To be honest I was a bit skeptical with this video because this was posted 4 years ago but OMG it worked!!!! Wow. I thought my speakers are forever gone or I’d have to pay extra for repair. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Multumesc 🙏🏼
Razvan, you are a genius buddy. If ever you are in Australia, I want to buy you a beer. In fact, I want to buy you several beers. You have just saved me from taking my Bose Mini Speaker to have it fixed as the unit would not charge. I couldn't be happier mate. After watching your video, my speaker is working again, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I'm pretty sure that whoever I took it to to have it looked at would have probably just updated the software / firmware and charged me around $150 bucks telling me they spent hours on it. LOVE YA WORK. Regards Silver
Thank you very much, I will take on that and the next time I will visit your beautiful country, we'll try have those beers 😃 I know your frustration because I thought i'll throw mine too, before I found this workaround. Take care!
this works really well thank you ! just a note to others, as Razvan syas, you need to keep the speaker on the dock at all times from then on as it powers out SUPER fast off the dock. I just repeated the same update process to kick it back into shape. I expect at some stage I will need to replace the battery if this docking process isn't versatile enough.
Amazing I spent 5 hours trying to find a solution and watching tons of videos that didn't work. Shame on bows for not giving this explanation on their actual website. The regular update didn't work but using your method work brilliantly and just save me a lot of time effort and headache and more importantly money
Thank you. Initially the Bose updater said my software was up-to-date. But when I updated anyway (following your instructions) the red light went away. Yay!!
Thanks for this advise, pretty clear and useful. Key thing is that to move to advance mode in Bose Updater page, you have to press A,D,V, arrow up, arrow down, one after the other!....there where some few other videos where indicated to press all keys at a time, did not work!...I am glad found this video to correct this part.
Maaaaan you are the GOAT my speaker stopped charging yesterday and was completely dead just had the flashing red light. The software update did the trick. Charging back up now 💯💯💯
Thanks Razvan! Last night was totally disaster. My Soundlink was keep flashing in red after more than a month not using it. After try your tips more than 3 times, my Bose started to blink in orange and then green. Fantastic!!
I had searched all over to find out how to resolve this issue and your information corrected the issue I reloaded the firmware and it was fixed. Thank you for that.
Thank you very much Razvan!!!! I have spent a couple of hours looking at different sites, videos etc. Your video was the best, especially the A, D, V up down (I had been on the Bose site with it plugged in and nothing until I did that!!) THANK YOU AGAIN!!! Follow these simply instruction if your having issues!!
Hi Razvan Many thanks for posting this fix my speaker was stuck with red flashing light (left it overnight on charge without success). My software was up to date , used the same version and it showed signs of life at nearly 80%. Currently now charging. Thank-you 😊
It worked using my Mac! Thank you so much for this really helpful video. Saved me buying a new speaker! Bose really should highlight this software issue more clearly…
Thank you for the feedback :) I don´t see why BOSE would do anything about this issue, as this generates more sales for them. No company is on the market for the wellbeing of the client. Take care !
Thankyou , you saved my dead speaker and brought it back to life after searching youtube for hours and i was nearly having to go and buy a new battery off ebay , your a credit to youtube so thanks again :)

thankyou thankyou! Like others I searched and tried Bose info, then other forums/videos and was about to buy a battery and learn how to solder it in. Shame on Bose for making this fix so tricky to find and a huge thankyou Razvan!
It worked! I was just about to throw this thing in the trash. Every other video I found showed to do the update, but mine said it was already up-to-date. I was losing hope, but the advanced menu option that forces a reinstall worked. It reminded me of the old Nintendo update up,down, up, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, B, Start! Infinite lives! The Bose speaker lives on! Thank you!
Hello Rick my friend, I am glad to read your message full of enthusiasm. I felt 100% what you feel, I was about to go in a vacation with my girlfriend and wanted to take the speaker with us and it was dead, it was such a surprise for an almost new product. Then I found this solution and it came back to live. Thank you too,Raz
thanks man i was really scared that it was the end, i got this speaker since 6 or 7 years maybe. first time i had this problem and in 10mins it was fixed. TY

Your delivery and instructions were so clear and you have made me a very happy lady today! THANK YOU for both your knowledge and for you taking to time to record this video to benefit others. It's really kind and appreciated.. Anna
Hey Anna, many thanks for the kind feedback 😀 I am glad that your speaker is back to life. It was very frustrating to me when mine got the red light too. Take care!
This WORKS !!!! I had two speakers same seemingly fault, but this simple download work a treat. When typing ADV up arrow down arrow make sure you use capitals......that's al it takes, Thank you Razvan
I almost went down the road of buying a new battery (don't make me solder motherboards) or a whole new unit. I "upgraded" my firmware from 11.4 to 11.4 which seemed idiotic but absolutely did the trick. I love this little speaker and its sound quality.
Thank you so much! Your video was the only one that explained how to do the 'advance settings' on the Bose Software Updater. This information was pure gold, my Bose Soundlink Mini Special Edition has been 'blinking red' and nothing else I tried would work. It is now happily charging. Thank you, amazing advice!!!
@@razvanyke it really did work. Just FYI, I had let the battery on the Bose Mini get too low, 10%. I plugged it in to charge, there was an initial response, then when I came back a few hours later the red light was flashing. I tried several things recommended on other You Tube videos, including pressing the middle button for 10 seconds, nothing happened, factory reset - nothing happened, connecting to Bose Updater - it said my firmware was up to date. I was definitely stuck. I looked again thru the You Tube videos and watched yours because your video title was so specific. The guidance to open up the Advance Settings on the Bose updater site was pure gold. Maybe you could include in the title something to do with this - it's the one piece of info the others don't have. Well done!
Hey Razvan. Thanks so much for posting this. I thought I had tried everything to fix the flashing red light issue, to no avail. Finally saw and watched your video which fixed the issue just as you indicated. Why Bose make it so hard I don’t know, but you are a genius. Cheers, Bruce
Dear Bruce, thank you for the kind feedback :D I am glad you brought your speaker back to life. If BOSE would post the video with the repair, they would not sell new speakers / nor charge big $$ for repairs which are doing exactly the above.
Brilliant it works not used mine for a year couldn't get it working due to red flashing light. Firmware was upto date and reflashed it all working. Thanks
This still works. I noticed that I have a newer version of the Bose speaker with the USB C connection vs the older Micro USB connection. I looked on the Bose web site and they do not talk about the ADVC up down arrow... (I thought you were bullshitting here) but it actually does work. Thanks!!!
Thank you so much from France ! I thought the battery was dead, but it's not. At last the orange light has come black, i think you've fixed my problem 🙏🙏 !
this worked perfect! my speaker was up to date so following the instructions for advanced mode and clicking update was the steps that worked for me. thank you so much!
Thanks a lot … your suggestion solved the problem. Cannot believe that Bose has not given this option on their website. Was struggling for half a day to solve this issue.
Singh my friend, thanks for the feedback:)! If they would add this solution on their website, people would not buy new ones not knowing what caused the issue 🙈. Take care!
Yes you are a hero , it took me two attempts over two days , changing the cable may help as it could be faulty. I got it going you saved us some $$. Thank you very much indeed.
Thank you. I just did this and it worked perfectly. Only thing is to see how long it lasts before I have to do it again. And I'm happy for everyone else who gained from this, it's really frustrating to pay alot for something that doesn't last or have to pay alot to get it fixed.
Hey my friend, many thanks for the feedback 😀 Mine, from the video still works today, but if you leave it unused again, it will go back to the shipping modus. Stay healthy!
Thank you ! After more than an hour of fiddling with increasing annoyance, luckily I came across your explanation and the problem was solved in 1 go! It is outrageous to put an expensive product on the market in such a minimal way. Box almost thrown out the window. Bose resembles the word Boos in Dutch and means Angry !
Hello Lode, thank you for the feedback:) It might be economically more convenient for BOSE to not release this solution, so people will pay the repair (which might be exactly this) or purchase a new product. Enjoy the speaker !

I was reading everything on Bose website and forums and could not find an answer y til I watched this. I had my speaker ready for the bin and you with this video have brought it back to life. Thank you 🙏
@iansimpson720 good job :) This is a victory for both. Enjoy!
To be honest I was a bit skeptical with this video because this was posted 4 years ago but OMG it worked!!!! Wow. I thought my speakers are forever gone or I’d have to pay extra for repair. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Multumesc 🙏🏼
@@lean.guevarra many thanks for the feedback 😃 I am glad it worked
Razvan, you are a genius buddy. If ever you are in Australia, I want to buy you a beer. In fact, I want to buy you several beers. You have just saved me from taking my Bose Mini Speaker to have it fixed as the unit would not charge. I couldn't be happier mate. After watching your video, my speaker is working again, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I'm pretty sure that whoever I took it to to have it looked at would have probably just updated the software / firmware and charged me around $150 bucks telling me they spent hours on it. LOVE YA WORK.
Regards
Silver
Thank you very much, I will take on that and the next time I will visit your beautiful country, we'll try have those beers 😃 I know your frustration because I thought i'll throw mine too, before I found this workaround. Take care!
this works really well thank you ! just a note to others, as Razvan syas, you need to keep the speaker on the dock at all times from then on as it powers out SUPER fast off the dock. I just repeated the same update process to kick it back into shape. I expect at some stage I will need to replace the battery if this docking process isn't versatile enough.
Thank you, I am glad it worked 😃
Amazing I spent 5 hours trying to find a solution and watching tons of videos that didn't work. Shame on bows for not giving this explanation on their actual website. The regular update didn't work but using your method work brilliantly and just save me a lot of time effort and headache and more importantly money
Thank you for the feedback 😃
Thank you. Initially the Bose updater said my software was up-to-date. But when I updated anyway (following your instructions) the red light went away. Yay!!
Thank you for the feedback:) glad it worked
Since few month I couldn´t restart my bose box,....even the bose-website couldn´t help. Thanks to this video it words again. Thankts a lot!!
You are welcome my friend :)

Could not get my speaker to work at all until watching this. Thankyou!
Hello Darling : ) I am glad that now it works, enjoy your "new" speaker! Stay healthy
Dear Julio, thanks for the feedback :) I am glad it worked
Maaaaan you are the GOAT my speaker stopped charging yesterday and was completely dead just had the flashing red light. The software update did the trick. Charging back up now 💯💯💯
THank you for sharing :D I am glad it´s back to life !
Initially, i thought it was a battery problem so i replaced battery and remains same problem this video works perfectly. thank you so much !😃
Hello my friend, good job 😃 One battery you can sell further
Thanks Razvan! Last night was totally disaster. My Soundlink was keep flashing in red after more than a month not using it. After try your tips more than 3 times, my Bose started to blink in orange and then green. Fantastic!!
Hey my friend, thank you for the feedback 😃
I had searched all over to find out how to resolve this issue and your information corrected the issue I reloaded the firmware and it was fixed. Thank you for that.
Thank you for the comment, I am glad it helped :)
Hey Brent, good news 😃🙏 I am glad it worked. Take care!
Hi Razvan Many thanks for posting this fix my speaker was stuck with red flashing light (left it overnight on charge without success). My software was up to date , used the same version and it showed signs of life at nearly 80%. Currently now charging. Thank-you 😊
Hey my friend, good news then 😃 Enjoy it and save my video because it will happen again if left unused for a while 🙈.
Thank you for the kind feedback 🙏 I am glad it worked well :)
Thanks so much! The only method that worked for my speaker! After trawling through countless fix videos and not finding a solution to the flashing red light, we finally have a working speaker! 🎉
I am glad it worked, my friend :D ! Enjoy your new speaker and take care !
Thank you so much for this video. I thought my mini link was dead and thinking of getting a new one. But I came across your this video, followed the instructions you've mentioned and it worked. Saved me. It worked without typing letters got easily updated. Thank you again. Really appreciate.
Hey Anu, you are very welcome 😃
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! It worked 👍👍👍👍 I've had this speaker sitting in a drawer for years and almost threw it away on several occasions. Just wanted to give it one last try - and then came across your video. And now it just stands there CHARGING 🤩 Unbelievable! Thank you soooooo much.
Now that's a cool feedback 😃 Many thanks, I am glad it works 😘🤗
What a life saver!! thanks so much. Funny how Bose does not mention this in their troubleshooting site!
thank you!
@@cesalberto7585 thank you, my friend 🙏 I thought BOSE will get in touch and put this on their Website. But hey, what Business is on the market NOT to have more sales?
This method worked for my device as well.. I was in progress with checking the HW (opened up and take out the battery) but after following the instructions which worked very well for me.. the device was good again!
Hey, thanks for the feedback 😃 I am glad it worked.
thankyou thankyou! Like others I searched and tried Bose info, then other forums/videos and was about to buy a battery and learn how to solder it in. Shame on Bose for making this fix so tricky to find and a huge thankyou Razvan!
You are welcome my friend 😃
TY
Cheers, I am glad it worked :)
Hi... I am SO grateful to you! I followed your instructions (who knew just pressing some keys onto a webpage would make something appear?!) and my speaker now works.
Thank you my friend, I appreciate the Support 😃
I almost went down the road of buying a new battery (don't make me solder motherboards) or a whole new unit. I "upgraded" my firmware from 11.4 to 11.4 which seemed idiotic but absolutely did the trick. I love this little speaker and its sound quality.
Good work 😃
Excellent! I found no other videos that worked. Yours did. MUST use A, D, V, UP, DOWN. You saved my speaker!
Thank you.😄
Hey Richard, thanks for the feedback 😃 Glad it worked
Thank you so much! Your video was the only one that explained how to do the 'advance settings' on the Bose Software Updater. This information was pure gold, my Bose Soundlink Mini Special Edition has been 'blinking red' and nothing else I tried would work. It is now happily charging. Thank you, amazing advice!!!
Hello Julie, thank you for the kind feedback 😀 I am glad it worked!
Well done!
Legend, thank you!! I think you have saved me for about 4 years in a row now! SO appreciate you, and this video!!
Hello there, many thanks for the kind words 😃 See you soon
You saved my speaker, by going to the advanced setting in Bose website and forcing the update again (1.1.4) the speaker came to life. Thank you
Dear Peter, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! I am glad your speaker is working again 😃 Stay healthy!
Brilliant it works not used mine for a year couldn't get it working due to red flashing light. Firmware was upto date and reflashed it all working. Thanks
Thank you 🙏 My very own is not working again 😃 If we do not use it then it will be again in the same status.
This still works. I noticed that I have a newer version of the Bose speaker with the USB C connection vs the older Micro USB connection. I looked on the Bose web site and they do not talk about the ADVC up down arrow... (I thought you were bullshitting here) but it actually does work. Thanks!!!
Hey James, thanks for the feedback 😃
Followed the steps and it worked, absolutely brilliant, was abouts to buy a new battery thinking it was faulty
Thank you for the feeback, I am glad it helped :D ! Happy holidays !
YOU ABSOLUTE HERO.
I went through so many forums trying to figure out how to fix this 😭
Thank you, enjoy 😀
Thank you so much from France ! I thought the battery was dead, but it's not. At last the orange light has come black, i think you've fixed my problem 🙏🙏 !
Hey, de rien 😀 I am glad it worked, enjoy! Thank you
this worked perfect! my speaker was up to date so following the instructions for advanced mode and clicking update was the steps that worked for me. thank you so much!
Good to know, glad I could help 😃
Thanks a lot … your suggestion solved the problem. Cannot believe that Bose has not given this option on their website. Was struggling for half a day to solve this issue.
Singh my friend, thanks for the feedback:)! If they would add this solution on their website, people would not buy new ones not knowing what caused the issue 🙈. Take care!
Yes you are a hero , it took me two attempts over two days , changing the cable may help as it could be faulty. I got it going you saved us some $$. Thank you very much indeed.
Hello my friend, thank you for the feedback 😀🙏
@@razvanyke Hi Razvan Andries, yes that will certainly be the case. Making and selling something that is almost broken. We end up digging our own grave. But don't end up too negative; we are happy with the sound ! Kind regards Lode Bruins
Thanks so much! Tried several different options and was resining myself to purchasing a new battery for install or replacing all together, wife was happy her speaker works again.
Cheers to you and to the wife, when they are happy, we are too :)
Thanks a lot. My speaker has been showing red light for months and I thought it was an issue with the battery and I was thinking of changing the battery. I'm happy I came across this video. I followed the instructions in the video and my speaker is back to live again. I'm so happy!
Hey Irikefe, thanks for sharing, I am glad you can use again your speaker :)
Thanks buddy, your trick worked and my speaker started charging again
You are welcome, save this video and come again :) because it will happen again.
I hope both sides of your pillows are cold, that you never burn your tongue on your food, that you always find an extra $20 in your jeans or wallet, I hope you meet the love of your life and spend a beautiful lifetime together because you are literally the only person who has helped me solve this problem.
This must be the best wish ever 😃 Thanks for the feedback, enjoy the "new speaker"!
RAZVAN you revived my speaker! Thank you so much you are sent from above. Praying for you from afar.^^
Hello, good to know 😃 I am glad it now works again
Worked like a charm. I have been using this speaker for at least 5 years. This is the first time I am experiencing such thing and thanks to you, the issue is solved. Just followed all of your steps without any stress.
Thanks for sharing this, yeah the sound is awesome and for such a high quality built speaker, the software is a bit flimsy and is scaring the buyers. I do wonder how many people have not seen this workaround and just bought a new one :(
Looks like it still works in 2023! Mini II is currently charging again, thanks!
Enjoy, thank you 😃
You're a life saver friend. At first i thought its a battery issue since its more than 6 yrs old, i had it replaced. All good now 😊
Thank you, my friend 😃 I am glad you liked the video, save it because the speakers tend to return to shipping modus after a while.
I was about to bin my Soundlink too, when I found this post. It worked! Thank you.
Hey Andrew, thanks for the feedback 😃
Your instructions were very simple and very clear to follow-up. Although, I had to repeat the processes several times. Nevertheless, my Mini Soundlink 2 is now functioning again. Thank you very much for your tutorial! Super helpful!
Hey Mark, many thanks for the kind feedback 😃
Many thanks - it worked. This is the internet showing people at their best; helpful and supportive. Most appreciated. Razvan rocks. May good fortune come your way.
Thank you my friend 😃🙏 Glad to help!
Many thanks Razvan, brought the beast back to life from the annoying red light. Saved the day as i was ready to undo the whole thing to replace the battery. Thanks again.
Dear Pierre, thank you for the feedback, I am glad you could bring it back to life :D ! Be aware that it will happen again if you do not keep it charged all the time. BR,Raz
Thanks alot for this! Just fixed my mini 2 that's been unused for years. Was about to order a new battery before i found your vid.
You are welcome, I did not know they sell batteries separately. Take care!
thanks for sharing! Now I hope it was only a software glitch which freezed our speakers and not a real battery failure
My pleasure 🤗
Success, I managed to find few other wires to plug it into and the update screen changed to enable it to update software using Mac.thank you
Great news 🥳 Thanks for sharing
It worked even without taping the letters. I have a Soundlink Mini 1. Thank you so much!
Hey Julia, many thanks for the feedback! Enjoy your "new" speaker 😃
Many thanks ,clearly explained, and it worked. Note if the download fails, keep trying , mine downloaded 100% after 4 tries
Hey Nic, you are welcome! I am glad it worked :) stay healthy
it is showing "no dice, there is no available updates for this product"
how can I re-install it?
Brilliant thank you. All the info and links to recover my speaker. Two minute fix for an error I had never seen before after many years of use.
Thank you for the kind feedback 😃
Your solution worked like a charm. Can't believe Bose does not show you this on their website. Thank you!
Dear Michael, this is so kind from you. As a fan of BOSE I am honoured to help others who thought they lost their speaker. If Bose will want this video on their website, it can help even more people. Stay healthy, Raz
i was worried i had to buy a new battery for my Bose Soundlink Mini II. But glad that i found your video, Razvan! It helped me, thumbs up for you Razvan!
Thank you :) Glad I could help
Fantastic. I had watched so many videos with no luck and you solved it in two minutes!!
Hey my friend ! :D Thank you for the comment, best spent 2 minutes of today, right? Take care !
Thank you.
I tried it with my bose soundlink mobile speaker 2 and it didn't work at first, but after 1000 attempts I simply reset it and it just worked
Hey Kevin, thank you :) Never give up, right? Stay healthy
How do you reset it? I did the update several times and at the end still blinking red. Tried leaving it on charge as well.
@@rdrobbins5 I have the same problem. Did you find a solution?
HOLY CRAP!!!! This actually worked! Dude, you saved me money. I appreciate you for uploading and sharing this video. :)
Hey my friend, glad it worked 😃 Take care! Thanks for the feedback
Many thanks Razvan - I tried other fixes to no avail, but this solution worked first time. Massively helpful, and has saved me the hassle of dusting off the soldering iron. 👍
Hey my friend, many thanks for the feedback. I am glad it worked 😀
It worked for me, thanks very much for sharing. I really thought I was going to have to install a new battery, you have saved me a lot of hassle.
Hey Dan, thank you 😃 I am glad it worked
Thanks sooooo much! It worked exactly as you described. Very happy. Yay I have my Soundlink Mini 2 back!
Hey, thank you for the feedback :D I am glad it worked. Enjoy !
