Nice! I repaired a BG86C last week. Diaphragms were fine but purge bulb wasn’t filling and couldn’t get it to fire, even with starter spray. I removed the two plugs, valves and springs in the check valve assembly, made new nitrile valves and tried it out - still not pumping fuel. In the end I had to replace the carb with a Hutzl one (Hipa didn’t have that model) and it fired up and ran flawlessly with no adjustment. Sometimes you just have to fire that damned parts cannon! 😂🔧👍
I have a tach which has no wires and works fine, but is a PITA to hold sometimes when I’m tuning. Found an app for my iPhone which works off sound instead of electrical impulse so I can prop it up somewhere behind a machine or engine and have both hands free for tuning. Works on 2T, 4T and any number of cylinders up to 8. There’s a bit of a learning curve, but it works really well. First time I tried it out I measured the RPM of my fridge! It’s called Engine RPM and I can’t recommend it highly enough. I can even measure RPM of a TV show or someone running an engine in a video online. That way I know what speed the machine is running even if they don’t!
