Hello Dr Sten Ekberg, thank you for sharing all your knowledge in helping myself and millions around the world. Could you please make a video on the carnivore diet. I would like to hear your opinion on the diet. Best regards Ronnie.

This is exactly how I view paleo - it's a path, a guideline, not a precise menu from the paleolith.

I think you gave a great explanation. However, my sense is that most people were still generally very healthy from 10,000 years ago up until about 1900. And still very little in the way of heart disease, obesity, etc. until around the 1960s or 1970s, which really coincided with the huge increase in sugar, seed oils, chemicals, and processed food in the diet.

According to Weston Price extremely healthy swiss (living high in the mountians, away from mainroads and this way isolated) had a culture of dairy and rye bread or rye cereal, with meat only once a week.
Celtics of outer Hebridse islands had a diet of fish and seafood + oat cake, because only oat could grow on their specific soil. Weston Price himself was pro-grains and even healed a boy with a severe arthrithies, using only whole milk, bread made from freshly (which is important for B vitamins and E vitamin) ground wheat and twice a day a teaspoon of butter (grass-fed) + cod fish liver oil. So, he was for grains and not against them.
Recently i've started sprouting grains and then baking panbread right after grinding them. It tastes much different from any bread or pasta, or bakery, or porridge that i've ever tasted before. He was a very wise man and there is definitely something in this freshly ground bread. It tastes well.

This diet would be a lot easier if we weren't so inundated with herbicides, pesticides, GMOs and other issues with fresh vegetables and fruit. A purely organic diet for a family is for most people not affordable.

    • @Knaeben
      @Knaeben 5 лет назад +1

Yea, I'm a single guy and the bill for doing organic can really add up. And that's just me, no family. I can't always afford it.

Honestly why they tempered with mother nature I would’ve been easier just meat and vegetables and eating healthy. Lots of the good vegetables and fruits if you check them against highest on pesticides they top the lists

Regarding legumes, it is central in Mediterranean diet which has proved to be a very healthy diet through decades. Not only we should keep it but we should eat more of it, as long as we balance the carbs in our diet.

Isn't the main point, that it does not mater what we eat,
(as long it is not poisons) but that the frequency that they ate, kept them healthy?

Thank you for another great video, always so informative and engaging. On Paleo diet (autoimmune version), feel heaps better, but find it very hard to maintain it as I have salicylates intolerance and various allergies. Most fruit and vegetables have high level of salicylates and also the recommended oils such as coconut oil, avocado oil. I have a sweet tooth and find it hard to make something without flour, coconut oil. ghee. Also, how can I get rid of my salicylate intolerance and food allergies (it only appeared a few years ago). Thanks

It's easy. Very few paleolithic populations had any substantial access to beans and other legumes. Not that they're necessarily bad, they just aren't "paleo". The diet is attempting to recreate what paleolithic populations, across the board, ate. There are always exceptions. They found grasses and grains on a grinding tool dating back 30k years. It wasn't widely available except for a few specific populations.

He already mentioned that they did NOT eat grains thousands of years ago, plus you don't HAVE TO HAVE milk. Its for young ones anyways who can't eat solid food. Pay attention to the teachings man.

So I use to do the paleo diet, followed Mark Sisson for over 3 years, it fixed my stomach problems and lost 55 pounds of ugly fat, and I felt great at first and it was really fun eating this way, but unfortunately, I just didn’t work out for me, I ended up with real bad depression, feeling constantly tired, frequent headache’s, stinky breath, kidney stones and then erectile dysfunction after about 2 years in on it. And I am only in my early 30' and I know that's not normal! It was quite scary, and I had to stop.

Hunter-gatherers (from my understanding) lived in relative affluence. They shared, without expecting reciprocation. That was because of ABUNDANCE of resources, including food. I don't believe there was much hierarchy, and not much violence between the people. Correct me, If I'm wrong, of course! They had to hustle, for certain, but they shared, prolifically.

So I am a nurse so I like the scientific facts thank you for your videos I believe if we were all farmers living off the land using our calories we could probably eat everything in moderation whole foods, fruits, vegetables, meat and we probably be all feeling pretty good. My husband and I went keto two years ago we were very strict for the first year he didn't lose much of anything he's a bodyvery dedicated to working out he never got the energy boost or mind clarity but we know we were eating clean we were pretty healthy before that. I went from 148 to 135 not meaning to so that was a positive now we are two years in we have no energy. We are thinking of trying Paleo for a couple months and seeing how we feel. We love vegetables and fruit we miss our fruit I am fine with making Paleo desserts or keto desserts my kids think they're just as good. Do you think will get more energy from Paleo with the push of whole foods and not The 20 g of carbs a day

Hi Tera, hope you are well i had try all diets to confirm myself which is the best, after all all our bodies works different with different needs, i had Paleo, only meat, vegetarian vegan, keto, ect
For me works best 60% veggies and fruits with 40% meat, fish, eggs, cheese, yogurt with .Low Carb, no added sugar.
Trying and error is the way foward.
What's working for someone will not work for you.
      Good luck 👍
