I'm honestly still surprised at the amount of support that still goes into the Wii Homebrew scene even today, considering how long since the console has been relevant. I suppose once emulation of the Wii becomes more commonplace like other more retro systems in another, say, 5 years, all this effort put into maintaining its online play will pay off.
I reckon the wii will be the biggest homebrew console ever. Bigger then the og xbox or up with it purely because how easy it is to homebrew it and how many options it has. It's that happy medium between complicated but not too hard to program for. Even thought It's 3d it can also be 2d plus the internet makes a difference. It has the best menu out of every console in my opinion
