I don’t think the Oligarchy in this country will sell him their shares. Once the Supreme Court said companies were free to dump unlimited campaign contributions the poor/middle class was effectively sidelined from politics. Many of the top corporations donated to both sides in every major election (Presidency/Senate/Congress/Governor). The $700 B budget pee year for the military/weapons manufacturers should have made this point clear.

Everything stands 100% in this video and I must stresa that contwnt moderation is under emphasized, except for the edit button. There is 0 argument that such a button is bad, unfeasible od difficult to implement for any reason. Just like someone can use it to change their statement, but be screen-captured, they can delete the entire post and still be screen-captured. This is an axiom and only fools question axioms. If you want to prevent ppl from changing their tweetw, remove the delete button and then we can talk about how true you want one's tweets to be to what they originally wanted or did not want to say.
The issue I faced when running a similar business: if you allow people to edit, you allow people to take other's reactions out of context. Eg I post something good, you like it, then I change it to something horrible and you've now liked something horrible.
You couldn’t think of a better example for potential technical issues? He proposed an edit button, no one said anything about time travel to go back and prevent the tweet from being captured… how does this make it past an editor?
That's a good way to reduce useless hate speech and spam. When you have your real identity behind your post, you better think twice and stand behind it. That's the goal, to have peoples ideas public and discussed, not banned. The problem is, discussions get drowned in a sea of shtposts, spam and hate speech. It is a good insigth into the human mind, how vile we still can be towards one another.
I'm mores concerned about someone tweeting lies. Not afraid of a differing opinion so long as there is a basis but to allow outright lies is a whole different ballgame. I don't think people should be allowed to tweet and spread baseless conspiracy theories.
Never believe anything you read on a public toilet wall. Twitter is the same. One way is to read through the comments, see what others think about the post.
Conspiracy theories? You mean how Hunter Biden was taking money in Ukraine, and there is a laptop full of emails, photos, texts, and records of bribery? A laptop story that was suppressed right before the election by Twitter and democrat party influence on all the major news outlets? What about the weird island where the rich and politicians were having sex with under aged girls? Did Jeff Epstein kill himself, or does two video cameras malfunctioning at the same time and both guards sleeping while he died qualify as a conspiracy theory?
Twitter is a lie. It is created for liars. Do you really believe truth can be expressed in two lines or a paragraph.Truth requires effort and people are not willing to invest effort in something they see nothing in it for them, until truth slowly catches up with their reality. So why allow a bunch of data zombies dictate the terms what is to be twitted or not? Let everything hit the fan and everything in twitter will die out b/c it is nothing but a lie: an error. It's already lost 6% in two days, and he overpaid for a company that was on the brink of failure because the advertisers aren't buying ad space. He's still $22 BILLION dollars short of the cash to buy Twitter,so he has to sell Tesla stock to complete the deal. That's why Tesla stock fell 12% yesterday. He may be smart on making cars, but he hasn't figured out the wolves of Wall Street.
@Argenta You must not work on Wall Street. If you pay $44 BILLION for something that's only worth $42 Billion, you've lost money. Facebook has far more users than Twitter, and they're not boycotting the service (yet). Twitter is losing ad placements, and users . It's the new Myspace.
There's a big issue which he must be aware of which is that he has no contract with most of the platform users. They can walk and leave at anytime. So, if a competitor has a more compelling proposition, it's game over.

Freedom of speech should be all speech, even hate speech. If you don’t like what people post then you can either respond to them or just move on. People have been hating each other for millennia. They’re not gonna stop because you “moderate” them.
In order for free speech to be useful, it must have its limits. Things that directly lead to harm must not be allowed, otherwise we will live in an anarchy.

It’s cute that they are telling adding and Edit Button will be complex to the guy that created Tesla and Space X
I'm a coder and including an edit button won't be too hard to code. They can just code it so it fetches the tweet id, goes to the database to look up the tweet with its id and change the content.
yo did this guy really just try to zoom in on a paper? 1:45

Did no one noticed that some dude at 1:46 tries to zoom into a graph printed into a sheet of paper?
I think musk will make Twitter a much better place. If it goes through I will definitely recreate my account.
Or it could turn into a cesspit (not that it isn't already)
I never had a Twitter but I think I will start one now.
Alot of Republicans saying Democrats are crying about Musk buying Twitter. Democrats dont care if Musk uses Twitter for a right wing, racist, hate filled social network. Just dont act like he is doing something good with it for America or humanity in general.

That would be a great thing to do: end youtube. To do so, he have to kick Google out of business which at least for now can be hard to do even for Elon. I know he is working to disrupt Google's dangerous AI research. Who knows, maybe that will be his next move. If so. I wish him best luck. Elon is one of a kind.

lol yall are way over thinking the edit button. A simple tab below the tweet with likes and retweets should give you the option to see what the tweet said before. ez
Haven't watched the video yet, but one can assume there is going to be bias against Musk due solely to the fact that the publication deliberately chose about as distasteful and unflattering a photo of Musk as possible while still maintaining a bare minimum level of neutral journalism (aka plausible deniability)
Guess I will find out in 5 minutes when the video is finished if I was correct, or if this weed is way too strong

Eg I post something good, you like it, then I change it to something horrible and you've now liked something horrible.

freedom of speech must be restored thank you Elon
The left is no longer liberal, they are the new oppressors and discriminators
Step 1: Delete twitter
He also said he wants real identity. This means, inflammatory tweets will be connected to real people and expose them to libel & slander law suits.
Unfortunately, it's not only bad people that benefits from anonymity.
It also means the end of government opposition on the platform. Swings and roundabouts. Should be interesting to see what he comes up with.
@@after_midnight9592 If real identity is forced then criticism of the State will become very dangerous. The opposite of free political speech.
One way is to read through the comments, see what others think about the post.
if you parrot the usual MSM narrative then guess what, more often than not (by quite some margin) you are parroting lies
"It is easier to perceive error than to find truth, for the former lies on the surface and is easily seen, while the latter lies in the depth, where few are willing to search for it."

I don't use twitter. Thank god its not Instagram
The Twitter board played him.Nobody else wanted it. He made an offer they felt was too low,so they pretended to adopt a poison pill. When he upped the offer to $45 BILLION,they took the money and signed a contract because they knew that the next day the profit reports were coming out and they had LOST money.
