During the early 1980's, WBZ televsied about half of the Boston Celtics' schedule (some 40 regular-season games each year), including about 15 home games (one of the few NBA teams that alowed home game telecasts on over-the-air TV at the time), as well as all playoff games (home and away) not in the NBA's network TV package (then with CBS). It was the most extensive local TV schedule of any NBA team of the era
Odd side note, my neighbor who lived across the street from me at that time, had actually been the guy behind the camera for most of their newscasts (and I would more than likely say also was a doing some of the computer graphics at that time which was a fairly new evolving medium)
WBZ-TV was Westinghouse-owned from Day One and affiliated with NBC since radio days. When Westinghouse bought CBS in 1993, it changed all of its owned stations to CBS affiliations where they weren't before. Same thing happened in Philadelphia, Denver and other cities, and it took a couple of years to work details of the station sales with FCC. In Boston, channels 4 and 7 switched to CBS and NBC; the peacock flew the coop to channel 60 a couple of years back.
They had to because Group W stations which owned them at the time and was a division of Westinghouse merged with CBS. Same thing with WJZ in Baltimore which was with ABC and now with that network as well.

This was the golden age for local TV news.

_"This is NewsCenter 2 Nightcast, Central Florida's number one late news."_
That was a great image campaign for WBZ along with "Today's 4" as well.
that was Mike Douglas (0:18)--whose talk show ended right around 1981-pumped by the John Davidson Show
Back when Channel 4 was an NBC affiliate...I remember watching "SNL", "St. Elsewhere", etc. on Channel 4 in those days. Now they're CBS.
Odd side note, my neighbor who lived across the street from me at that time, had actually been the guy behind the camera for most of their newscasts (and I would more than likely say also was a doing some of the computer graphics at that time which was a fairly new evolving medium)
Nice Commercials. Those were the days. Too bad that today they do not have these commercial promos. They can't afford to waste valuable ad time.

KPIX in San Francisco has both been Westinghouse-owned and CBS-affiliated since day one.
There's Chris Marrou! Always in San Antonio except for a short time in 1980 in Boston. Thanks YTTM.tv!
I dug all of that old Celtic video footage.
This really was the golden age.
Btw, this is the station that preempts Wheel or Jeopardy for Patriots All Access (smh).

WFIE-TV Evansville, Indiana Might Either Used This As Well Back Since 1987 As "14 Country's The 1-4 All" But I Don't Know Yet...
Unconfirmed.
I Found A Bit Of Information For WFIE By Some Random User. But I Don't Know That It True Or Not.
Likely false. From looking at the stations list.
WMGM CHannel 40 NBC in Atlantic City, NJ area(through 12/31/2004) used a version of The One for All as its theme song about a decade later
Did "The One 4 All" Campaign Happen To My City Too?
Nope.
WBZ was an NBC afilliate at the time before switching to CBS in 1995.

@@troyandrew6154 Same there as well.
WBZ-TV (Now an CBS affiliate) Boston, Massachusetts.
You sure look like a winner.
Not to mention "We're 4!"
As good as this jingle is, WBZ really grew the beard when it was replaced with "Today's 4, a whole lot more."
@pjvalisnochannel what's the name of the theme song?
WMGM's "TV40's the One for All" promo was used c. 1990
at one time wbz had a very good news team jack williams out last them all, wbz news will never be the same now that jack williams is gone.
Short lived, this theme would find it's way down in Hartford with WFSB...
@zachhoran That's right. Loved the music.
Same jingle for WFSB-3 Hartford.
WFSB-TV use the same jingle
I wish WJKW (WJW) will be the jingle version of one for all it's called you're sure look like a winner
Can confirm. I'm going to upload the audio version of it.
Just uploaded it after forgetting to do so for two years.
