i think it was honestly fair. it’s not like Mark used anything that Shake Shack doesn’t. quality control could vary when leaving it in the restaurant’s hands
He still should have gotten a burger at the shake shack just to compare . Of course the chef version will be better compared to what you will normally get 😂
This episode was good, but yea I gotta agree. He got the private jet version of the Shake Shack experience when the rest of us will only experience economy seating. If Josh isn't trying to beat a burger made by a minimum wage employee who's 20 minutes from the end of their shift, than it's not the pure But Better experience.

Massive love and support from the UK my friend.
IMO the bun is the most overlooked aspect of many high-end burger places, or people who review burgers. The ratio of meat to bread, how soft the bun is relative to the meat, and how well it holds everything together will make or break a burger IMO. Potato buns are great, but being from CA the gold standard for me is the sponge dough buns from In-N-Out.
Speaking as someone living in Japan at the moment, the root beer is definitely one of the wins for me. Can't get it anywhere else here and it's not just Mug crap, it's really good.
Josh has always had an advantage in the 'but better' series, He makes his food and tastes it soon after plating, compared to tasting the restaurant food, which are at a minimum 20 to 30 minutes old.
You're missing the point of the series. Josh is not competing with minimum-wage workers from fast food joints working to pay off their debts. It's ridiculous. The point is anyone can make a better, healthier and often cheaper (well there is another series for that) version of these meals. His recipes are what's important, his culinary skills will obviously be better. The fact that his home-made recipe could compete with the secret recipe of a multi-million dollar company like Shake-Shack is much more impressive.
@@randomuser5237 In the series, Joshua goes to a restuarant, orders food, gets it home, and tastes it. He is tasting food that was initially made hot and that turned cold by the time he brought it home. His preparations in the series are tasted soon after they are completely made, which is hot/warm. Hot or warm food always will be more flavorful and thereby have an advantage over cold food. What I'm saying is Josh should be tasting the food soon after he receives it, at the restuarant itself or probably in his car, when it is still warm. The competition is in flavor, which the restaurant bought food is at a disadvantage when it's tasted, due to it being cold. It's never about workers wages or Josh's culinary skills.
Mark is awesome. I’m an Angeleno, and, when I was younger, one of my favorite adventures searching for the best burger in LA. Super fun and never ending options!
