I knew just from the first second, that you was going to be super good in teaching this part. 🙏 I have seen so many videos try so many different steps, but this is what i was exactly searching for. NEW SUB 100%
Hi mate... you have wrong settings in Davinci Resolve, ensure your Colour Management Settings are set to YRGB Colour Science (you have this good) and LUT Interpolation is set to Tetradedral- That is advice from the owner of Phantom luts, you will find that information in text documents in Phantom luts folder. Have a great day mate. Otherwise great video. Keep going. Regards
Fantastic stuff right here. So simple and easy to follow. I've got the phantom LUTs but they do need a bit of a tweak in my opinion. I perhaps don't boost the color as much as you do but then you're going for a far different look than what I am. Still the results are excellent. Thanks for this video bro!
Excellent video and new subscriber. I started watching because of Phantom Luts but, I really enjoyed watching the Davinci editing as a Premiere user. Would be cool to see a how to get started with Devinci video since you are a really great at instructions. Happy 2023.
great video , i really learned coloring on Davinci Resolve very easly, and i really need great video for editing as well on Davinci Resolve, for years using Adobe PP and its so bad,
Hey joe… stupid question, what F/Stop was the coffee shop shot at ? I ask because I’m trying to find a good middle ground f/stop .. my toxic trait is since my lens can so 1.8 I tend to stay there lol
I'm so confused about color management when using the Phantom LUTs. Everyone seems to do this differently? Can someone explain fully what this means. The creator of the Phantom LUTs says "For Davinci Resolve, ensure your Colour Management Settings are set to YRGB Colour Science and LUT Interpolation is set to Tetradedral with colourspace set to "Rec709 2.4" for Windows and "Rec709 A" for Mac Users". So from what I can see in this clip, that is different to the creators settings. How does this work? Ideally you want to do all corrections in a wider color space than r709. The LUT itself will transform the colorspace S-Gamut3.Cine/S-Log3 to r709 if I'm correct. Meaning that this should be the last node. So what is the best way to color manage so that the previous nodes are not r709. What would the settings in color management be? Please help :)
*Good video mate.* Two Questions: 1. Any tips for just adjusting the standard picture profile or s-cinetone to make it slightly darker/more contrasty? 2. What Aputure would you use for talking head videos at my desk (with a green screen directly behind me). I just got my first camera (Sony A7IV + 24mm f/1.4 GM). I want to make video content in the future and just have as a webcam for work etc. P.s. Do you know any sites I could find a clean backdrop for my green screen? I'm looking for something realistic like a blurred office room or a rustic timber wall etc. Cheers.
HI Brother, under exposing gives a noisy footage and when i over expose s log3 to 1.7 to2 stops=, results with less noisy footage ? Can you explain to me how you get rid of noise while underexposing...?
Hello, great, Sorry, I'm a beginner, I don't speak English, I will use a translator, I would like to know in DaVinci resolve how we would use these Luts, if there would be a need to use a CST to convert to Rec 709 or if those Luts are used directly on slog 3 in the case from Sony?, thank you!!! 👍👍👍
How do you get your Scopes window to expand / stretch that wide? Mine is like yours except 1/3rds of the whole thing so it's not showing me as much information that wide out.
Hey ! On the master settings what do you put the timeline resolution at ? I saw yours said custom , but mine keeps saying 1920x1080 , but when I click on my video in timeline it tells me the video is 3840x2160 , so is that what I should set my timeline resolution to ? Please help me !!! Thank you 🙏
Hey it depends on your goal. If I'm posting to social media I stick with 1920 by 1080, and 1080 by 1920 for verticle. But for youtube I do 3840 by 1920 so I can get a wider ratio to fill device screens more.
@@joecline__ I guess this is what you are sending it out as then , In the timeline does it matter what it’s sent as , as long as you export what you want it at , I guess it’s probably best to edit it with whatever you are going to be exporting ! I’ll be posting most my videos on RUclips
Is there a specific reason why you went with Davinci YRGB color managed rather than just Davinci YRGB? I also noticed you didn't change interpolation to tetradedral and stayed with trilinear. I only ask because I'm following his directions listed in the readme file. You obvioulsy have been doing this longer than me and it really looks like you know what you're doing so I'm just looking for some education.
This was immensely helpful!! Great video - thank you so much : )

Its because Joe Cline is doing it wrong, lol
Joe really didnt answer. Interesting.
Thats not how to build a fans
will this process work on the new fx30 as well?
Yes it will!
whats the shortcut for before and after applying each adjustment not the whole node?
Alt D on a mac
For the film luts don't forget to add a CST and color manage for Cineon film log
Even if I use Phantom Luts ?
@@nazarelbadia3706 No. Phantom LUTS have a color transform already built in.
Great vid🔥

Phantom LUTS have a CST built in.
Can u use these LUTS with any Sony camera? Like the Sony zv e10
Please help
You can use these LUTs for every Sony Camera wich have the S-Log2 or S-Log3 (PP8) Picture Profile. The ZV E10 should have it!
Great Job!
No need to transform in rec709 before ?
Correct
How do you get your Scopes window to expand / stretch that wide? Mine is like yours except 1/3rds of the whole thing so it's not showing me as much information that wide out.
Well, I was on a pretty large screen, which just made a bigger. When I’m on my laptop is a lot smaller.

Ok so i bought the phantom luts, BUT how come i dont see the a7iv phantom luts? i see fx6,a7siii etc but no drop down for a7iv?
If you have an A7IV - use the A7Siii LUTs.
Subbed. Thanks!
Are these luts already Rec709? I dont have to use the color space transform?
Yes they are.
Do these luts work for sony a7iv on adobe or capcut?
Yes!

WoW!!!!
What a guy
Like you didn’t even do too much, I didn’t see no colour space transform what ever and we go this , wow
you miss the more important and basic part dude, color space management.
You dont use cst using phantom luts it already has a 709 conversion built in
What happen to being 1.7 to 2 stops over exposed on Sony 🫡
Not really needed anymore with modern sensors.
Hello. Great video. Very informative You guided help me. New sub from me Enjoy your day
