There is the classic Rank 1 D/D engine , that involves 3 of the savant with 0 ATK 0 DEF that searches Dark Contracts on Normal summon , 1 Lamia & 2 of the Dark Contract that searches once per turn. The savant is a 1 card Rank 1.
thank you for those there are a lot of engines i dont know about or dont know how they work and your engine explained videos give me good ideas of where and how to use these engines
Something to add would be a Ghostrick Field spell and a copy of Ghostrick Renovation. This gives you more search targets with Angel, a potential field spell search of any field spell in the game, and if you have room in extra, Renovation can be banished to add more material into an Xyz monster for more Zeus. Downside being that 3 pseudo garnets may be scary for some decks. Drawing one is fine, and can allow you to search a floodgate field spell on your opponents turn, but drawing multiples can be very bricky.
Great stuff. Two ideas for top 10 videos. First is top 10 rank 4 xyz monsters and the second is top 10 link monsters you can go into during your oppents turn using ip masquerade
So I've been playing around with the kuriboh archetype. Particularly with the off the wall plays that things like multiply can do with one kuriboh - allowing the resources for law of the normal (given that the 5 kuriboh tokens are all normal monsters level 2 or below), as well as playing around with the idea for using them as tribute fodder for dystopia the despondent - plus playing with skilled brown magicians level them triggering 5 star twilight for all sorts of plays. With the 5 "kuri" monsters (beh, ba, boh, buu, and I forget the last one) I think you could probably also use them as a level 1 engine to go into dulihan for the rank 1 play
I would love you to do a engine explained on a dragon link deck; as they use 2-3 different engines and its quite hard for new players to understand how they work in tandem with one another.
Lyriluscs are basically THE Rank 1 engine, and were a popular Tri-Brigade sidearm for a while in the TCG after the Drident and Barrage bans forced them to drop Zoodiacs. I actually saw a couple "Bird Ups" comps in the Link event, as even without their XYZ that brand of birds can still get spammy enough for Link climbing.
I think he already mention that he purposely skip an archtype that focus on summoning specific level or ranks *if you already use an archtype that focus on rank 1 engine, you could just go directly into draco future anyway
I don't know if you'd call it Scrap Raptor engine or just Scrap, but I think they'd be good for one of these. I use Scrap Raptor, Chimera, Wyvern, and Golem, in my Dinosaur deck, but they probably have utility in other things. One Scrap Raptor could be full Halq/Cupid Pitch combo before got banned, and it's still any generic Rank 4 or two effect monsters on the field.
I'm using Ghostrick Shot combo since it got released on master duel on my live☆twin deck, and honestly, i like as a going 1st option more than Trouble Sunny.
I like to run 2x ghostrick shots bc of what logs said about drawing on it, it becomes dead in your hand, but at 2 it’s okay. And it helps extending further combos at extra copies :)
Honestly I would like to see an explanation on Armed Dragon/Armed Dragon Thunders as someone who’s tried to make them it’s difficult in this format as I’ve fallen off of keeping up with sets and new cards to add
Inside the Ghostrick, you can use Ghostrick Siren to dump and search Shot. Set 1st Siren, activate Shot to SS 2nd Siren in hands or GY AND flip 1st Siren up, dumping 2 top cards and add Shot from deck for later use. Renovation also good one for swapping Ghostrick XYZ when dumped by Siren, even if you only play 1 Ghostrick Field Edit : Keep in mind this is only for AoM win effect, and kinda hard in one turn
The whole point is to detect the lower rank 3 so you can use shot to rank up to another Mischief. I find being a Ghostrick player you can get additional resource and return resources before the Utopic ranking.
Love these engine videos Duellogs! Have you considered a video on “Fallen of Albaz” since it involves multiple archtypes and engines? Might be a longer video but I’d love to see it explained.
So, this engine uses 1 space in your deck, and 5 to 7 spaces in your extra, depending on the diferent levels your using to make the other 3 ghostrick xyz.
I mean you can get the Win condition of ghostrick angel with xyz into Ghostrick card (2), rank up (3), attach (4), use trickshot gy effect (5), use renovation gy effect to turn into new xyz (6), rank up (7), attach (8). All in turn one. THEN turn 2 just needs 2nd trickshot gy effect, or renovation gy effect. And win.
Awesome video as always. I started watching a few years ago and it helped me understand links well enough to play. Just wondering are there any fun engines with darklords? They're fun when merged with despia but I don't know much about them.
It's worse than Evil Thorn, but D-Boyz is a generic lv1 monster that can summon additional copies of itself. (But it's on a flip effect & deals damage to you rather than your opponent)
I really wish you woul do this type of Video for ritual beasts since they are my favorite Archetype and i still get confused about their mechanics but i also tested around alot of ghostrick and enjoy this Video alot.
I love ghostricks and I love this engine. This is a really small one, however since I want to play Ghostricks and not just UDF turbo and leave it at that, I use a bigger one and there are some more plays combo ghostricks can do. 1) Renovation and mansion provide not just a searchable metaverse for any field you want but also, easy removal of your second field spell, a targeting dodge for your angel or Gt xyz, and mansion has come up a lot of times versus decks that want to otk you. 2) 2 Shots is pretty mandatory to loop alucard cause you never know when you will need an effect, and also they don't just go into UDF but also a 4 mat zeus and megaclops. 3) They can play through hand traps, rank 3 can even better, but if they don't ash or negate the combo you will get protection from monster handtraps and due to alucard you can play through imperm and called by. In fact I play second in one of my decks, cause even if ashed I can still get a zeus. 4) With sprights you may not be able to recover shot, however you can actually set neko lock. All you need is neko in the grave or neko in the hand and in fact cause of sprights every level 2 deck can be used to pull that off. 5) There is a way to get UDF or simply extend in rank 4 engines, you use parallel and festival. Reminder that you don't need angel to be your second rank 4, it can be anything else like for example traptrix allomerus to ss a traptrix and go into sera, and since you got festival and a setup a continuous 2k burn to the face seems much more feasible. What I want to stress is, that slower variants that play control and use main deck Ghostricks. Don't fall that far behind, cause there are other bullshit that they can go into, and they are the ones that are getting buffed the whole year. They have no issue playing with gozen or even tcboo, festival enables dogmatika which in turn enable shaddol, and free protection with lord and calamity is nothing to scoff at. And ofc being able to use runicks, labrynth, zombie world, lair of darkness etc...
I use this engine in a Paleozoic deck. It works amazingly well with strategies that can already go into Rank 1, 2 or 3 naturally. Didn't draw Diva? That's fine, I can still get out F0 with two Paleos, and then use Diva for an easy Anomalocaris when I do draw it.
On the level 1 engines, lyriluscs say hi. Sure they don't need the ghosttricks but they do allow the option in winged-beast decks. EDIT: There's also the 2-card combo of morphtronic telefon and machine duplication as an option too.
Yeah but if you play Lyriluscs in the first place why even bother with the Ghostrick Engine when Lyriluscs with Recital is the best deck to make UDF with anyway. Why would you waste more extra deck slots for a worse way to make UDF that also needs garnets? ^^
If you do the combo using Alucard, then you can also revive Alurcard with Shot on a future turn, banish the Shot from Grave to attach Angel, then use Alucard’s effect again to destroy another set card.
I think Dullahan can be the Extend to F0, some time you Go to the Lyrilusk and add DD crow, or also you can Engine to the F0. Instead to go in the Typical Drytrons, This can make a play around Nibiru With just 2 Drytron Name. Also The Drytron Gamma is also 1 card 2 Drytron, you can maybe combo this first and go to the drytron combo for Rituals. The ghostrick engine is also food For Pot of Avarice. All you need is to Maybe Link Up the F0 and you have 5 card in Gy.
Lyrilusc is also a really good rank 1 engine and would be able to easily get out the rank 1 ghostrick, if they didn't already have really easy access to F0 in their own archetype
General rule of thumb; If it just says "once per turn", it's a soft once per turn. I.e, "Once per turn, you can send one card from the field to the graveyard." Hard once per turn usually says "you can only activate this effect of (card name) once per turn". I.e, "You can send one monster from the field to the graveyard. You can only use this effect of (card name) once per turn".
For Ghosttrick Angel effect to detach a xyz material to get Shot. Since you searching the deck can't you just "fail to find" if you already have shot in hand like MTG? Or how does Yu-Gi-Oh! rules work in that regard
