  • The Continental Contact Plus and the Contact Plus Travel tires are similar in many ways. They offer excellent puncture protection and reflective sidewalls. In this video, I'm taking a quick look at them side-by-side in case you're trying to decide between them.

Never ceases to amaze me how few reviews there are for the Continental Travel Contact which has the slick centre tread and knobbly side blocks for true off-road adventures. The best genuine all purpose gravel tyre to my mind for both wet & dry, paved, gravel and shallow mud. Nothing else looks like it.

I just got the Contact Spike 120 with studs. I could only find one so I'll put it on my front wheel for now. And hopefully I'll find another one for the rear soon...

Are these tires hard to put on, compared to schwalbe marathon plus tour tires ( which I find very easy ).?

Very nice! It's hard to find actual experiences on the plus travel.
I've been curious about the plus travel for a while, but I always imagined it to be somewhat wobbly when cornering slightly since you'd be riding on the "empty parts" between the middle line and the outer tread, and the pointy parts of the middle tread.
Is there something to it, or is that just my brain overthinking?
Also how do they ride on gravel-y terrain, where they don't sink in enough for the side tread to start touching the ground? Does it grip equally well as the non-travel version, or is there a difference?

I am also curious about the answer. I'm also thinking about to test the Continental Contact Plus Travel tire
