I can tell you why the Des was firing AP at the GK. It's combination of the fact that USN heavy cruisers have improved autobounce angles (USN CA AP starts ricocheting at 30 deg) and that USN T8+ heavy cruisers get access to the super heavy shell, allowing him to easily go through the upper belt of the GK for and excess amount of full penetrations and the Des is able to get away with this until the GK was at less than a 22.5 deg angle. Fortunately for the GK player, and unfortunately for the Des player, the player in the Des could not aim. If he could aim, this video should have been over at 11:40. (more reading on autobounce angles here: wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Gunnery_%26_Armor_Penetration#Armor-Piercing)

Bismarck is not nearly as good as the GK, I have the Bismarck with secondaries but you can only really use them if you face same tier or below, against T10s you'll have to stay back anyway unless you want to die and be useless to your team.
T8 is gonna suck hard because of the constant uptiering where there is one other T8 and the rest are T10s, maybe a sprinkle of 9's. Push through if you can, I gave up at T8 with the German BBs only because the current Meta does not suite them at all with noone pushing with you BB wise and then the inaccuracy and low caliber off their guns. T7 Gneisenau is by far my most played ship/ Tier, hell even T5 I have fun with certain ships. Love brawling, but it just doesn't happen at T10 sadly until the last 8 minutes or so, lots of gimmicks and smoke and mountain hiding with HE slinging, just so damn boring. Not trying to discourage you btw, just be prepared for the road ahead!
@@TheRCScotsman Sadly I didn't give many tips haha. I do still play my Bismark and Tirpitz here and there though. With these 2 ships islands are you friend and coupled with the relatively good speed of them you can put yourself into favorable positions at times. When you have to run they are good kiters as well if you are secondary spec'd and have the rudder shift upgrade on. With that speed you can also chase down and punish people who get isolated from their fleets, even DD's sometimes if they end up sitting in their smoke, even better if you aren't detected by their teammates. What else, umm, I've eaten a good amount of citadels at range from the T9 and T10 guns so you wont be invulnerable to citadels at medium-long to long range. Close up keep angled as much as possible, you'll still eat alot of normal penetration damage, but at least that is repairable if your able to win the fight or safely disengage. Some basic stuff, but figured I'd try to help, instead of scare ya away haha. I'm on the NA server if you wanna play sometime as well.
In one of my very first battles in Bismarck, I got a kraken with four of them coming from Close Quarters Expert. Nowhere near that kind of damage of course, but still hilarious. I love the German secondary builds, but have to admit, it seems much more consistent with the Massachusetts. If you love secondaries on your ship, that would be the primary choice imho
Dunno if it's just me but on my fully specced secondary bismark I can barely do 10 thousand damage with 150-200 secondary hits and I'm doing more by fires dunno if it's just the fact that it's lower tier or I don't have ifhe skill anyone got any advice?
It's because the smaller calibre of the secondaries has much lower penetration value, making it unable to deal direct damage even to the hulls of DDs, despite that it still able to knock out modules on those underaged boats.
The Kurfürst gets even bigger caliber Secondary than the Bismark, which results in higher penetration on its HE and so it makes more damage, so dont worry, take your bismark captain and use him on the Kurfürst later and watch the fireworks.
Like Dzharek said, GK has larger calibre secondaries than Bismarck, and actually the penetration value for 105mm (I think) shell is 1/6 of calibre, while others are 1/4 calibre

Live in the USA so days I have off of work, I can wake up and watch a Jingles episode, must've worked in the salt mines for years without remembering it in order to deserve this
And now, because of Jingles, next 1000 games, we'll all see 100% GKF AA build
This is seriously the single most amazing World of Warships game I have EVER seen played!
holy jesus, that was amazing :D his last words "lol i'm out" XDDD
Respecced my captain on the GK and had a go with an all out secondaries build and had a blast! Didnt get a match as good as above but got 3 kills and 205k dmg. :)
THIS VIDEO MADE ME UPDATE AND PLAY AGAIN.
A great day. A New jingles video! YAY!!!
Luck and skills combined = an epic battle...thnx for sharing!
As some that has been playing since the beta test I have never seen something that impressive
Crazy games like that is what makes me keep going back to WoWS...all of the amazing "did that just happen" moments you get in that game, both amazing, and super face-palm.
i was about to start playing kancolle to try and clear the event and then u uploaded my overlord.. guess i shall watch this first XD
As someone that uses cruisers a lot I felt those 9:14 Cleveland citadels
Wows legends Otto Cilliax players been doing this with Bismarck for years, keep up jingles!
Jingles I think my favorite thing about you is that you are humble. You make fun of everyone to include yourself which I find hilarious.
I've done this once with the Repub but I don't use manual secondarys so my guns were popping off on both sides and catching peeps by surprise.
Earl the Viking really like this long boat
That was a good one. Though it certainly helps the enemy kept bending over for a paddling. D.
Actually Jingles, that Jean Pierre you mentioned wasn't a Jean Pierre, it was an Alsace..... ..jingles?
To quote stupid yet hilarious game voicelines, "You are ded. Not big souprize."
@@somebody700 Whoops, seems like i'm the idiot, meant it to be a joke soooooooooooooo
i have a problem i cant find the game client i got the game on steam and kinda dont wanna start from anew
The tier 9 German BB actually us really fun, now that it's buffed. The secondary batteries are also just as insane.
Due to the improved AP pen angles of the des Moines, he could actually deal a ton of damage with AP, though penetrating the belt isn't that easy
The funny thing is in the movie Battleship, Missouri only uses main batteries
This replay was epic! Love the secondary action but also MONSTROUS damage from the main batteries! After all that's why people keep grinding away with battleships, for the rare game like this when you make all the right decisions and the enemy make all the wrong decisions it all becomes worth it.
2 bloody ship game videos in 2 days, praise our gnome overlord!
That cleveland on the enemy team reminds me of all the Derpitz players on WoWSL
13:15 WAIT is that a Jingles adaption of the "that's a paddlin" guy from the Simpsons???
Aaaaand after the Leander we're back to top-tier ownage
Got my second Kraken ever with my Massachusetts. 3 of the 5 were Close quarters
I just unlocked the Kurfurst. I love it. I have always been a fan of german bb secondary. with IFHE I have gotten cits against dd and cruisers with my secondary guns its a trip this was my first ever tier X ship I unlocked. Almost got the mino as well
well that was one of the best replays you ever featured...
I saw the title and the start of the video and thought is he gonna get all his kill with secondaries, but I never expected that to be true
"That's a lotta damage!"
Ha! When you asked how much damage his secondaries did I guessed 130k. With the fires I'm only 6k off. That's closer than those 11km secondary kills.
German BB guns are very precise. Got 3 citadells on a DeMoin in my Bismarck yesterday. At 17km range. This guy really pissed the RNG God off.
I open RUclips and I see the beautiful Kurfürst in the thumbnail and I see that jingles made the video. I don’t hesitate.
I don’t blame you jingles when it comes to the f. DER grosse. I can’t stand that ship, it sucks in general so I quit with it but I’m happy I got my Bismarck. awesome video btw!
Well, i got an doublestrike kill with secondaries. But thats unbelievable. Well played!
@@somebody700 I wont say unmachtched, every Ship has pros and cons. With the right angle, use of torpedos, and the secondaries combined with 380mm guns Tirpitz is an horrible enemy.
I sank a Freddie that tried to ram with my Tirptorps. It's a fun boat to play and can be mean under the right conditions
@@r3dgr4v3 True.
I remember one game where I had to afk at the start of a battle so I auto pilot my ship to the middle of a cap. When I came back I had gotten 40k damage and a capture and placed 5th on the team
I have the Frederick the great now, only tier nine battleship. It’s OK but definitely not very good. Glad to know I’m not the only one that thought that and it is going to get better.
Thanks for doing this video.
Awesome play.... that Montana 🤣
This is why I'm looking forward to unlocking the Bismarck!
Bismarck is not nearly as good as the GK, I have the Bismarck with secondaries but you can only really use them if you face same tier or below, against T10s you'll have to stay back anyway unless you want to die and be useless to your team.
@@marcusengdahl6062 Thanks for the advice. It's OK, I have to go through the Bismarck to reach GK, anyway!
@@hailitalia86 Thanks for the tips, i shall remember them!
I had thought "Hmmm, a kraken that Jingles has never seen before. Hmmm, it's a Großer Kurfürst, that appears to be secondary specced. Hmmm....."
I wish I had that kind of matchmaking with my secondary build Kurfürst
the 5 kills were not even that impressive to me since it was a GK. the last 2 minutes were just hilarious! thanks for sharing!
I love doing that with tirpitz, + bonus with 6km torps :P
@@chialingchew1857 it's still the same caliber guns as the currywurst 127 and 150 mm aren't they?
The Kurfürst gets even bigger caliber Secondary than the Bismark, which results in higher penetration on its HE and so it makes more damage, so dont worry, take your bismark captain and use him on the Kurfürst later and watch the fireworks.
@@rowanspencer1861 No the bismarck has 102/150 mm secondaries and the Kurfürst has 128/150 mm secondaries.
Like Dzharek said, GK has larger calibre secondaries than Bismarck, and actually the penetration value for 105mm (I think) shell is 1/6 of calibre, while others are 1/4 calibre
Thanks Jingles I really enjoyed that I love my KKF, It was the best kept secret in WoW's.... I say waaas.
Man, that is a game... Thanks for sharing
Ahoy, Mate. As a GK owner ---
1. The "spoiler" started with your title.
2. I passed over tier iX with my Free XP.
Note: But, then, I have over 7 Million ship XP in the bank so a few dollars out of my retirement slush fund was a very convenient way to get to tier 10 ---- (as well as my cherished Missouri).
Good hunting.
ScorpidBlackDragon
I'm actually surprised by the penetration the Alsace guns have, even angled it was taking 8k chunks off the GK.
I prefer this much more interesting game than flambass replays. We can watch flambass on his channel let's see something different here.
But with a Flambass video, you're not getting that Jingles Gold standard Commentary. Jingles has a way of complimenting any video, like a fine wine with an expensive meal, you don't want MD 2020 with a Filet mignon.
drock 12 if you watch three wows youtubers and see the same thing on two of them multiple times then you will get bored.
@@thepavl i don't get bored of flambass' games no matter how many times i watch them.
boreas real good for you!
Also flambass games are worth featuring. The only guy I have ever seen division up with an aircraft Carrier, announce their intentions and have it cap the game.
i gotten so close to that but not yet i keep getting four secondary awards but no Kraken yet with mine
As a WoWs player who primarily plays Cruisers and Destroyers, I have the Grober Kurfurst and it is fun to play. But I enjoyed playing the Friedrich der Grobe, it was a much better grinding the FdG than it was grinding through the Bismarck. Also WG recently buffed the FdG so there is that.
Doesn't look like manual fire control... He doesn't select for secondaries (ctrl+click)
Thats because the wows replay system doesnt show the interface of the player. The only giveaway for manual fire control was that only one side at a time was firing or else the kagero and the north carolina would have been shot at simultaniously in the beginning.
