In High School I recorded all these cuts on cassette tapes from KPNX in Phoenix and used them for my own home made VHS news shows. Forty some years later they sound better than ever! Thanks for sharing.

KPNX knew how to use it, too! Neat story!

Frank Gari is still my best choice for jingles.
Some of the Hello News jingles were also used for WXIA-TV in Atlanta.

And I heard them also on videos of WSMV in Nashville, usually for The Scenes at 6 and 10 (evening and late editions).

@@bmasters1981 Though WSMV never used the Hello News close...they oddly decided to use "Let the Children Play" by the Miracles, instrumental version. They also went through a period where they used the the Stand Up / Turn to imager song even though they never used the opens and closes from that package.

It was great then, and it’s great today. Who knew something as simple as a news theme would boost morale at the station and get viewers chiming in about how they love your music. This industry needs to look back and see what worked instead of constantly trying to reinvent the wheel.

5:50 Everyone in Atlanta once knew this cue at the end of the newscasts on 11Alive -- all it needs is the WHOOSH at the very end of the 11Alive logo to close out the show.

WTAE in Pittsburgh had a holiday instrumental version of the Gari "Hello" that was jaunty and uptempo. They put video of the news team riding sleds and exchanging gifts behind it, and it ended with a decidely Christmassy bells-ringing ending. Ever seen that?

KWQC used this for 22 years, outside of a four-week period in 2007 for U-Phonix which was a disaster and terrible move for KWQC.
EDIT: This was originally composed for WISN Milwaukee and their "Hello Milwaukee" campaign that kicked it all off in 1978.
EDIT x2: This was actually dropped in 2012 from KWQC.

Number 31 News close at the end of the newscast at 6:00 p.m. 11Alive used it as their credits rolled and the last 15 seconds they use their helicopter as a background showing the city of Atlanta's skyline and then swoop down. I think 11 alive has the best logo for a television station ambest outros then they moved on to the great news package
