Thank you for this wonderful pattern. I am making this for my daughter in law. She was a black hawk mechanic in the military. She is very patriotic. This will mean the world to her.
Hi Tracy, one of the things I love about your tutorials is you show us how you work out your patterns, i.e., you talk us through your process and how you came to a decision on what to do. You tutorials go beyond the typical do this, do that. Thank you!!!
You inspire me to make your flag for each one of my three sons. I am an immigrant so I treasure the American Flag. Thank you so much. I love your videos so much
Oh my word Tracy! 😊 Out of all the quilts and etc items I have seen you make, giving me great ideas with your tutorials, this flag quilt has captured my heart. What a wonderful job. Absolutely awesome. I will give it my best as soon as I can finish the projects I'm working on at this time. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! God bless you precious lady.❤🙏🙏
I love your tutorials and tips - always chock full of really great info and ideas!!! The biggest forehead-slapping aha moment for me was when you turned your machine sideways to accommodate for the bulk of the quilt while doing FMQ - It honestly never occurred to me to do that, but of course, it makes total sense! 😄💗💗💗
You my friend are beautiful inside & out! You’re kindness, humility & inspiration is honestly refreshing. Your heart is in the right place. Thracy It shows in your video’s! Thank you for being you. I love this!
I have always only sewed my own creations, so i plan and sew as i go…i see the quilt in my mind finished before i start…but my as i go is solving issues that i didn’t plan on….otherwise its planned out.
Before I finish your video...and I will... I love the flag quilt, but where were you weeks ago when I needed to figure out an easier pattern than what I have. The one I have is actually easy, but I wanted to make it bigger and now my hurts! I am going to make your flag quilt too, because I love them so much! You are so much fun to watch, we should be thanking you!!!
Tracy I want you to know I haven’t even finished watching and I love this! Thank you so much. I have always wanted to make one of these! I think you just gave me some quilt mojo! I have been I’ll since December and I have barely even looked at my sewing machine. I think just once in March! Love it!
I have wanted to make an American Flag quilt for quite some time. I also need to sort my scraps. 🤔 This is a fantastic solution for both! Beautiful 😍 thanks for sharing this.
Love your tutorials and love that you have a Juki.. I’ve hit the new TL 2020 Platinum Edition and I LOVE MY JUKI! It is the best machine for piecing and free motion! Keep on teaching…I’m 80 Yrs and have a ton of fabric♥️
Great tutorial awesome American Flag quilt, great scrap buster. I really like your technique for the Star process and you explained everything so well. FMQ is something that I’m still learning. Thank you for sharing Tracy
Hey Tracy! Packing up my fabrics for the move, I have A LOT of red, white and blue patriotic fabric that I can use to make this quilt at some point. Was originally going to make a patriotic scrap quilt, but I absolutely LOVE this flag quilt pattern so much better. Just purchased a couple of yards of blue star batik fabric that I'm going to use for making the stars. Will make for a nice picnic quilt during Memorial Day or Forth of July holidays, or just to display in my home for holiday decoration. Will be a nice project during rainy months to have ready for the summer months. ❤
Super video, love the quilt. I enjoy piecing my quilts as I go, so much more freedom than patterns, which I usually modify. I have 4 more quilts of valor to make for family, always looking for something new.
Beautiful quilt!❤ Thank you for sharing your pattern and techniques for how to get it accomplished. I’m excited about saving all my red, white and blue scraps. 🎉🇺🇸🎉🇺🇸
I want to see you get together with Jenny Doan! You're hilarious. Love your personality! And Jenny Doan is great too! I did most of my learning to sew quilts by watching her and now, I watch you too! Thanks so much for this channel!!😜
Great design and method for using scraps. A little overwhelming size-wise for me, but I can definitely down size it to make it more managable. Also, I'd make the stars smaller. I want more of the beautiful blue patchwork to show through. Overall, it's a great inspirational design to start from.
I just love your version of the American flag. Thanks for sharing how you pieced your quilt together and for the pattern. You did yourself very proud with this quilt!
A Brother scan n cut machine would be great for cutting the stars. Before you applied the stars, your blue fabrics looked like tall buildings. Very pretty. Then, the white stars covered the buildings which was very pretty too.
This here quilt is "sleep worthy" more than it is "show worthy" LOLOLOLOL🤣 This would make a great Canadian flag...big applique of the leaf in the center.....pretty❣️
Thanks to you for all the tips. I've quilted for sometime now. However, I've learned several things from you. Plus the joy of watching you create your own projects.
Thank you for such kind feedback Rhonda❣ The JUKI is a no brainer...I wish I would have had it a long time ago..I had no idea what a difference it would make...but it does🤩
Yes I figure it as I go alot of the time but I need to start keeping track of my steps. I tried to figure out how I made something 3 years ago and it definitely didn’t turn out the same. Oh well live and learn lol love this quilt Tracy!! Im getting ready to make your 70’s quilt which I dubbed “The Brady Quilt” all those flowers reminded me of Marcia’s dresses. You have fun patterns! Thank You!
You have the most awesome way of breaking large projects down into simple instructions Miss Tracy. Love love love this one. I made a flag wall hanging at the retreat but it was only 51” x 28”. Yours is amazing!!! Have a terrific weekend. 🤗🤗
Thank you so much Debbie for the kind encouragement❣️Also it was very nice meeting you on the phone from your retreat ❤️ Maybe one day I can make it to one of these retreats✅
