Interesting fact, Nintendo eshop should've had music, but for some reason it haven't been implemented into actual release version of switch, even though music file was actually found
It’s wild how some simple music and an animated wallpaper elevates the Switch UI from an absolute drag and bore to something with emotion and life. This. This is what the Switch 2 needs.
Definitely agreed! I miss so much about the Wii U era of Nintendo. It was a bit (very) clunky and a bit of a laughing stock with people but it had personality and charm to share and the games were so polished and fun. The menus and aesthetic are one of the standouts for sure
@@WickedBowserJr I'd say it depends. The Switch has some of the highest highs for Nintendo, but it also does have some lows, imo. I don't like it that Nintendo doesn't really care about customizing their menus nowadays. The Wii, DSI, Wii U, and 3DS have menu music and their menu designs are all unique in some way.
It could be due to how weak the switch actually is. It's not *that* much stronger than the Wii U but since games are way more demanding now than back with the Wii U, they had to sacrifice the menus in order to have more resources (Ram mainly) for the games. The Wii U only had 2 GB of Ram, 1 of which was for the menus alone. The switch has 4 GB, going with a very minimalistic menu was a much better choice than going with something that eats 25-50% of what's available.
@@stupidrobotproductions627 I think having the games run significantly better is worth sacrificing some menus that you'll ultimately only be on to select a game anyways. Like, have you seen how badly the eshop runs on switch? That's what the whole menu to select a game would be like if they made it look pretty. I'm glad they kept their hardware in mind when designing it, and hopefully on the next console, they have enough room to make the menus look nice, run well, and still have resources for the games.
One thing I miss from the Wii days is every game having a splash screen.
