"If you make it to the morning." That line resonated deeply because there was many where I almost didn't make it to the next dawn light. Holding a bottle of pills and every time either my dog came up and nosed them or pawed them away or a friend would message almost as though they had some kind of sense I needed a shoulder. As of April 27th I am 3 years and 4 months self harm free. I last used a crisis line November 2020. I still keep it near but it does get better and I hope whoever needs this nudge sees this. Pursue you even if others don't like it or care. Pursue your dreams even when others scorn or laugh. Pursue what makes you happy because in the end, the ones who matter most and care about you will still be there by your side.
Stay strong, man. It's been hard. I know. You're not the only one.

Wow... This song hits home. I am proud to say I chose to save my story two years ago, when I decided to hold on and stay strong.
There are days when life is down, but there are some when it is up and happy, and I decided it is better to live for those happy moments. Stay strong out there

As much as I love Citizen Soldier's songs I've gotta admit, "Would Anyone Care" will always be my number 1 favorite out of all the songs they make. Love this song though!❤

And I sent it to a dear friend as he was about to attempt to end his life and he reconsidered. That song has a special place in my heart.

@Sarafina Summers Hallelujah is one I play in the gym! I love Irreplaceable as well. Also a bit obsessed with Monster made of memories and Cage right now. You are very right there's so many good choices. Weight of the world is my favourite because it got me through a dark time, but literally all choices are valid.
For me its irreplaceable. The lyrics for that song hits like a MF truck.
Citizen has often been the only thing keeping me alive at times so for that I thank you. This song has meant so much to me since the first time I heard it and I have listened to this song almost every day since.

Wow I'm actually early on this one. Guys I wanted to tell you, your music has literally got me out of depression. I remember finding your band back in December 2020. My country was hit bad by covid and my studies too were taking a huge toll on my mental health. I remember the first song of yours I listened was "My Little Secret". And from there I just fell in love with you. Although I'm doing way better now, I can never forget just how much you guys mean to me. Loads of love to y'all.

I love the line “will you be remembered by what darkness did or what you did with it”! I choose to be remembered for what I did with it. We can all get through our pain. Thank you, Citizen Soldier for that reminder 💜

That was such a powerful verse, I love how inspiring the song is, it was something I needed to hear since I have a tendency to get depressed: I often think about how meaningless my life is and how insignificant my actions are, I feel I cannot and will never be able to help anybody else, so I wonder if there's even a point in keep trying. Maybe it's just because of the voices in my head and the echoes that I hear, but I cannot help asking myself if I'll be ever useful or happy. So thank you Citizen Soldier for always reminding me that's none of that it's true, and give me hope whenever I need it💛

hey I just wanted to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart, ive been trough so much suffering i was about to go for suicide a couple weeks ago but than i discoceres you and your music helped mee so mich to recover from my so far worst depression... My Dad never accepted me as his son bcs he was convinced my mother cheated on him (I look exactly like him) wich is just digusting me sice he cheated on my mother weekly... even with her own fucking sister...Ive never known love since I can think... My Dad and a lot of family members used to insult me bcs i was a little overweighted... so i started working out bcs I love the doubt it makes me go even harder and further... I used to do between 100-300 Pushups daily, only eating one meal a day... with 11... till today I suffer from anorexia nervosa, or how most people call it a fitness eating disturbance...
My Dad used to beat up my Mom almost daily... ive been traumatized till today from that one night she came running, bleeding and blue beaten in my room while screaming... I used to have the only lookable door in our house... so that was her only option, I hold her in my arm while she cried, over and over telling he everything will be fine... while my Dad was busy beeing drunk trying to kick down the door I pushed against with all my body... I just turned 10 when this night happend... He also used to torture our Pets, not feeding them for a Week while locking them up, punching, kicking them, he even used to throw glas bottles at them or ignite their furr, when u wanted to cuddle your dog you felt more rips than furr...I was used to having to protect my mother and my younger siblings from my Dad from a very young age and even tho it brought me hellalot of deamons i struggle with daily, it also forged an unbreakable iron will and warriors heart...lately ive been trying to get rid of all these traumas... I wrote 18Pages about all my childhood traumas... lately my Depression is dragging me down so badly... I lost my girlfirend due to her problem with dugs... i tried to help her over months, but eventually she lost interest in giving a fuck about our relationship or me in general all she cared for is how to get high... this really hit me deep... since ive been there before aswell... 2 Weeks later my best friend left me 2... aswell as the majority of my friends since my ex told them i didnt even tried to help her... not like i care its just sad... but im used to that ...my family always only consited of hatred lies and Violence...
anyways thx for reading all that... I love your songs they help me so much when im at my lowest... you guys are easily my favourite band and probably the most inspiring one aswell... i feel a very deep emotional conection to your vovalist... damn i would give everything to drink a beer with that guys bcs he seems like my soulmate haha..

I am living proof of this. It took a severe crash to send me for help, and then nearly a decade of finding the appropriate medication and intensive therapy. But I've moved from staying alive to not take myself from my family to staying alive because I don't want to lose my family.
It's only a small distinction, but it is a very important one. I deserve to have good people in my life, and if I die, I have no life for those good people to be in.
Your music has instrumental in my healing process, and I send it to people who let me know they're struggling. I will be a human lighthouse; I am defined by the times I didn't quit.

This song makes me cry like a baby. I wish my brother could have heard this. He's one of the 22 vets a day that lost their fight that was nearly 14 years ago and it still hurts so much. So it makes this song so painful beautiful song to me.

God, all of Citizen Soldier's songs are a blessing to hear. I was thinking of suicide at the start of my teenage years, y'know 13-14 - if I had taken my life that very day, I would have never gotten to say I lived a life at all. I never would have managed to figure out what the future has in store, and my story would have ended far before it started. These songs speak to me, in a way I never thought music could. Keep making iconic and amazing songs, Citizen Soldier!

Not even kidding nor joking, a tear ran down my cheek when I heard it. Perhaps it's true;
"You are more than you're enduring, you can make it to the morning"
This is especially "close" to home because of my love for fantasy - in all the tales of good and evil, the dark is the evilest, it's always the coldest, and if you can make it through the night, hold out until the morning, until you see and feel the warm sun, it's the proof you can defeat the evil, that you're indeed more than you're enduring.
Citizen Soldier, if you'll read this, know that I'm probably speaking for a lot of people (keep going on, folks!) - thank you. For this. You're a part of, if not the sole thing, what drives us forward.

I love these songs. I never cried so much when I heard your songs. These song struck a chord with me because many of these song I have felt many times in my life and even now. It is hard to keep fighting when the world seems to only keep tearing you down. People can be cruel. What makes it even harder for me is that I left a cult about year ago and I struggle with day to day. Life is never easy.

I've heard quite a few songs about not giving up when the pain seems unbearable, and some of them made me want to step back from that ledge. Maybe I'm just in a different place mentally than I was then, but hearing this one inspires me to really walk away from it, and find a way to make something out of what I've become.

😭😭😭😭 This brings me back to I thought about ending it for years. I can say, personally- Yes it was hard but I was able to see the morning, letting God carry me when I didn't have the will or strength left. I now have a life I thank daily for, filled with love and a chance to build myself into a better person.

😅 I've been told that I'm like a light in the dark and that people have no idea how I do it because they could never do it. I typically stay quiet because I have no idea either. I'm on the edge quite frequently because I'm tired. Songs like this are what keep me going. They remind me that I'm not alone and that I have a reason to keep going. After 30 years, I have finally started building my little slice of paradise on earth.
