KYW in Philly(then NBC, now CBS) did air daytime $ale of the Century at 3PM weekdays from 1/7/85-9/13/85, but didn't air Sale otherwise in the 80s, nor did any other station in Philly. The syndicated version in 1985 aired on WOR, then moved to WABC in NYC.
WMGM had the NHL on NBC, and with the Stanley Cup Finals in 2014 (NY Rangers vs. Los Angeles Kings), that introduced then 11 year old me to hockey... And boy, the tables have turned hard on 40 at the end of the year... But at least we still have WPVI and it's iconic theme music.
@julianpulido1 - Donna Beck is on Weather! Valerie Pritchett was a field reporter for WMGM in the early 1990's. She is now at abc27 WHTM in Harrisburg, PA last I checked.
@@edsenior I think 40 was the most broke NBC affiliate ever. And that's a good thing that there's no corporate influence affecting the newscasts compared to NBC O&O stations like WCAU 10 in nearby Philadelphia.
🎵TV40's the one for all!🎵
i remember this sing from when My family used to watch WMGM 40 from my grandmothers 2nd home in Cape May where I spend alot of good summers
Best Campaign Song Ever!
WJKW used this to, "You Sure Look Like a Winner".
0:22 that line will forever be embedded into the minds of people from Salem and Vineland all the way to AC and Wildwood...
@timberwolf84, yes that is Neil Rattigan, he is now at CBS 3 KYW as a producer/writer
The package remained in use in some form until 1998-99. During the 1995-98 period, channel 40 used a variation of WXIA-TV’s 1993 news music package.
I remember WMGM 40 I used to watch Sale of the Century, Classic Concentration, in the mornings in Cape Mays since KYW Never aired Sale of the Century

WFSB 3 in CT had a song with this same tune, only it was "The one and only TV 3"

Hey. I remember this!
@julianpulido1 - Donna Beck is on Weather!
Valerie Pritchett was a field reporter for WMGM in the early 1990's. She is now at abc27 WHTM in Harrisburg, PA last I checked.
@julianpulido1 I agree.
I use to hear this all the time when I lived in NJ.
Also I watched Broadway on Broadway 2008 on TV 40
I can remember when the Ampex ADO was state of the art. Now it looks so dated.
in 95 instead of doing the big switch NBC could of played hard ball and up powered WMGM-TV until CBS sold a station to NBC
Who's the guy at 0:13? Neil Rattengan?
1. 4 Always in forever
2. You're sure look like a winner
3. Florida's channel 2
Who's that at 1:46?
That is Dr. Donna Beck. She is a news writer at WPIX NY among many other accomplishments.
@@perkiomenfire6689 ok thank you for sharing that.
boy, do I miss nj.
Are they still doing these?
I watched family ties and Seinfeld and marriage ref on TV 40
@jjulianpulido1 - Valerie is at 0:17
who that guy sing i like this one :)
Frank Gari.
@tedtv3 That's what I thought. I remember him and Jeff Whitacre.
As nice as this is, it was way too dated for 1990. The jingle style was already 10 years old at least, since WBZ had used it in 1980.
It was probably all WMGM could afford back then.

Kinda mixing WNBC and WJAR with the logo, IMO.
