- I spent 3 days working to give The Sims 4 Seasons an options overhaul. Now you can totally control everything, and it's much better. Want to disable weather? You got it. Want plants in season or to automatically skip a season you don't like? DO IT! This mod gives you tons of options.

Carl, will this work for consolers as well?
Any chance you can set custom season lengths and/or custom season settings per world? I'd love to have certain worlds with longer winters but others with long summer and no winter at all. Think it's possible?

@@ashleyg7356 Lol yeah I'm not paying for a mod for a game he doesn't own. Great mod but making people pay for it is dumb. It's not his property and he could even get in trouble with EA.. This goes for any game, modders can't make fans pay for the mod cause they don't own the game. I don't care if he spent 1000 hours on this. Not many people will pay for a mod

The most annoying one is when a full grown tree has to regrow because of whatever reason.. I hate that 😤
that's a bug in the game EA can't be arsed to fix... been in there for years... either you're lucky because you don't have it, or you have the bug...
It doesn't take too long for them to grow back. But, it spoils things when you have a row of them and there are gaps missing randomly. I don't know if its a glitch but I keep getting more and more money trees. I have more than 50 of them growing now so I just keep selling the seeds rather than growing more of them. It must be a glitch, it makes the game far too easy. My Sims never need to work and can hire all kinds of help, which at least gives me something else to figure out.

@@slashedbeauty No, it's completely random. Sometimes when a check is done to grow the plant (not just trees, but garden plants too) or to grow it's produce, and it'll bug out and reset the age of the plant to minimum, aka just planted. Sometimes I'll just have a couple reset, and sometimes my entire fucking garden will just reset out of nowhere.
I'm so excited! I've been wanting to play as if my sims lived in a forever cold and snowy world since seasons came out, but the only way to do that is to live on the mountain in MT Komorebi! Perpetual winter storyline, here I come!
Oh hell, I've definitely got you covered there. Might need to delete some holidays. Or make the season 28 days, that'll work/help too!
First I thought I don't need this mod but some time ago I wanted to play an ice age challenge and Mt Komorebi didn't fit well to my storyline.
i'm facepalming at the fact this wasn't already possible. i don't play anymore and just assumed that was basic stuff. smh
And it helps people who want to do an old-school apocalypse-style challenge. Nuclear winter, anyone?

Oh thank you Carl! I missed being able to set custom seasons. I loved to create my own climate in TS2 and I was super disappointed I couldn't do that in 4. I don't always want to have a crazy scientist machine just so that I can have a snowy world... I mean yeah sure we have Mount Komorebi but... a ski paradise doesn't fit every scenario either.
I just wish we didn't need to download mods for simple things like this that were features even in older games, but not in TS4... But I'm so glad we have people willing to give back players these options!

I didn't think I needed this mod until I started scrolling through the comments and seeing everyone's awesome story ideas. Your mods are making the Sims fun to play again and inspiring people!!
Good job, Carl! THANK YOU for giving us options for once. Yeesh. Honestly, I don't mind most of the things that come with Seasons, but when I'm building for the gallery, and I just want to include a little garden with edible harvestables for all the recipes, I get frustrated with waiting out the Seasons to get them all going. And when it's time to upload to the gallery, having to hit a day that's not cloudy or dark, for the screenshot, and to have all the deco plants be bright and pretty. I've gotten this by saving my lots to my library, then starting new saves in Summer, and placing the lot. You get a better chance of a bright sunny day and a good screenshot that way. YOUR way is SO MUCH BETTER.
Also, while we're at it, can SOMEBODY please fix the damned gallery. The awful screenshots they give us, the way it pukes on descriptions that have apostrophes in them, or it decides a name is BAD, when part of it has a FORBIDDEN WORD in it, just drives me bats!

OMFG Carl just did what the Sims team should have done when Seasons came out. Carl .. I can't express the level of gratitude I have for you making this MOD. I mean you just joining the modding community in an of itself is such a breath of fresh air. We really owe our gameplay to all of you modders and I wish I could give you a million dollars for doing this, but I'm poor so you will just have to accept my sincerest thanks. 😊

Though I haven't been playing TS4, I've been playing TS2 and loving it. I don't even know when I will be playing 4 again, we are totally enjoying 2 and talking about moving on to 3 in a couple months. For both 2 and 3 there are still things I've never done, some not done fully. I'm still discovering and I just don't get that feel from 4 but when I was playing a few months ago, I just didn't want to play because of all that was WRONG. Some of those things this mod will fix for me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I start playing 4 again and I just can't think of playing without this.

You're really killin it in the mods department! It's so cool seeing you go from all the detailed guides on your website (still love and use the ts3 ones a lot!) to "I'M FIXING THE SIMS AND YOU CAN'T STOP ME."
You're diving into territory I wish The Sims team thought about and implemented. It's more of an issue in Sims 4 to me but I do recall having a few issues with 3 and 2 over some things but I'll narrow it to seasons for now. Why the team never thought to make each season optional and customizable I don't get. It would be nice to set you own weather and weather pattern for the world (and with Sims 3 and 2 where we could create worlds it would've been nice to set the weather and in Sims 3 the festival days in each season).
I know they've done and are looking into other pack refreshes but if they'd taken the time and did it right the first time pack refreshes wouldn't be necessary. I don't want content now, I want well thought out, thoroughly tested, completed content when it's actually ready.
The hero we both want and need. This and your other mod have me thinking I may actually start up my game for the first time since...I think maybe spring.

@@mrseddiediaz leaves eventually goes away in real life however it's a terrible glitch that EA has that the fall leaves stay on the ground ALL seasons. It's very annoying. Especially on the streets you can't edit

the ONLY thing I've always hated about seasons is the plants always having to be sheltered now 😭
If you don't want to have to cheat for some of the things, there is an in game work around for out of season plants. All you need is a covered area. You don't even need a greenhouse, just a roof. If you wanted, you could extend your roof over an area, put some pillars down to make it look possible and out of season plants will still grow under there. Sheltered plants will not have as good of yields as when they are in season, but it is better than getting nothing. Sill downloading the mod though due to all the other options. Thank you Carl. EA should be paying you because you are doing more for their community than they are. I mean you fixed plants reverting to dirt piles all the time. I can finally install Eco Lifestyle and convert every area to smog filled wastelands again.
They still revert into dirt piles sometimes though. I’m having that problem in my game.

Honestly I always grow all of my plants in a sheltered state but I absolutely hate the way they look in winter. That twiggy look completely ruins the aesthetics of all my builds so for me, the fact I can now have green plants through all the seasons makes me want to play with the gardening skill again.
@@playalot8513 Mine did but only once so far. There is however a huge lag spike at 5am every morning. The more plants I have, the longer the lag.
Thank you so much! I wasn't gardening in The Sims 4 because I didn't like how quickly my plants went out of season, but didn't want to sacrifice all of Seasons' features to meet one preference of mine.
And thank you for the low price as well. I find it very considerate of you to make your work so accessible. I'm broke af atm, but even I can justify a dollar, especially for an individual creator who's improving the game so much for the community. ♡ Modders are truly generate souls, and I appreciate all of you for helping us get more enjoyment and longevity out of our games. In both lean times and otherwise, you all help us enjoy whatever entertainment we have to the fullest and I love every one of you for it.
Don't get me wrong: you do you. However, I don't understand wanting to enable plants growing in snow. Maybe if you have a mild winter mod to emulate Australia? But growing in cold breaks the illusion of realism: where I live, everything dies in winter. Frankly, dormancy is already an unrealistic bonus!

My plants turning into dirt piles drives my buggy. I only own bg so the perpetual sunshine is addicting. My daughter owns most every pack so I do love the weather too, at times.
According to the post I cite in my video, it's also due to some form of natural decay on plant evolution that I want to disable while still allowing plants to die.
@@CarlsSimGuides Wait, what? that sounds "on purpose". I'm DEAD! someone needs to reset Me cause that makes ZERO sense. The amount of time I spend shift click set growth stage on so many plants...

Woww I haven't touched sims 4 in almost 2 years but got back into watching sims channels, and the things modders like you can do are amazing!!! This is incredibly useful for building, I may get back into it if only for build mode (the best thing sims 4 has since everything else is lackluster lol)

Amazing mod! Thank you so much, and thank you even MORE for explaining why my plants revert back to dirt piles when I garden constantly, watering, weeding and what I THOUGHT was fertalizing my plants and crops! I love cottage living and having my sims live off the land and get SO disappointed when my plants go back to dirt plies. I am also very excited to make my plants always in-season! Thank you SO MUCH!!!! You are amazing!!

I really have to ask you (since you seem to like modding challenges).... can you also fix The Sims 3?
There's a glitch since it came out as 64-bit where you can't use any open water. Yes, that's right. You can live on a beautiful island, or even be a mermaid, but you can't use the ocean. It drives me crazy, and I know I and many people online have complained to EA without any results (shocking). I've been waiting for over a year.
Please, if it's a small glitch, maybe a missing code, I would be forever grateful. I miss The Sims 3.

what if i want longer seasons. thats really the only thing i'd use. if you made it so i could have 90 day seasons i would do it!
Eco Lifestyle... I love the content as much as I hate the interactions. I am not social even when playing Sims, and I hate to communicate and maintain friendship with a lot of sims, as you have to actually spend the time of playing on uninteresting standard actions - introduction, joke, get to know, ask for a something - boring af. Moreover, you have to press "more choices" a few times to get usual interactions like "get to know" ,"discuss interests" etc.
I don't remember such a thing with boring communication in Sims 2 and 3 and I feel like in these parts sim personality means much more than in Sims 4. In Sims 4, I feel no difference in interactions with the sim with any trait - only moodlets and a bit slower gaining of the relationships.
Thank you (and all the modders) for improving the gameplay , I will definitely use this mode (mostly for my garden to sleep in winter: potato cannot grow in cold! You can plant garlic and onions before the winter, and cover them, so they will grow in the fist spring sunny days, but. not. in . winter!!!) when I have an opportunity to play :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I hate season. I live in a tropical country and we have 2 seasons. Sunny and rainy. We do not have winter. It is always hot, ALL YEAR LONG.
For me, season does not resonate and I always looked for mod on how to disable seasons so I can have my eternal sun ☀ back but never found.
I made peace with it but I hate it. People always say how it is the best pack, the pack you cannot live without. I could totally live without it especially since they added the calendar, the best feature of the pack, in base game.

I bought Seasons at the same time I bought Sims 4 because I love having all the seasons in a game. But, it would be nice to not have plants disappear into dirt piles. For seasonal growing things I put them in a frame and just move the out of season plants behind my house, where I don't see them often. Then move them back, switch them around, when they come back in season. But, if I have your mod I could just keep them all growing, its tempting.
I really don't want to join Patreon again. They spammed everyone I know (without my consent) until I demanded they fully delete my account. It happened years ago when they were new, but... I don't want to give them another chance.

I was hoping you were gonna fix outdoor electronics from breaking in the rain... Like what was the point of the movie pack if the OUTDOOR TVs break in the rain?! And the outdoor speakers that came with university.
Can you make hail or make the pools or ponds freeze? and allow wind speed adjustment and temperature adjustment? smog?
But it does have options appeared the most important option is whether to install or not and the best choice would be to not install it
