@@usuck1883 But keep in mind that Lars and/or James said in the mid 80s that if they were going to make a video, they were going to do it on their terms. You gotta remember that the reason they said no to videos was because all the music videos (which were still a new thing in the 80s) were either gimmicky (think Van Halen, Motley Crue or Twisted Sister) or cringe (like all the bands that mimed to the recorded track). The video for "One" set the tone and the template for what a metal video was supposed to be (not whatever crap Anthrax was coming up with), and the video for "Seasons in The Abyss" (one of the greatest music videos ever, of any genre) shared a lot of elements with that type of video (same for Judas Priest's "Painkiller", John Bush era Anthrax's "Only", Pantera's "Cemetery Gates", Alice in Chains' "Rooster" and Sepultura's "(War for) Territory"). Kerry King was also in a couple of Beastie Boys videos ("You've got to Fight for your Right (To Party)" and "No Sleep til Brooklyn") that were from 1986 too, so I think it's clear that they had the same attitude as Metallica in that were only anti-video insofar that they were anti-80s-pop-metal-videos that were coming out at that time. There's a lot to criticize Metallica for, but for everything they did in the 90s, there is a video of them in 1985 or 1986 saying that they were going to do that.
