Often players are much faster without the puck than they are with the puck. We find that this situation often occurs, when players do not have the proper coordination / stickhandling technique to accompany either their straight line stride, crossovers, or mohawks. Thus, our Prestige 1 section for Speed with the Puck addresses this, and will teach you several different techniques for handling the puck at full speed, for each of straight line stride, crossovers, and mohawks. Once you have a good grasp of each of these, and can execute them at full speed, our Prestige 2 Drills section will help you combine two or three of these elements into coordinated sequences. This allows you to seamlessly switch from 1 skating technique to another, without losing speed because of the puck not staying with you. Once you have mastered switching between different skating with the puck techniques at full speed, it is time to blend them together with different P1 elements from different areas, into full game situation blends in our P3 section

just saying a shorter stick makes skating easier and faster with the puck.

perhaps it is your skating that is awkward?

maybe it's because he's exaggerating the motions so plugs like yourself can see how it's done?
