Saw Macca in Auckland, New Zealand in 1994 (?) and it sounded absolutely brilliant. Massive outdoor venue with 50,000 people. Took about two songs to get it right then BAM! You could've heard a pin drop on stage. Brilliant! I'm a sound engineer myself, so I know how difficult it be to achieve such a pristine sound.
Granted, it helps that everyone on that stage are stellar players, but I agree, Pab is a gem. He understands the premise of "do no harm" and getting it to sound "just like it sounds." (Also, for a few years he was literally bouncing between Macca gigs on an Avid digital desk and AC/DC fully analog...mad respect.)
