Not necessarily. If you use your original hardware from your current stock battery, you don't have to. Only if you use the hardware provided with the Antigravity battery. Thanks bro and be safe riding!
I just installed mine on my 2023 R1. The screws that come with the battery is to large to fit into the holes of the prongs. I just used the tap drill I used to tap the shift lever so I can switch it to GP shift. I initially tried to use the screws from the original battery however it wouldn't catch on the other side.
@@lubetube. So Then... why didn't you re-use the original batteries hardware with the correct size bolt exactly? Thank You for the vid as well!!i Also... I just sold my 2023 zx14r abs, it would show the voltage output which was always 14.2-14.4 volts - I am looking to buy a 2024 Yamaha YZF-R1 and your iR1showing less than 14 volts output, I believe you have a charging problem?
When I removed mine, something came with the battery and fell inside the bike. It wasn't any of the two bolts, it was something behind the battery. Do you know what it is?
@@lubetube. Well I found out what it was. It was the * I don't know the name in the English language * thingies that are inside the negative and positive metal cases of the battery lol. Where the screws screw. One of them fell inside the bike 😂
Why did you have to drill the gold prongs out? Will I have to if I buy this for my 2021 r1?

Just Asking. is it generally ok to install lithium ion batteries laying down ?
I think so . Never had any problem yet. Still in the bike. Was installed @ 9,742k and the bike now has 29,960k on it.
@@lubetube. holy shet 😂😂😂 i think its safe to say yes. I ask because it actually sits lower and safer on the R1 laying down

Can't say I do. Did it sound metallic when it fell?
