked. Even spent money on a new battery. Which i realised was not that easy to switch battery on a mini v2 speaker. So before switching battery (which in the end was not needed), i found this video and it worked!
I don't understand why the bose updater app, does not recognize that an update is needed? Very bad. Only until you follow these steps, that it forces an update. Which then fixes the issue. Thank you for this video.

This is brilliant, it fixed my problem. Thank you very much. I would also add that the Bose Updater is a web-based programme, and the installer is just there to facilitate the web browser identifying your device. You might have to wait for a few seconds before it recognizes your device - click on the top right of the browser under "Supported Products" and then it will normally trigger your PC or Mac to detect your device. I did not have to to the A,D,V thing to go into advanced mode, it all updated the software by itself. Thanks again.

Hi, you made my day, as this advanced mode is still working. Even when you are on the latest software release. You just have to wait until the webpage is prompting with the message "Your software is up to date" and the type A,D,V with arrows UP and DOWN and the advanced mode appears. Just update the software and during the update process the red light fades and you'l hear some familiar beeps and sounds from the speaker. Wait until the update has finished.
