- Finding parking is one of the biggest challenges people face when they decide to go tiny. I know this firsthand because it was one of the first obstacles I faced in my own tiny house journey. In this episode I'm going to show you exactly how I found my parking spot. PLUS some very important things I wish I had known when I first met my land host for the first time.
Thank you for doing this video, it was very helpful. I’ve been wanting to go tiny for 10 years but really didn’t know how to go about finding a parking spot other than an RV park (been there done that with a 5th wheel and won’t do that again) or buying some land. We want to be able to lease a spot for awhile prior to buying any land to make sure that’s where we want to live on a long term basis. Your suggestions on how to word a post and where to do it was just what we needed to hopefully move forward, thank you. By the way I love your tiny home.😊
I’m so glad that this video helped you! Best of luck finding the right spot!
HAHAHA of course she called you a liberal. MAGA Is the most miserable group of people on earth.
@@trailheadtiny New subscriber here... love your channel! A quality parking spot is one of the most challenging aspects of tiny living. This video was very helpful! I'd prefer to own a small plot of land and wondered if that's something you may have researched for the future of your tiny?
I live way out in the countryside in Virginia and have 10 acres. The local county told me if I had a motorhome I could not stay in it at any time because it was against the law. I have a pretty large house then have thought about renting it outand putting a tiny home on my property, but I don’t think that would be approved by the county. I have perfect area to put a tiny home. But keep an eye on everybody’s property from above.
Jen, you said in a previous video that to get content out more regularly you’d be simplifying your videos with fewer action angles, so to speak. I love these videos of you mostly just sitting and chatting with us. Great tips as always. P.S. Your mailbox is adorable.
Thank you so much! The mailbox was a housewarming gift made by land ladies ❤️
Hello, for some reason I bumped into your channel and I began to watch your videos. I found them to be very interesting and informative. You have a way to captivate your audience and to relate your experiences both good and not so good to our daily lives. Thank you for sharing your life knowledge and experiences. I am not one to subscribe to channels easily but from what I have watched, perhaps I will soon. Thank you for your hard work and sharing.
Thank-you for posting this video Jen. It's got great information (and tips) about what to look for and consider what might make a tiny house parking spot work and what wouldn't. I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week!
You are very welcome! I hope you have a great week as well ❤️
Hey, Jen..... excited to see your new video!! : )
Thanks Ann ❤️
Excellent presentation!! 👍
Thank you ☺️❤️
Great information, thank you!
I'm glad it helped! 🙏
Thank you so much! It is so helpful to have tips from those that are living it.
You’re very welcome!☺️
all great information
Yay. I asked you this a couple times, thank you for making a video of it. I think I’d prefer my own land but yeah every town has building codes and zoning rules, it’s very hard to navigate.
It definitely is confusing with so much variation! Good luck to you ❤️
Very interesting
I live in Colorado and looked into finding a place to rent for a tiny house and I gave up! It was insane trying to find a place
For WiFi could you have purchased star link? Might be easier to just have your own. No wiring involved.
I live in Denver County and as progressive as CO and Denver can be, there is still a hurdle with TH on wheels. Remember when they passed the law to finally allow people to live in their tiny FT? That was great, but downside is each county can still decide whether or not they allow them. Denver still does not allow TH on wheels. Sure, they'll let you put something that is 400 SF on a foundation but who can afford a parcel of land here, if you can find one that's suitable. For all the issues that CO has with affordable housing and the lack of it, they sure do keep putting up roadblocks for those who just want to live affordably. This is why I will end up leaving Denver, and possibly CO. I still have about 5 years before I'm going to buy, so who knows, maybe progress will be made in that time frame.
Yeah I’m with you. The tiny house thing they passed didn’t really seem to create any improvements for anyone I know. It definitely is a frustrating process to figure out.
Have you ever disclosed the cost of your tiny house?
This is my biggest barrier to getting a THOW.
I know it can be frustrating. Don’t give up!
I don’t mind living small as I’ve been doing so for 5 years. I simply don’t want to live in the equivalent of an RV in a trailer park parking spot mobile home. I’m going to build on a lot that I own and it’ll be a permanent structure.
That sounds like a great plan!
What State are you in? Where I am, it's not legal to have a THOW on property, even as an "ADU" - So the option is a tiny house village or RV park.
she lives in Colorado
