C8 Corvette DCT filter cut open looking for metal shavings / filings from the transmission & clutch.

Many gear heads like myself like to see things internally and how they work.I took apart my DCT filter after 7000 miles for the 7500 mile service. I cut it open to see what was in it.

Instead of cutting it open with a Dremmel which creates dust contamination, how about soaking, rinsing, agitating in a tall glass jar filled with fresh gasoline or clear solvent? Then allow sediments to settle at the bottom, then inspect any remnants? 😊

Probably would have been a smarter idea in hindsight.
