I appreciate that you show us how we can add this to any sized bag with the side panels. This gives me the ability to add to the bags I make. I'm such a novice that I usually have to follow videos/patterns exactly for fear of making a mess. LOL Thank you.
This is exactly what I was needing! Thank you so much! I made a bag for my mom and tried to figure out how to do it on my own…after much wasted time and fabric I had to give up. Now I can offer to remake one with a center divider!
Baker Street Bag was my very first bag I made! That wonderful experience gave me hope to make more! As an old lady, I have to say you are adorable in this video!
Cool! I'm grateful for the explanation. What do you do for the third step? You put canvas there, but I'm not sure if that is supposed to be sewn to the rest of the fabric. Wouldn't it look bad? I just would like some more explanation on the last two steps. Thank you!
Thats handy thanks. I recently made a messenger bag with a number of dividers but was simply attaching to the front and rear seam but this method would have been better to give a nice separation and more options for placement.
Thamk you SO much for this very interesting Tutorial, about the inner divider with a zip as well if needed for a bag. I want to make a Tote Bag for a friend's birthday soon, and it would be great to be able to put in a divider section with a zip in it, but your Video finished a little too soon for me, as I was expecting it to show me how you actually then sewed the zipped divider into a bag... Do you have another Tutorial showing how you sew it in? Or perhaps are you able to send me an email with a link to how to sew the divider into a Tote Bag? Other Tutorials that I have looked at, don't mention adding the extra fabric for the "edge" width of the bag, as the Tote Bag I am planning to make will have boxed corners, which automatically gived it about a 4" depth. I have subscribed to your channel, as I am interested to see what else I can learn from you!! Up until now, I have mainly just made quilts. Then I made a little bag for my granddaughter, and I have made other Tote Bags with lots of pockets before, but nothing with a zip. I would really appreciate your help! Thanks, from Sue in South Australia 😃xxx
I love your tutorials. Thank you so much. I’d love to make the Lily bag that you showed at the beginning of the video. (I think you said “Lily”) I looked for a tutorial for that bag, but couldn’t find it. Is it one of yours?
@@bronwyncarr6714 I actually have figured that out, and even bought it at sew sweetness. I’m excited, I think it is the perfect thing. Thanks for answering
Thanks for the tutorial. I completed the lining with divider, but I can’t figure out how to turn it right side out! The center piece always ends up on the outside. Yikes! What am I missing?
Hello Sara, awesome video! You put so much work in them (prepping all the pieces in advance etc.) yet everything seems so effortless! Thank you very much. Something just occured to me: the divider doesn't have to be set right in the middle of the side panel, right? We could cut the side panel, say, 2 thirds in, for example, in order to have a larger space on one side and a smaller one on the other. Do you think it would work?
Sara, I love this video. My question is in thr original Baker Street bag the side panel you divided in half to add the divider has flex foam on it. Do we substitute the sf101 instead of the foam when adding the divider to the bag to eliminate to much bulk in the seams?

Thank you SO MUCH for this video. I absolutely LOVE having a center divider in my handbags. I will be adding this to every one that I make!
OMG! Thank you! I've been trying to figure out how to do this myself. Now I know.
This is exactly what I needed for a custom!
I was wanting to add a center pocket in my Baker Street Bag, thank you Sara for excellent instructions!

Thanks for another great video Sara and Danny!

Hi Sara.... I know this is an old post, but I was wondering if a #5 zipper would be ok to use. I do not have a #3 at this time. Thank you!

Where do I get this pattern? And may I ask what brand is you sewing machine?

OK. I figured it out. DUH! It isn’t RSO when it goes into the bag. Thanks again for video!
@@viviansilliman1475 I was just about to reply! Glad you're all sorted :)
Would this be possible to add in the Aragon bag also??
Not the same way because the Aragon bag has a separate bottom panel - I suggest you email Sara (sara@sewsweetness.com) for help with that :)

The piece you are putting the divider to should be the lining, it should have SF101 not foam, the foam goes on the exterior
is there anything in writing on the divider to a bag because you lose me after the zipper part. sorry
Patricia hi Sara i like your video and i will like to make some bags places can you send me the bags pattern
Would like to see how to add it to the bag, don't understand at all how it attaches inside.
Pat G I was about to ask the same question 😊
