wasn´t that already the case in part four? if i remember correctly, Rozemynes first "year" at the RA spanned 2,5 volumes or so. And thinking further back, the entirety of Book 2 covered a timescale of about 3/4 of a year (from shortly after summer baptism to next AD conference in spring).
truly the passage time in Part 5 and onwards (Hannelore' POV: Hannelore's fifth year at Royal Academy) is really.... something. It is a rollercoaster, so many time skips and loops truly and you know what? they all make sense but make you go like "wtf just happened?"
The way that several of the antagonistic characters in this series feel like true heroes of anither story, trying their best to do the best for the ones they care about, is amazing.
My favorite thing in this part is that Leonore has a piece of paper with "non-compliant" already written on it to affix to the kid she binds up. I find that just so, so funny. And hey, cool shirt. I still listen to the Pillows' OST when I'm driving.
That's what it means to be the retainer of the Saint of Ehrenfest : always be over-prepared for anything ;). And more seriously, Rozemyne's retainers are working harder than ever to support their Lady in any way possible, because, hey, there hardly anyone, besides Charlotte who needs to compensate for both her brother and her mother, which is enough work already, in the Archducal Family who is helpful and they can't help but to see as plainly as possible that with Ferdinand out of Ehrenfest, their liege is actually shouldering the whole duchy all by herself ;).
Don’t anybody add spoilers. But considering the author, it’s extremely likely that the Cinderella thing was foreshadowing. Assuming Ferdinand is a prince. I wonder if glass slippers will be a new trend
Also, Hannalore quietly realizing just how badly Dunklefeger fucked up. "Is that so?" is basically a cry of despair. And poor, easily manipulated Hildebrand!
Saying you merely collect stories for Lady Rozemyne is quite an understatement, Lady Philine, at this point you're more or less running your own informal company of stories gatherers ^^. Edit : As for the critical lack of thinking, well, it's not really new. I mean, back in Rozemyne's second year, a whole bunch of RA professors together weren't able to draw ties between Rozemyne being a freaking AC with a schtappe and Rejuvenation Potions hanging from her belt and the fact she could perform a mana involving ritual faster than some blue priests, in their era where they literally dump their trash cans in their temples :p.
Rosemary is the ultimate outsider. She’s not even from the planet. Plus she’s also been a commoner and now and Noble. The office trying to point out a lot of people focus on their own experience and think that represents the world. They don’t think outside their own little box. The Nobles didn’t do the ceremony or even know much about about it. It is a thing Blue priest do. And the head priest would have no way to know how much mana she really had. Or how effective rejuvenation potions might be. Rosemyne on the other hand, didn’t realize that other people had a different perspective and needed an explanation. Another reminder to her that her perspective was different from everybody else. What she thought was obvious wasn’t. Like her secret technique for packing a suitcase. 🧳 When I first got my car, it had push button start. I couldn’t figure out how it worked. The secret was the brake pedal. Obvious after the fact
Love your breakdowns of the books man. You've picked up stuff that I completely missed and it makes a bunch of story thread obvious where they weren't. Thanks again for a great video!
Rozemynes whirling in this volume is such a otherwise small thing, that actually has such a big impact... Heck, so many things here directly have much larger impacts down the line. I won't say any of those though, because that's ahead of where these videos have gotten to. Though I will say that we do learn why exactly the nobility and the temple/religion are so distorted from the highest level view of the situation historically... eventually anyways. I still would love way more detail on how the church became what it is in Rozemynes time at some point... Oh and um... It's possible she could have listened to Ferdinand cast that execution spell... For reasons... That I can't say now.
I want to know how this world as a whole functions (especially in terms of mana and the god´s influence on everything), considering what we learn later about the stuff outside Yurgenschmidt.
The names of the Gods are connected to their characteristics. The Gods of Light and Darkness have names which are mixes of German words for related characteristics, so the names the ADCs get are personalized to the ADC. There is probably a whole list of characteristics and every ADC gets 2-4 of those thrown into a blender and burned into the brain.

Every time one of the god's names are said in these videos it completely upends the pronunciation I had in my head. I have been mentally reading Dregarnuhr as "Dregnar" for my entire bookworm reading experience. So basically I would bomb the divine protections ritual...
That name is fascinating (just like the rest). It´s more or less a combination of the three german words "drehen" = turning, "Garn" = thread and "Uhr" = clock. So yeah it´s about turning the clock along the tread of fate or whatever. I love how much thought was put into these details.

You know when your done with AOAB you should do another popular light Novel. My suggestion would be Overlord if you want a more dark story or Evil Lord of a Galactic Empire if you want something more funny.

To be fair, they never had the level of education Rosemyne had as someone from Earth, so them being kinda slow makes sense. She had decades of modern education, they have like a few months or a year to speedrun the printing revolution and any industrial revolution invention Rosemyne cooks up.

She brings more than the knowledge of how to do things. She brings the knowledge of what can be done successfully. Like when you wanted to cut out stencils she needed an X-Acto knife. But they didn’t exist, but now they do and they have many other uses. Maybe the gods brought her there to shake up society that had become stratified and stuck
Last 2 vol's from part 4 was so convoluted almost started to loose interest, but Part 5 again was clear, easy to follow and actually very exciting, that it rejuvenated my hype about next vol. Keep it up!
Rosemyne casts all elemental blessings. "OMG she's amazing." All element blessings consistently fail for most nobles, so the going logic is "It will fail, cause fuck Life." Also... Rosemyne has all elements, and fuck your logic. "OMG she's crazy." Nobles with all elements can be counted on one hand, maybe two...
The best part of this series is the fact the main character looks like a tiny adorable girl but she might as well be some strange combination of Sheogorath and Godzilla in a 3 and half foot tall package.

To my understanding Klassenberg was the leading duchy that put the current king on the throne, and his biggest supporter during and after the civil war.

Re-reading part 2, volume 2, it struck me that Rozemyne is 1 Ferdinand away from making the "impossible" Cinderella story very true indeed.
