I got a 2001 raptor 660r with a 686 big bore kit and got Xmas stage 2Z weisco 12:1 pistons and hot Rudz connecting rods what size jets would I use and what settings if I’m in between 1500-3000 ft above sea level
man I wish I would have seen you're videos month's ago. I got a 660 that's been a major pain in my @ss. I had to tear it apart 3 times in 3 month's. finally got it running again, but if i screw it up again I know who to send it to
Great vids! I have a raptor 686 I’ve been having some issues with starting with the high compression. I bought as it was just rebuilt and they gave up and fried the starter. I too fried the Amazon high torque starter. I believe it’s running the stock cam/head. I have replaced the wire from the starter to the solenoid the solenoid to the battery with substantially larger cable and put an extra ground from the starter to the negative ground to the battery. My next move is to check valve clearances and the decompression pin. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I would definitely check the compression, see what you have, go from there. It should not be anything crazy high. Just lookup std cranking compression value and see what you have
@@geezermoto7820 thanks I’ll have to wait on the new starter. BTW I had it running just a hair rich 185 mains and 27.5 pilots. Everything sounded good not sure if that gives you any ideas, but thanks your vids have already helped for sure on the jetting. I was hard on the starter trying to get her going first and once she warmed up it started easy then all the sudden starter fried trying to start cold. Thanks again!
@@geezermoto7820 hey man are they anyway you can tune my carbs for my 660r I ordered them form zoom zoom parts off Amazon norhing. I had someone clean the carbs before and it was running but not good it was losing power when I hit the gas to get on it and then it just stopped starting again
@@donjohn7671 have you measured compression? Do you have idle set low or backed out for no idle? Then you can just give a small bit of throttle. if idle is set too high, it will not get enough fuel to start.

What do you have your air fuel screws at I have mine 2 and 3 turns got those boots sealed up and I still have problems
What size jets are you putting in the carbs main slow and choke jet
You will need to google it, do some research for your area and altitude
Also what jets did you use
Geezer, how can I get in contact with you. I have a carb I would like you to rebuild. Thanks

What are best performance jets and do you have to buy a bigger carb or just add bigger jets?
Buy original Mikuni jets or whatever brand carb you have
And no, no bigger carb needed just jets
@@geezermoto7820 oh thx so what size maim jets would I need
@@Issablue5.0 you would start out with about 2 sizes larger than stock, ride it, and adjust jet sizes from there
So I looked at my main jets and they don’t have size numbers is their a link for some aftermarket jets

Just bought a 660. When I try to shut it off it act like it's trying to keep starting. Is that the solenoid
yes
