Devil Anse is my 4th great uncle. My line goes through his brother Valentine Hatfield. My great grandma was Named Virginia Grace Hatfield. Her dad was named Otis Hatfield.
I also know his dad's name was Alexander Hatfield.
Very cool
Hello Cousin!!!
Jack SHOULD start a RUclips channel and Devil Anse was an engineering genius ahead of his time
So nice that the younger generation is continuing to tell the old stories.
Please keep this awesome history alive....❤❤❤
I am truly impressed. Jack Hatfield has been able to bring a lot of history back to life for others to see. I want to thank Judy Hatfield as the Chairman and Founder of the Hatfield and McCoy Foundation so that we all can continue to remember our history. I thank Bo and Ron McCoy for signing the Truce with me on CBS Early Show with 3.5 million people watching That signing ending the worlds most famous Feud. Jack continues to help us show the world that the family of the Hatfields and McCoys are United in our committment to our country and our freedom through Christ. We stand together against any Foe of freedom in the world. We also thank our Tony, Bob Scott, Billy Hatfield and many others for our family memory. Judy Hatfield is loved and will also be remembered forever. God bless our family and all those that believe in Freedom and Unity through Christ. Reo Hatfield
Don't be. The Hatfields aren't worth remembering...
I definitely will be praying for that young man and his family that their business does well that's for sure.
Fascinating museum!
I live about two hours away and plan a trip down that way later this spring. For anyone interested there's a ton of history in this area that goes far beyond the Hatfield-McCoy battlegrounds. Loretta Lynn's homestead is close, Marvin "Popcorn" Sutton shop and homestead are close(stay away from the homestead itself, Pam doesn't allow random fans in), Hatfield-McCoy trails for ATV riders, ECT
See, this is history I need, not embellished Hollywood stories, straight from the families. Very cool. I'm from California, born in '67, my step-dad was from a very small town in Texas, he's how I found out about this part of American History (No disrespect to that amazing mini-series, I watched it 3 times), but this is better. ❤
OMG!!!!! I got to meet Mr Jack about a year or so ago I was on a bucket list trip and my wife got me a shirt from the mesum there's so much to see I urge anyone who gets the chance to to speak with him to do it I enjoyed it very much THANK U SO MUCH
I know the museums open. It would be great to just keep doing videos with Jack now and then. I can't be the only one that likes that fine fella. He should be spotlighted . Keep it alive . Just pop in now and then and do a quick 15 minute video on how he is. I'm going to get down there from Connecticut. No doubt.
Fred, the Hatfield horse is beautiful.🏇. Thank you for the wonderful tour.
I love the history and the real stories of the families Hatfield's and McCoy's. Some beautiful films I have watched. Kevin Costner starring in my favorite film done recently. Oh how proud you must be to have the property back in your hands again as it should have always stayed.
Fantastic and amazing! I have always realized that the feud was not about the pig…but I had no idea about the real story being about so much more! Thank you so much for this tour. I pray that someday I can visit! ~Sharon from Florida
I hope to vist there and the Pan Handle of Fla where my ancestors settled
Love this video. Means a lot. History. I'm from CT. My family has been here for years. Started in Texas. There is a town fritch Texas. We are still going strong. Love History
Watching the series pulled me in, this opened my eyes!! Awesome job. Great history. 👍
THAT PLACE IS SO BEAUTIFULL,THE RUNNING WATER AND THE TREES,PEACE AND QUIETNESS SHOULD BE ALL YOU HAVE THERE.
I can't get enough of this Hatfield McCoy stuff. Unbelievable how lucky Jack is. He knows it which I I'm happy to hear. Keep rocking Jack.!!! Seem like a great guy.
That must be awesome to be his great grandson . I always sided with Hatfield's , devil anse's is a legend. I'd like to visit that place one these days.
Impressive! The museum, the photo of the original house, the artifacts, the moat,
Impressive! I wish Jack the best with the museum. Thank you Leo, for another interesting video. Take care.
Thanks, take care Michael
I was friends with Devil Anse’s granddaughter, Hazel Thompson who lived in Columbia City, Indiana until she passed. She moved up there from Pike County, Ky.
Was just there in that museum last summer. Well worth the stop.
I am from PA , and have always loved the the history and life style of the southern states. The Hatfield 's & Mc Coy 's fight was one piece of History that is still remembered
I just added this stop to my bucket list! Amazing information and museum

Wow I’m going to have to plan a trip out there I’m a Iowa Boy country raised but raised by a dad from your area

Your welcome 🤗
Truly amazing video. Thank you Jack for telling the story of the Hatfield and McCoy feud.
Missed out on this last November when we were visiting, wish we had stopped. Thank you Leo. We’ll see y’all next fall❤
Next time!
I loved the brothel story 😂. FYI there a crab restaurant in Charleston SC that’s housed in a building that used to be a brothel😂😂😂
Very impressive hope you do a video once he gets the new building done.
Coming to Omar and I’ll drive up to see how y’all are doing.
Old Pioneer Motel/Bar and Lord only knows what else!
I’m the daughter of James and Nadine Bailey from Omar. Mommy worked at the Omar Company store from 1948-1977 when the company closed it down
Leo, Jack probably know about Horsepen Mountain not too far up the road there. The Indians lodged there horses down at the bottom of of the mountain. Been in every mountain up there since I was a young girl in the 1960’s. We learned to hunt up there and at Pine Creek (Omar area).
We were blessed to visit the museum and the cemetery in March of 2022 while riding the trails in and around there. Everyone was so nice and gracious to us and it was an honor to meet them all.
I'm so glad you do these stories thank you.
Glad you like them!
So glad your saving history for future generations!
Thanks for taking us along on this great tour Leo. I’m definitely going to see that when we come down this summer. Jack should start a RUclips channel he’s a great story teller also.
Thanks Cheryl
Thanks for sharing the video. Cool museum. Neat artifacts and I am glad you showed us the light poles.
That house was right on the road, the original homestead. Very close anyway. Sorry to comment so much. I've been watching your content for days.
That was soooo interesting! I love history and preservation. I was surprised that house was so close to the road, I thought the house ( original one) would have been farther back from the road. I am 1/2 Native from a tribe in BC, and per ancestry story, my paternal side were settlers in West Virginia. Irish or Scottish, I can’t find much on that side of the family though. The name Campbell shows up a lot though. Not sure.
I want to visit this place!!!😎🇺🇸🙏
Cool, my dad was named after Robert E. Lee also!
Ole "Devil" Anse would be Proud!

So glad your channel popped up on my page. Very interesting story. Loved it.
Thank you for showing this I live in iowa and have had an interest for the story of the fued since I heard about as a child and always wanted to come and see both places but with four young children could never save the money to come see it so this as close as I can get now that the kids are all grown and my husband and I are retired with health problems we still are unable to come see so your videos are as close to ever coming to see and I can get the true story of what and why it all happened thank you so much

My dad dated a Hatfield girl she showed him a suit one of them was wearing when he was killed by the McCoy's he said it was full of holes they kept it in the living room closet. He said he picked up a Hatfield one night he said the sheriff shot him in the gutt dad took him to the hospital an give him 30 dollars so they would fix him an Hatfield told my dad there's a pistol on top my right tire on my car so dad went an got it an got up with him at a bar a year later an he said hears that 30 dollars where's my gun dad said he assume keep it an Hatfield said hell ya it was a little 32 Smith an Wesson my sister has it this was in the 50's
Wow, I wonder if that suit still exists!
Wow. My uncle married a Hatfield they lived in Colorado
Very nice channel! I love West Virginia. I was there once in my lifetime so far and always wanted to come back, maybe even live there. It was the most beautiful state I have ever visited.
Fantastic video love your videos
I have been working on my family tree and I discovered I am connected to Ephraim Hatfield through his wife Anna Mckinney. On my dad's side of the family.
So cool! My grandmother from Point Pleasant WV was a ‘Halfhill’…always wondered if this was a play on names to avoid any repercussions from that fued 🤔
Wonderful and amazing!!
