  • The Glock 34 is a great handgun for competition and self defense. The Glock 34 has a longer slide and barrel than the Glock 17 but is equal in frame size. The Glock 34 comes from the factory with extended controls and a adjustable rear sight.

    I've put probably 10k rounds thru my gen 3 glock 34. Still on original spring and plastic plunger. She's no spring chicken but she will always be beautiful in my eye. My first pistol.

    Good video I would just like to add that the trigger pull is lighter on a 34 over a 17,19,and 26. It comes from the factory with the minus connector which is 4.5lb where as the others come with the 5.5lb standard connector. If you were to feel the trigger pulls of the 17 vs the 34 you would notice the difference at the wall

    A couple glaring errors in this video. #1. The Glock 34 doesn’t have the regular Glock trigger. It had the “minus” connector which gives it a 1 lb lighter trigger pull and a different feel. The standard Glock trigger hits a wall then releases the sear. The G34 trigger doesn’t really hit a wall but smoothly pulls all the way through and releases the sear at the end of the pull. It feels more like a light DA pull. #2. The purpose of the improved Gen4 trigger spring isn’t for longevity of the spring itself but to actually decrease felt recoil while also reducing wear on the locking block and frame. Nobody would really care about improving the life of a cheap $7 recoil spring.

      I shoot a gen 3 #34, on a regular basis. I've had it over 20 years. As much as I love it the trigger is garbage. It absolutely hits a wall. It's like backing ur truck into a wall.

    So if you were to put a Gen 3 Recoil Spring and slide on the Gen 4 frame it would work correct? In my head that should be all you have to change to make the Gen 3 slide work on the Gen 4 frame. Likewise unless I'm wrong, I could take an aftermarket Gen 4 Glock 17 slide, barrel and recoil spring and throw that on my Gen 4 Glock 34 frame. Am I right with this train of thought??

    The Gen 3 comes with a minus connector, different from every other Gen 3 Glock. Stock Glock triggers are 7#. Vickers parts aren't IDPA/USPSA legal. Stippling isn't SSP legal; just use stick on grips. I replaced the extended controls on my Gen 3 34 with standard controls, WOTG sights, 13 lb recoil spring, and grip plug.

    You dont recommend a trigger undercut? ..it should be on every Glock, almost everyone gets a Glock Nuckle its way more comfortable when you can hold the gun a bit higher

    • @TropUSA
      @TropUSA  8 лет назад +2

      Great point! I do in fact like an undercut right where the trigger guard meets the grip. I failed to mention that. Gives a much higher purchase on the gun.

    Love me Gen 4 G34 but prefer the Gen 3 finish. Also wish I would've waited for the MOS model. I upgraded my sights to Vickers Elite Battle sights with blacked out rear and green FO front.

    I thought the 34 would've had the3.5 trigger like the 17L Does it say 5. 5 on the box?

    • @dragonskiss86
      @dragonskiss86 8 лет назад

      +Glock1130 You are correct. The earlier production 34s came with the 3.5lb trigger from the factory. However, all the recent models come with a 4.5lb trigger.

      If you use the gen 3 guide rod and barrel the gen 3 will fit tthe gen 4 you will have a gap on the dust cover though.
