Specifically, I want to know if the headset plays incoming radio transmissions in both ears similar to a set of earbuds on my cellphone) or will the radio transmissions only come through one side? I understand the noise reduction/amplification is on both sides, but I am trying to figure out how radio messages work.

    • @ReconBrothers

      As said in the video the ComTac III is nothing else but the American version of the ComTac XP. The ComTac XPI has a remarkable amount of improvements compared to its predecessor as mentioned in the video. The ComTac VI's are equipped with some more tech like the NIB & MAP. Unfortunately when it comes to headsets with microphones there're no "mid brands". It's either cheap crap or expensive reliable stuff. im planning to get one of these, the cheap headsets have issues like their rubber became sticky over several years and battery compartment cover just snapped from cheap plastic i guess(i didnt abuse it or anything)
    The worst part is fitment as i started to notice my right ear was leeaking abit of sound through and over heavy serious loud sounds that would have damaged one of my ears without me even realizing it, so maybe gel cushion would work better idk

    • @ReconBrothers

      Yes, sadly there are no good cheap alternatives when it comes to these types of products and midrange headset (with boom mic) just doesn't exist. From what we know, you can't go wrong with PELTOR or SORDIN. Best stay away from the popular Ops-Core AMP, it has too many issues.

    • @ReconBrothers
      @ReconBrothers  3 года назад

      @@TwizzElishus When it comes to sizing you will be best with the Sordin. Because a Peltor has even less extension on its bridge. Another option is to go for a neckband with Sordin. Those are pretty good as well, but as for the size I can't tell by heart whether it's more than a headband one. A helmet mounted setup is another option which will probably fit best, since it's as wide as the helmet itself, but you do need a helmet then. Did you fit a Sordin or a MSA Sordin?
